Zachariah heard them all and he nodded at all of this if they stayed together they could kill this captain. Zachariah heard Zeus say David needed food so he reached down into the folds of his armor and produced a small sack the size of his fist and handed it to David. " it's not very tasty but it will give you the strength you need if any one else needs some pass it around." Zachariah knew if a guard captain could send assassins after them then he was sure to have other surprises up his sleeve.

Brenton glanced over at Konner an motioned for him to move back from the knight slowly, not too fast so as to scare the rest of the group. When the assassin was out of the way, and no one else was liable to get hurt, the half elf reached toward Vaentr and a brief conversation passed between them. While it was true that the former king had destroyed his cruxis crystal, Brenton had discovered that he could still turn into Vaentr. Unfortunately the form was only able to be held for short periods of time, about two hours, before he would return to a half elf. All his other abilities were gone and that was an issue. So before he did anything, the knight created a handful of fist sized gold spheres from the small veins of ore in the earth. They all went into his pouch where he had started to collect the few crystals and other precious materials. He would eventually need them one day to start a new life.
Everyone stay back until I give the okay and don't attack or someone could end up getting hurt in the heat of the moment. With that he combined his mind with that of the blue male eldunari and a golden blue aura formed around the former king. It didn't work as fast as before but within a minute the knight was gone and Vaentr stood regally before those who were there. With a slight puff of smoke, the dragon dropped his head and then was gone once more. In his place stood the knight yet again.
I can turn into Vaentr after some very regrettable decisions I had made when I was younger but it only lasts two hours and takes some serious concentration for Vaentr and I to hold the form together. We no longer have to worry about horses or other means of travel in desperate times. I can fly to my small house in the Hadarac that Konner built for me. There I have a stallion named Frost Fire who can carry me as fast as possible to Gilead. If there are any supplies needed then I'm sure I can grab them as well from my stores.
Konner watched with some mild interest as he saw his old mentor change once more. He hadn't realized that the knight could still do that but he made a good point to everyone. It was a good thing that they had built that house for the old king so long ago. With a small nod he spoke. I think it is a good idea and the assassins have been keeping Frost Fire well taken care of. It will save some time as well and the Troop Captain won't expect reinforcements, even if it is just one horseman.

David watched in awe as The dragon appeared for a second before Brenton again returned. As Brenton explained what he could do, David spoke up and said "Well that helps get one more person to Gi'lead quickly. But that still leaves Leon or Zachariah having to travel there by slower means. We could travel there and wait for you two to arrive before attacking.." He then munched on the food Zachriah had given him, thanking him with a nod. As he ate his energy grew so that he could sit up straight in Zeus's saddle. He then stated "I think we should leave at once. Gather some supplies then we shall take to the sky. In a weeks time may we be at the gates of Gi'lead."
Zeus lightly touched his nose to Zachriah's forehead, saying "Thank you" Obviously for the food he gave David to regain his strength. He agreed that they should not waste any time and wanted to take to the air again with David. He wanted to end this once and for all and perhaps find a Dragon willing to help train him. More than once he had considered asking Saphira for tips, but the Saviors of the Varden had busy lives, and Both Zeus and David doubted they would agree to train them.

Velathan had left the group briefly to browse the marketplace and gather some much needed supplies to sustain them on their journey. He had heard it was possible to draw water from the earth itself, but he had figured that was easier to just have a full skin of water. Besides, he was never that strong of a spellcaster, unlike David or Brenton who had been using it like it was natural for years. He liked to think that he was improving, but wasn't able to cast particularly strong spells. Not yet anyway.
The first sign of trouble that he had heard was the clash of weapons in the distance. Although Auran was away hunting for himself, he somehow knew that it was his friends being attacked. It didn't have the sound of the friendly spar that he was used to. It was something more violent, more brutal. More deadly. He loosened his red rider's blade, Urfael from it's scabbard and ran to where he had left the other two and the black dragon, Zeus. His packful of supplies rattled around on his back as he ran.
A load of bodies was the first thing he saw. Brenton, David and some other people... And a dragon he did not recognize were just standing there, speaking. He drew Urfael and rushed over to them. "What in the name of all the gods' happened here?" he exclaimed upon reaching them. He kept his weapon trained on the newcomers, who he doubted were a threat, but he was cautious nonetheless. "And who are these people?"

