    Before she saw them Faith sensed the robbers approaching. She picked up her pace to a fast walk as the robbers finally came into view. There were seven of them and they approached on horseback slowing once they were behind her. Faith groaned inwardly realizing that they had been following her camps. "I need to be more carful next time" she thought annoyed with herself. Every one of her instincts were telling her to fly away, but days of travel had left her fatigued and she didn't have the power to wipe the robbers memories. Stealing a glance back at them she shuddered. A girl traveling by herself wasn't safe, especially a young one. She wondered what to do knowing she didn't have enough power to just tell them to leave. She really didn't want to fly away, news of a girl with dragon wings would spread fast. Debating weather she should stay safe and fly away or  try and keep her anonymity, a new mind approached. Unlike the robbers she couldn't access the persons thoughts and they were coming from the opposite direction. Deciding to keep walking she hoped whoever it was would pass quietly not adding to the problem.

Silas was of on was of his adventures again if one could call them that he had seen almost the entire of alagaesia except hegot odd memories of the spine although they where beautiful they felt off somehow like the memories had been tampered with. Being knocked out of his daydream Silas noticed a weary mind surrounded by wolfish almost feral thoughts. immediatly silas gripped his Voulge loosly in case it was needed although these minds where very dull one could never be to sure. Alone the thick tree line Silas melded in with the greens blacks gray and other colors of the forests. Seeing seven bandits circle what looked to be a young girl Silas took a breath and walked into the sight of the robbers and the girl.




Glanceing at the bandits they look meagerly trained and equiped most likely theives from Isenstar. Silas guessed that they where most likely in this for the gold but there beastly eyes told another story. " leave and we can all continue with our lives" three men lunged at Silas wach with dagger or short sword in hand with three swipes they where all disarmed " leave or you will be cut down" Silas said with a more authoritive voice.

    Faith slipped out her own small dagger backing away from the robbers and Silas. Though he had helped Silas was still a threat to her until proven otherwise. As Faith was temporarily distracted one of the robbers made a grab for her, in one swift movement Faith slashed her dagger down his arm. The injured robber  snarled at Faith cradling his injured arm, it was obvious he didn't expect her to put up a fight.  Glancing at Silas and then at his fleeing group members the robber turned tail and fled. Faith eyed Silas wearily as she tried to access his mind one more. Once again  she only meet a wall. This was the first time Faith had meet someone with such a strong mind, she was scared. Refusing to show any fear Faith finally talked her face expressionless she did so. "Thanks for the help." she said as calm as she could manage. Putting up he calm facade she was ready to flee at any moment.

As Silas turned to face the rest of the robbers he saw the small girl slice one's arm pretty bad looking down at her after he reached with his mind to see if the robbers had reformed which they had not. Suddenly a force to be reconned with hit Silas's mind he quickly scrambled a sturdy defense. Eyeing the girl quizinly he relized the small dagger tightly clenched in her hand he sheathed his own weapon. The girl spoke a stern thank you but Silas looked at her posture and knew she was scared. Silas bent to one knee "calm little one I mean you no harm and you have no reason to fear or have you weapon drawn"  Silas said nodding towards the dagger in Faiths hand.

    Hearing Silas talk Faith frowned slightly at being called little. I'm probably older than you. she though to herself. Thinking that Silas was human she was unaware that he was twice her age. As Silas talked Faith came to the conclusion that he really meant no harm. His expression and tone of voice helped. Sheathing her dagger Faith forced herself to relax her posture. With Silas on his knee it was easier for Faith to see eye to eye with him. With the knowledge that she couldn't just reach in his mind to get the answers she wanted, Faith dreaded the fact that she actually had to talk. Many days of solitary travel had left her social skill a bit rusty, not that she had any to begin with. "What bring you out this way?" she asked copying the small talk she had heard in towns she passed previously.

Seeing Faith's posture loosen Silas felt her mind's defenses lessen even then they where very strong. Seeing the dagger sheathed he felt that at least he had put the child at ease. At first the girl seemed reluctant to talk then she gave out another small string of words. This sentence had a large impact on him he had never thought or had been asked that "well I honestly don't know the bigger question is why is such a little one traveling by themselves" Silas said.

