It was yet another day on the road to a new life, dusty paths and little communication outside the group of travelers. And to think, this was the life that the small town Chase Warrensson had chosen for himself. Back in Therinsford he wasn't real famous or rich but he had a life ahead of him that most could only dream about. He had been the son of a rather important person in Palancar Valley and had also learned many skills that would get him far. Smithing and fighting were just two of those skills he had learned. Yet they had been able to get him a position as town protector. And now he walked the vast wilderness with no company aside from Asuni and Kylie. Both of them were great traveling partners, his dragon and his girlfriend, but there was something missing.
As the day had neared its end, with the light receding below the horizon, a city appeared just ahead. The only reason that the youthful teenage rider knew it was there was because a celebration was commencing just at that moment. Fireworks displays had ended and loud cheering could be heard for many miles. So it was time for the trio to enter the city and see what to do about training this new rider. Slowly Chase trudged onward, his feet kicking up dirt, when a cut throat charged the small group. With a sigh, the rider drew his twin swords and leveled them at the cut throat's heart. With his build and the amount of muscle he showed, most people would laugh, but it must've been the dark look in his blue eyes and the dragon growling menacingly. For this bandit stopped and fled for his life. Pitiful! Without thinking, Chase shouted in the Ancient Language. Deloi Moi! He had no idea what it meant but suddenly the ground caved around the bandit and he fell into a hole just as all the earth surrounded Chase. Unfortunately he passed out with the last sound he heard being a keening from Asuni.