Zachariah nodded his head when David thanked him for the food. When Zeus touched Zachariah's head he said "I would gladly do it again great dragon" After the question David had asked Zachariah said "I may have a solution to the problem that has been represented to us all but it will need at least two people and a eludanari but there seems to be the solution to the problem concerning leon and me and we all can make it there at the same time." With that Zachariah Whispered a sentence in the ancient language and a five foot dragon made of wisps "It may look strange but it is solid all it is is a branch off of what you did David but it uses less energy so thank you for the idea"
"So if Leon I and one of the eludnari work together we will not be as wiped out if we where to do it alone just a idea but it's the fastest I could think of" after that Zachariah heard the sound of footfalls behind him. He immediately stopped the flow of magic to the wisp dragon and drew shadow fang toward the new comer who also had his sword unsheathed.

Brenton heard Velathan approaching rapidly about the same time that Zachariah did so he wasn't as surprised as the rest might be. With a wave of his hand and a small three word string of Ancient Language, Brenton had a shimmering wall of energy between the two of them. Sorry for the disturbance that caused you to rush here so quickly, Velathan. I hope Auran isn't already on his way since he was so hungry earlier. Anyhow you know David, Zeus, myself and our eldunari so I'll introduce the others. Zachariah is the one currently attempting to scare one of my newest pupils, Leon is the half elf laying on the ground just waking up, the dragon is Talon who is one of my previous pupils, and his rider is the over confident assassin here named Konner. They are all friends as long as there are no fights. So please, sheathe Urfael and join us.
In all honesty, Brenton had nearly forgotten that Velathan had gone to gather supplies while David trained with him. This was still new having two riders to train at the same time. But Velathan was excellent with sword combat and this hadn't been the place for teaching rough spells meant for battle. That was why Velathan normally trained with him when they were in the open. As the king stood up he glanced to the left and saw a stables with a horse almost identical to Frost Fire. The difference was this stallion had a silver mane and tail while its body was black as the night. It would be a good horse for sneak attacks.
The half elf knight pulled his bag of gems and gold out as he walked over to the stables. A young man stood there with a bored look and it was only a matter of two minutes before Brenton came back with half the bag gone and the stallion on a lead behind him. Now there was no reason to go to the Hadarac if Velathan got the supplies.
Konner held out his hand to Velathan as he was introduced by Brenton. Pleased to meet you, Velathan. I hope to one day say I am good enough to compare to you and David. Brenton trained me when I had already been a knight and assassin so I was far from young but you two are training immediately out of meeting your dragons. Talon dipped his head down and stared at Velathan with one large red eye.
I will be the one eldunari who helps you and Leon in your journey to Gilead but as for who else helps is up to them. Grazael spoke about the plan so that Zachariah knew he had not been forgotten about.
I did not mean to offend you earlier, Heralda but I hadn't known about your plan and it looked like we were abandoning our friends in their time of need. Saphira finally spoke to the older dragon once more after she had finally calmed down. Admittedly it had been a good plan and Saphira had been to much like Brom to notice.
Leon stood slowly and walked over to Zachariah who seemed to be on edge in this new development. "Brother in race, Zachariah, calm down and look at the facts here. A blade is in Velathan's hand and so he could easily have killed at least one of us. The blade is a rider blade and obviously he holds himself as such. Lastly Brenton and David fought together in that battle like they were used to a group of three. They constantly covered each other and yet they had blind spots today because he was at the market. This is not our enemy so please put your sword away."

