Faith smiled at Silas's confusion. "I'm around one hundred and ten years old. I don't know the exact numbers though. Most people, even if they look older, are actually much younger than me." she explained still slightly amused. In his human form Silas's expression easily showed his amazement, the word unique flashed through his thoughts. She had never had anyone think anything truly positive about her. She frowned slightly hearing about his family but she continued on to answer his question. "I know I was born in Du Welvarden but I have no substantial memories about my past. When I do remember my memories are often confusing leaving me with an odd feeling of sadness and remorse." Faith responded slowly, thinking hard to remember things forgotten.

Hearing the age of Faith said Silas took a double take "Well you look like a child not trying to offend you or anything" This was good at least she trusted him and she was opening up. Silas found it amazing that there was a new race in the world. He saw Faith light up when he had said Unique Silas smiled "I'm glad that I could brighten your day up don't try hiding it" Silas said with a warm smile "Well if you where born in Du Welvarden then maybe we should head there and see if we can learn anything about your past do you agree. This may also help kickstart your memories" Silas explained perhaps if they found someplace familiar to her she would remember.

Faith wasn't particularly offended,it was true after all. "I'm still a teenager so to say. I age very slowly and i'm not sure why. Its yet another mystery." she said sighing. The only reason she had to be secretive was people fearing her, and people possibly using her for her powers. She had decided when she first revealed that she would keep her powers hidden until it became relevant for now she was fine, though she wasnt trying all that hard. Silas's comment got another smile from her, "Humans tend to freak out if they see me like this. I can stay uncloaked around you but while traveling it would be better if I didn't." she explained this to him rolling her eyes. "you could expect here, where dragons and their riders roam free, that people would be more open minded. Sadly they are not." Faith listened to his question and though a bit about it. "As long as we don't stay there for long I should be fine. I spent almost all of my life there and have only recently journeyed away. That is a good idea though hopefully it would work, I hate being in the dark like this."

"So in other words you age like a dragon perhaps you have the best of both species this may be a blessing instead of the curse you think it is" Silas felt bad for Faith she was both afraid of people and what they thought she just needed to find someone who accepted her for who she was not who she tried to be. "do you feel safer to sleep then I will keep watch besides I'll need to hunt again before we leave and along the way I could teach you some tricks of the trade" Silas said showing a warm smile to faith " Just because there are rider all around do not change years of fear do not blame them"Silas walked over to a tree while walking he turned back to his wolf form so that he would be able to guard Faith better that he would in his human form. He prowled around the clearing waiting for anything to happen nothing had.

"Yeah it could be worse." she admitted. Faith trusted Silas but she knew that good intentions could easily be swayed. She would let him keep watch but she wouldn't really sleep, she never did. "You can keep watch. If you hunt again keep in mind I eat a lot and will eat almost anything. I can hunt to get by but i'm not exceptional." she informed him. Hearing his comment Faith knew he was right but she didn't want to listen. She had lived so peacefully until she had meet humans, she couldn't help but blame them. "Well goodnight, I'm going to sleep up in that tree,"she motioned to where she would be "Have an uneventful night." she said smiling. Getting her bag she climbed into the tree she had chosen and covered herself with a blanket. She soon fell into an uneasy sleep.

As day broke through the weary night Silas turned back to his human form. Hunting would be easier in the morning the animals would still be groggy of the waking hours. Noting what Faith had said he took down a deer and a few rabbits grabbing a few herbs to add some taste to the meat. and a few roots and berries. By the time he reached the clearing it looked as though Faith was still sleeping. He decided to allow her to sleep a little longer she deserved it. Starting the fire to start a breakfast and help get rid of the morning chills when the fire was underway he walked over to the tree and climbed up to where Faith was sleeping.
Silas shook her softly "Faith wake up it's a little past seven" He said softly " I also made some breakfast" With that he silently hopped down from the tree and walked over to the fire and continued to cook. waiting for Faith to come over.