    Faith was aware that Silas was avoiding the question but she decided not to bring it up. How can I possibly explain whey i'm out her traveling?  How do I explain the dragon blood inside me when I don't even know that myself she wondered dismayed. There were so many things she wanted to say, but she thought that she couldn't. All previous experiences with people had not been very good. People were automatically suspicious as to why a young girl was traveling on her own, as Faith assumed Silas was. The few people that found out that Faith wasn't human reacted violently, never judging Faith as a person but as a monster. Simply enough Faith was out traveling to reach a destination. She didn't know where but her instincts lead her. "I'm sorry for being so suspicious. As you've pointed out i'm  somewhat young and alone, you can never be to carful." deciding that lying would only get her in more trouble Faith chose to answer vaguely. "I'm just traveling, its somewhat of an instinct of mine. Once I get to where i'm going I can get things figured out." Faith explained her reason for traveling giving no specific details. Though Silas really seemed like a nice person Faith though that would all go away if she explain who and what she really was.

Silas could tell the little one was hiding something no matter how small he would like to know. Hearing what she had to say she sounded a lot like himself never knowing where he was going and always going never thinking about it. "maybe the road is not the best place for us to get acquainted it's getting dark maybe we should set up camp if you trust me enough the choice is up to you young one" With that Silas looked at the girl she looked human smelled human unless his noise betrayed him which was unlikely. This you one had something to hide not something small by the way she spoke or the way she could protect her mind and body. She was not human and Silas knew it.

    Shifting from foot to foot not looking Silas in the eye, she had to think things through. Faith was mad that she couldn't aces Sila's mind. For once she was completely in the dark and it was throwing her off. Faith stopped moving and looked Silas in the eye nodding. "Camp sound good." She had all of her supplies with her but had recently ran out of food. She had been planning to stop at the nearest town to forage for supplies but she couldn't do that with Silas around. Not like I can just ask when I'm weak like this. she though bitterly. "Theres a nice grove of trees close to here. We can stop and eat there." She said not noticing how excited she sounded about food. I can just stay wit him until i'm as strong as I was before and make my exit after. she planned to herself.

As they made it over to the clearing Silas sensed a change in her posture she was agitated with or at something great he thought a mad little girl if she even was human but what was "human." Silas thought as they walked from the men of surda the men around Uru'baen to the Spartans in surda all so different but they had one thing in common the called each other beasts. when they reached the clearing it was beautiful. A large grove surround by pine and oak trees. Breathing in the smell of the pines he went to gather some dry wood and hunt some game. "are there any animals or vegetation you like little one" Silas asked Faith "also whats you name little one?" Silas asked he usually wanted to know someone's name before they sat down to have a meal together.

    Faith caught his questions as he left the clearing. "I eat both meat and vegetables and you can call me Faith." She answered. As he left Faith realized she probably should have got his name. I can get it when he gets back. Once Silas was out of sight she turned around and started to set her stuff set up.Faith slept on her own for many days and she usually slept in trees. People didn't usually think to look up when trying to find someone. Faith choose a nice tree and easily climbed it placing her bedroll in the crook of its branches. Hopping down she started clearing the debris away for Silas to camp. once done she became bored. What else is there to do? she wondered as she waited for him.

Hearing her reply Silas went to work gathering a meal of wild mushrooms and four large rabbits and a few wild herbs he remembered had some type of healing properties. Even though Silas was profound with magic and healing was easy enough one could never turn down mother nature she had more magic than all the elves combined.Turning back to thinking to himself he pondered over if Faith was human or not there where many tricks one could use to change there appearance. Though Faith seemed different she still had the primal fear all children had could she be a elf child. That would explain her mind defense capability but no elf would allow a child this far away from Du Welvarden. As Silas made his way back to the camp sight he saw Faith clearing a spot for him? Perhaps for him it was a great gesture but preferred the trees as he walked up to the clearing he called to faith "we should start a fire before it gets dark to cook" He said gesturing to the rabbits he had in his hands.

    As Silas approached Faith saw all the food he had brought. "Finally a good meal." she said smiling slightly. Faith could see that Silas was deep in thought and she began to worry. Hopefully he wont think to much about me, then i'll be easier to forget. she though feeling a bit bad. After she had ate and restored her energy Faith had planned to leave. She saw how Silas genuinely cared and she began to feel guilty. Doesn't matter she scolded herself silently. "Anyways, I cleared some room for us to star a fire and there is lots of wood around so the fire should be easy." Faith said motioning to the area she had cleared. "You can sleep here to but I'm sleeping in a tree." Faith turned and walked away with that, going to collect fire materials. She  somewhat trusted  Silas but she still wasn't sure how much she wanted to open up. As she collected the wood Faith had some time to think. He couldn't have figured me out by now but i'm sure he is suspicious of me, I haven't been acting that normal. she sighed knowing that leaving would only make things more suspicious.  Oh well, I got myself into this situation now I have to get out of it.