David smiled and nodded at Zachriah's idea "That could very well work, good idea my friend." He bowed his head to show his admiration. Zeus then said privately to David "He would make a good Rider." David then smirked to himself and fake snapped at his dragon "Then maybe you should have chosen him, and not be" Zeus snorted then began to hum and said "He would make a good rider.. but you make a better one" David chuckled and patted Zeus's neck with affection, to which Zeus hummed louder, his body vibrating.
David then turned his head as Velathan made an entrance "Peace friend" He spoke quietly, and eye on Zach, in case the half elf made a rash act and needed to be stopped. His lips twitched into a smile when Brenton spoke his calming words, and Konner his praise. Again personally thinking the praise was not deserved, as Konner had totally out fought him in the battle.
Heralda hummed and said "Peace, Saphira. I understand how you acted. Mt only hope is that you will trust me as David and Zeus have learned to do the next time i can not fully explain my plans." She then adressed Zachriah with a hint of regret "I would accompany you young one, but I do not wish to part from David and Zeus so soon after being united with them. Kronos once abandoned his young child Zeus and he never got to see him again, so he would disapprove of me leaving his grandson and my son."
David smiled at Velathan and said 'Call our friend Auran back if you can, for we leave soon for Gi'lead to save our mentor's life." David's hand rested on the golden dragon head pommel, which in truth was a gem carved to the right shape. He was eager to leave and find the assassin who had the riders blade. Now that he was a Rider he wanted every riders sword accounted for, so that no one could surprise him and use one to kill Zeus

Zachariah took Leon's words and sheathed his sword "My apologies Velathan I thought you where a enemy as you can tell we have not have the best of time's here" Gesturing towards the dead assassins and mercenaries with a nod of his head. When Grazael spoke Zachariah was surprised that one of them had even considered the plan let alone want to go through with it. " Thank you Grazael Elda for volunteering to help me and Leon in this I honestly thought none of you would trust me. Thank you for the trust you are putting in me and Leon we will not let you down"
Next Zachariah heard David's compliment " Thank you David for the compliment David it is appreciated" After which he heard Heralda apologizing for not being able to accompany Zachariah and Leon "Do not apologize for something that is your duty to do and besides a mother's place is with her children" After which Zachariah thought to himself this is a very accepting group.

Velathan sighed and sheathed Urfael. He could see that these men were no threat and he was honestly glad to meet new people. Traveling with the same people constantly does get dull after a while. One of the men approached him and held out his hand. Velathan shook it and in replied to him. "I am sure that there is no need for us to compare, as you don't seem to be any less skilled than any other man here. You have been a Rider for longer than either of us and you are obviously far more experienced than I." Velathan turned to the new dragon who he did not know and spoke to it out loud, knowing it was rude to mentally contact another's dragon without having permission first. "Greeting, dragon. I hope my entrance did not cause offense to either you or your rider." He said, glancing at Konner.
"My own dragon is away hunting at the moment, and I have called him back. He'll probably arrive soon." he bowed towards the turned to the next man who spoke to him. "There is no need to apologise, friend. I had heard fighting as was simply being cautious."

Brenton watched the exchange between all of them and then laughed. Such a fine group of friends fit for any man woman or child to have. With that he climbed up onto the horse and unfastened Grazael's eldunari. Brenton tossed it to Leon who caught it midair and then started on the spells needed for them. Well as soon as Aura arrives then you should join us in our travels to Gilead. We have much to take care of and Urfael will claim a victim or two. Yet for now... The half elf knight clipped his heel against the flank of his steed who bolted toward the gates. It was time to get under way. With a few muttered spells, the horse started gaining speed until it was going twice the normal galloping speed. In a matter of half an hour he was far enough that he could let the spell end.
Konner climbed up onto Talon's back and nodded his head toward Velathan. Talon says hello and he hopes to meet you and your dragon again after the fight. With that he rose into the air atop Talon and they flew for Gilead as well.

