[David Lightningsword]

David Zeusson 'Lightningsword'

A Human of 25 years of age. David is the son of Nancy and Zeus, both Surdans. His father was a spell caster of a larger strength than most regular humans. David, as it seems, showed potential of being just as strong from a young age. His father trained him for many years, until he was summoned back to the Varden. David went with his father and began to train in the ways of the sword and bow as well as magic. He earned the name 'lightningsword' after calling down lightning in the battle of Farthen Durto hit his sword and used it to slay many Urgals. After the war, David is not a Rider bound to the Black Dragon Zeus, now wielding his grandfather's sword Kveykva and accompanied by his Grandfather dragon in Eldunari form, Heralda. He is being tutored alongside his friend Velathan (who is now a rider as well) by Brenton Bromson until they find a true teacher..

Zeus of the Black Scales

After being in captivity for 100 years at the hand of Galbatorix, The Black Dragon Zeus found his Rider after he was freed by the Varden. His Rider being David Lightningsword. It is said their pairing is the product of fate. Seeing as David is named Lightningsword, he inherited his grandfather's sword named 'kvyekva' and Zeus having a red lightning bolt on his back. Zeus is unsure of his parentage, although it is suspected he is the lone surviving son of Heralda and a un-named wild dragon. No proof has been found of this. Zeus is very young, and still unable to ride in the air. He looks forward to the day he can sore in the skies with David. For now though, he is content with flying along side his friend Auran (Dragon of Velathan)

Heralda Eldunari

(^Before Death)

Hatched 200 years ago, The female black dragon Heralda hatched for Kronos Uranusson in Ilirea, starting a long bond of friendship. She was a born flier, gifted from birth. Trained by Glaedr and Oromis, they rose quickly in the ranks of Riders. for almost 100 years they reveled in their bond together, exploring the land and keeping the peace. during their travel Heralda met a wild dragon, and ended up mating with him, birthing 3 eggs, only one of them..a black and red one, the combination of both their colors, was given to the riders. When the forsworn attacked, Heralda and Kronos fought in the battle for Vroenguard, but fled when Kronos saw it was a hopeless fight. They then spent the best part of 40 years in hiding in Surda, only coming out when the forsworn threatened Surda. Brom then cornered them and asked them to help the varden, which Heralda agreed to willingly, and Kronos just because Heralda wanted revenge. 10 years later they were cornered by Morzan, and forced Heralda to cough up her eldunari, then killed the pair. She then spent most of the next 50 years in darkness, Galbatorix not wanting to delve to deeply into such a sad mind to break it... until the Varden threatened him, then he did but was unable to do so before the varden attacked. Heralda was then rescued and learned of her rider's grandson's fate. She now travels with David and Zeus and helps in their studies. Zeus is the son she believed dead. David the long lost blood of her Rider.

KING ORIK

At an age of just over 110, King Orik is one of the younger kings the Dwarf kingdom has ever had. While he is not the trueborn son of the previous king Horthgar, he is still kin, and was voted the normal way into his kingdom, granted with a little help from his human foster brother Eragon Shadeslayer. When he charges into battle, the ancient war hammer Volund in his hand, none stand in his path to victory. He is a kind Dwarf, and is more sympathetic to the other races than most, he is most likely the first Dwarf ever to ride a Dragon. he has had a sad past, with his parents passing away young, and his adoptive father/Uncle dying in battle, but he strives for a better, brighter, tomorrow.

TALION THE LONG RANGER

At 300 years of age, Talion is considered still younge for his age. He is a Ranger. Few are known to the Empire, and Talion is the most famous. He is a half Ranger, half Elf. His Father, Tennant, was an esteemed rider before the fall. Tennant's Dragon, Talot, was close to Talion, often letting him ride upon his back, which few Dragons do for other than their rider unless it is a necessity. Talion witnessed during the battle of Illera as his father, mother and Talot were slain, and fled for his life. For the next 100 years, he earned his title as the lone Ranger. He mastered his mental magic and slew all who had done evil in the empire. He had two goals.. save the eldunari of Talot.. and get revenge for his murdered family.. maybe one day slaying Galbatorix himself. When the Varden attacked Uru'baen, Talion helped, but only to gain entrence to his home and find Talot. Now he travels the land hunting remaining empire forces.

TALOT ELDUNARI

(^Before Death)

Died at the age of 250, Talot is now 350. Dragon of the elf Tennant, Talot spent a good portion of his life serving the Riders by traveling over alagaesia, stopping Urgal rebellions before they began, amongst other things. When his Rider found a Ranger mate, Talot was fine with that, as they continued to travel the land for 100 more years.. but soon Tennant missed his wife and kid, Talion, and They returned to Illera, where Talot spent the next good portion of his life on guard duty. He did not mind too much though, as he got to bond with Talion, enjoying many an adventure with his rider's son. Unfortunately, that was cut short when Talot was slain in the fall. He ended up in his Heart of hearts, where he spent 100 years searching the city with his mind to gain information on the whereabouts of Talion. When Talion found him, Talot was rejoiced, and now travels with the Lone Ranger, helping him through difficult situations, and being his invisible companion