At Silas's prompting Faith rolled onto her back, opening her eyes into slits. She could smell the food before she saw it and that helped her to get up. She hopped out of the tree and walked over waking up quickly. She enjoyed the chilly morning but the fire was better. "Adding herbs to the meat is a good idea, I typically just eat it plain" She commented serving herself. She took a large amount of food as always and began to eat. "Should we leave after lunch? That would give us some time to collect supplies for the trek over to Du Welvarden." It had taken her about a month and a half to get to where they were now, but she had mostly taken the back trail for safety reasons.

Seeing Faith walk over Silas raised a hand in greeting "Well you look like you rested fairly well last night" He said with a smile this would be good for her get some people skills into her maybe a month at the best to make it to Du Welvarden Silas could help her on working with and talking to people and be less awkward. " Why eat bland when nature provides so much flavor." Silas said to Faith as she took a large portion. He served himself some berries and some of the meat before walking over to sit by faith.
"Yes that would be great I could show you some roots and berries that aren't going to kill us and show you some simple snares and maybe get you some help with that bow of yours." Finishing the last bit of the food he had gotten Silas stood up and said "When ever you are ready we can begin the sooner the better I think."

Faith finished eating and nodded. "I got a normal nights rest but you didn't get any. I'll watch tonight if that's alright " she told Silas thinking ahead. "I typically just eat to get nutrients but I probably could have added spices. They are everywhere." She said as Silas sat down."It would be good for you to show me, then I can help forage as well. I have a pretty good shot with my bow so I almost always use it. I've gotten better by hunting but actually training is always welcome. As for the snares they are always a good backup plan, I cant wait to learn." She heard his comment and got up walking over to the tree she had slept in. She retrieved her bow and dagger and walked back over. "Lets go."

Silas smirked at faiths comment "Thank you for your concern but if need be I can go on for a while longer, perhaps we can split watch so that neither of us are so worn out when morning comes." Picking a triangular shaped leaf he handed one to Faith and popped one in his own mouth " It's called lemon balm roll it up and chew it gets you up and gives you some natural energy. Also adds zest to whatever your cooking." Listening to faith Silas nodded his head in approval. "That would also mean that if we get split up which I hope never happens you can fend for your self and we can have twice as much food so we wouldn't need to stop as often. Do you know what your bow is made out of or the design of it? Snares are actually how I got most of the rabbits don't doubt the small things."
Seeing Faith walk over to her tree and grab her bow and dagger he nodded at her. "Well what do you want to learn first snares taking down larger game or the roots and berries." Silas said looking behind him as he started walking down the path into the woods.

Faith nodded "I'll take first watch then." As Silas handed her the leaf she watched him eat it. Faith did the same smiling surprised at the taste. "Is this what lemon tastes like? Its really good!" Grabbing a few more leaves Faith pocketed them for later. She raised her eyebrows slightly at his comment. "I have managed to survive on my own up until now." she reminded him not actually all that mad. "I can see what you mean though there is always room for improvement. As for my bow I think its made out of oak wood. I don't know the design though sadly. Maybe if you look at it you can recognize the design." Faith handed him the bow, though she didn't know what it was any person with knowledge of the elves would know the bow was elven. The bow was long with curled tips and was a rich chocolate brown. Engraved in gold were elegant flowers and they were twisted all throughout the wood. " Since I have no preference on the order of things, once you figure out the bow, I guess we could do everything in the order that you said. First snares, then large game hunting, then roots and berries." Following behind she waited on further instruction or questions.