David smiled at each friend in turn as they began to leave. He then said "We'll meet up 20 miles from the city to make a plan of attack. Fly well Talon and Konner. Ride well Brenton, Leon and Zachariah. Fly well Velathan." Zeus then boped his nose against Velthan's forehead and said "That's only if Auran can keep up with me." He then spread his wing and took off into the sky. He flew quickly away from the city before he slowed down to a more comfortable speed. Heralda chuckled and stated "Remember to use the wind patterns as much as possible Zeus, it will save you having to constantly carry David's weight" To which Zeus growled and adjusted his height to please Heralda.
......................... "Follow them.. they will need our help. We can not let so many Rider's meet their end without trying to help them" Talot murmured into Talion's mind. Talion was in the shadows, Dauth in his right hand, the dark purple blade almost soaking in the darkness. He nodded and said "Will do, we shall wait until the rest leave, then we shall follow."

Everyone was leaving so Zachariah walked over to Leon and Grazael and told them the words in the ancient language he had used to conjure the other wisp dragon. Except he changed the words to accommodate a larger size after he was finished speaking a eighteen foot dragon stood in front of them lying on it's paws awaiting them to get on "well this should be interesting Leon never flew before should be interesting" and with that Zachariah walked over to the wisp.

Auran had heard his Rider's call. He was eating, which he wasn't happy to be disturbed in, but he'd decided that he'd had enough anyway and pulled away from the poor creature that he had caught. He launched himself into the air with a few bats of his wings. Using some of the nearby wind currents, he was able to arrive in the town his Rider, and the rest of the group were. Velathan had told him about the newcomers to the group, so he had expected to find people with his Rider, but found him alone instead. "Are they gone already? Honestly, I don't think I can leave any of you alone without you getting into some kind of trouble!"
Velathan grinned as Auran spoke to him. "Yes, they're gone already, and it's your fault for taking so long! Anyway, shall we depart?" He climbed onto Auran as the dragon began to lift into the air. "You see that dot over there?" Velathan said, projecting a mental image to Auran. "That's David and Zeus. Catch up to them!" Auran didn't bother answering as he sent a feeling of agreement to Velathan and he began to speed up, using whatever winds he could to catch up to the other dragons. He was a fast flier, because of his build being more suited to speed than perhaps Zeus was, and he was sure that he could catch up to them fairly quickly. The only downside was that he still struggled, as did all dragons his age, to carry his Rider for extended periods of time. This is what made the wind so helpful, as it could lift the weight from his as he used it to glide along.

Leon had climbed onto the back of the shadow dragon and was now riding toward Gilead with the rest of the group. This one dragon creature was fast, able to fly at around the same speed as a dragon fit for the Air Branch which meant that they were already far ahead of the rest. Behind Zachariah and Leon was Konner astride Talon, closely followed by David and Velathan atop their respective dragons. Below rode Brenton as fast as the horse would carry him with magical assistance from a half elf but even then he was falling behind. As they neared a small village about an hour away from where they started, Leon controlled the shadow mount to descend thinking it best that the younger dragons catch their strength and let Brenton catch up.
Brenton had long since lost sight of the others as they flew faster than this horse could ever dream of galloping. So when he came upon the village and saw signs of landing dragons, the knight was thankful for their waiting for him. A break for the young riders and then they would continue onward. There was still about another two hours hard riding to Gilead and that meant that they needed a plan of attack for when they arrived.

Zeus looked over as Auran caught up to him. He growled and picked up speed, his wings straining to keep David's weight up and to keep up the speed. "Don't hurt yourself" David warned quietly to Zeus but he smiled as the two raced towards Gi'lead. Then Zeus saw as the others landed in a small village and decended to join them, huffing for breath as he landed. David dismounted and gently patted Zeus's hide and said outloud "Rest your eyes Zeus. I'll wake you if trouble arises." Zeus nodded his head once before laying it on his paws and letting his eye lids drop. With in minutes he was asleep..
................. Talion mounted a Horse, which started bucking to try and get him off. He was making a racket and since Talion was trying to steal it, that just would not do. He placed his hand on the Horses head and his eyes and hand glowed blue. The Horse immediately stopped bucking.Talion smiled slightly and then prodded the horse on its sides. It took off in pursuit of the Riders, Dragon's and elves.
Talion stopped the horse a few leagues away from the small town in which the riders were. He bided his time until they would not be looking as much for danger.. then he would sneak in to the town to ease drop.