"Well I'm glad we could come to an agreement on this" Silas said with a nod of his head. He continued walking until he heard the excitement in Faith's voice he let out a laugh "Yes if you think that's good wait till we find some of the things I want to show you." Silas said with a smirk as he saw faith pocketing a few of them. "I'm sorry, I had no meaning to insult you I only meant that now you would be able to notice and get more out of nature." Seeing that she wasn't actually all that mad. " As I said nature can give you everything that you need you just need to know how to find it. If my memory serves then it is elven as for the design it is a recurve bow. See the curled tips that is so more energy can be stored to let the arrow fly without all the strain of a long bow. It is a very beautiful bow though where did you get it." Silas asked. He nodded at faith no caring what order they went in "Can you give me a brief description of some plants and animal that you know?" He asked before continuing

She nodded at Sila's apology. "I know, as I've said before I only took what I needed so added information would be interesting." Hearing the question Faith sighed, yet again she didn't know the answer. "I'm not sure where I got the bow. I've had it for as long as I can remember." She told him looking a bit annoyed. "Hopefully we can figure it out when we get to Du Welvarden." she said this hopefully forcing herself to not be in a bad mood. "I con label basically any animal that crosses my path." Faith said simply. With her abilities she could easily tap into the mind of an animal and figure out what it is. "With plants I'm not so good with names. I just use animals as a key. If they can eat it I usually can." Explaining her reasoning she spotted a bush full of berries. "No animal has touched those even though they are all fully ripe. I can assume this plant is poisonous because of that." She pointed it out as an example. Tapping into the mind of a nearby bird her suspicions were confirmed. The berries didn't do much harm but were bad to eat.

Silas smiled happy that faith was not mad with him. "All the more reason to get moving as fast as we can the more you learn." He said still moving. It was great that faith could have a great understanding of the things around her. " That a great ability that you have but something's animals can eat and we can't for example acorns are poisoness to human but not squirrels" Ivy berries Silas thought " They aren't poisoness to an extent you would need to ingest a lot of them to die." Pointing to a deer a few yards off Silas spoke softly as to not scare off the animal "Faith you see that buck up there this is your first lesson. Try hitting it above it front leg about a few inches above."

((Acorns are actually edible, I've consumed many >#<))
Faith surprised with the acorn but the ivy berries were understandable. "I've eaten acorns before, it must be a human thing." she commented still following close behind. When she saw the deer Faith stopped, its thoughts pulsed through her mind as always though Silas's were there as well. She knew what he was going to say before he did. "My mark isn't that good. I can only deal the killing shot..." she said trailing off. Shifting from foot to foot uncomfortably she wasn't sure if she should speak her thoughts. Though what she said was true that wasn't it. "I'm sorry can we please use something else for target practice. That deer doesn't need to be put in any unnecessary pain." Faith finally spoke her mind making sure to keep quiet though. "If we're going to eat it I can kill it for us." she added

(Raw acorns contain high concentrations of tannic acid, there bad in quantity)
Silas felt a little dumb not remembering that acorns couldn't kill you if you ate three or four. " Sorry for forgetting that acorns aren't poisoness in very small quantities but there is preparation that you can do to them where you can eat them in large quantities but it's very tedious ." Silas said quickly correcting himself. Noting the disdain on Faith's face while he said what to do nodding to himself. "Well if you can take the killing shot why don't you?" He asked her. Silas smiled at her " Faith it's ok if you can't do it you don't need to try and impress me" He said grabbing his own bow and knocking an arrow. Silas shook his head "Faith if it's ok with you I think I will take this one down but yes it's is for a meal at least four after I take it down we can move onto snares and the roots and berries ok. I will never make you do anything that you don't want to do. "

(Oops)
Yet again Faith was surprised at how understanding Silas was. "Thank you," she said relived. "I can take this one down though. I just didn't want to if we didn't need the food." she added hastily. Its not that she couldn't do it, it was that she hadn't wanted to before. But now she was fine. Faith turned from him and watched the deer intently. She checked everything and positioned herself. Notching the arrow she took a few deep breaths and let it fly. The arrow struck true going through one temple and out the other cleanly. The deer fell and Faith was happy that its death had been quick and relatively painless. Grinning she looked over at Silas "So would you call that a clean shot?" she asked teasing. She moved on though and started to plan again. "As for the acorn I've eaten them in stew. Your right to say its difficult it was mostly a last resort. We can hand the deer away from predators and let the blood drain as we move on to snares." She suggested walking toward the deer carcass, they had to do something with it. "I think we can point out roots and berries when we see them." she added seeing a bush.