Silas was glad Faith had enjoyed what he had gotten she looked like she hadn't eaten in a while. Silas at a few of the mushrooms and some of the rabbit. Silas was still curious though why was she alone was she running from someone or thing or herself. He was looking for something to say when she told him about clearing some room for the fire and himself. "thank you faith for the gesture but there will be no sleep for me tonight someone has to watch out for those bandits or any other vermin that try to come in to our camp by the way my name is Silas pardon my rudeness"  With that Silas walked to find some small twigs the fire didn't have to be large once Faith was asleep He would most likely shift to his wolf form since he had a keener sense of his surroundings and better hearing smell and night vision he just didn't want to scare faith most people didn't take kindly to shapeshifters after he gathered the twigs he set them up in a pile and whispered brisingr and the twigs flared up.

    After Faith was done eating she began to feel the energy seeping back into her body. She sighed happily with her energy and power fully restored. Even with that Faith still not fully read Silas's mind, though now she could read his surface emotions. Because of this Faith could now confirm that he genuinely cared but she could also sense his curiosity. "I need to leave as soon as possible, before that curiosity leads to questions." Faith though upset that she couldn't stay for a few more meals. Faith nodded at Silas's thanks but and began to think about him staying up, night would be the best time for her to escape. "Silas I think it would be better if I stayed up. I have travel on my own for many days and I have become very good at sensing if someone is near." Faith lied to him. Though it was true she could sense someone near easily it was not because travel had trained it, it was because of her powers. Under the darkness of night Faith planned to fly away but first she would wipe Silas's mind of memories of her. Discussion of an mysterious young girl traveling alone would spread only creating difficulty for her. The mind was weakest when asleep so with her newly energized power Faith planned to force her way into Silas's mind and remove the memories. She just hoped that it would work.

"Faith at least take a small rest before you leave so I can preserve some of this rabbit and some of the medicinal made then you can leave if that's fine with you at least that way I can be of some use but if you really want to leave you can your choice " With this Silas smiled at Faith with sincere friendliness he started to walk away when he looked back at Faith feeling sorry for her she seemed so lonely again her secret was in the way perhaps showing her his own secret and she would not be to scared to share with him. But then again he may scare her off by showing her what he could do. Silas sat by the fire waiting for Faith to reply her decision would affect what he would do.

    Faith looked up from her spot next to the fire, narrowing her eyes at Silas. "How do you know that I have plans to leave?" she asked using her tone of voice to imply that she didn't. Silas was right that her choice would be to leave though it wouldn't be what she wanted. Faith desperately longed to talk and sped time with but she thought that she could not. She was not used to the idea of a stable relation ship for she had never had one before so she fled from any interaction. She was like a panicked animal in this sense making her all the more dangerous. Faith hesitated unsure if she should really portray her inner emotions. "I don't really want to."

[Joker]

"Faith i can tell you've had a secret since we first met and the way your posture is. Is how i know you want to leave since you don't want to leave then don't but. if you aren't  comfortable with telling you your secret let me tell and show you mine. the first thing is I am around 200 years old in case you don't know I am a species called ranger. Please do not be frightened " With that Silas laid down his quiver and his bow then he began. Silas hunched and started to shrink fur started to cover his body after about twenty seconds he was a wolf about five and a half feet longs with black gray and white hair. He still had the same eyes he had in his human form black with silver rings Silas sat at his wolf form still around Faiths height. Finally Silas gently brushed Faiths mind still looking her in the eyes.

    Faith stood speechless. She wasn't scared but more in awe. "So you are older than me." She finally chocked out. Relief was the main emotion that she felt, relief that she wasn't the only oddity out there, and relief that she could share her secret. She was still hesitant but she assumed that she had nothing to fear. People were only afraid because she was different after all. Faith cringed at the mental contact still not ready to open that part of her up, she would just have to show him. She spit into her hand wiping the dirt on her face away. Once the dirt was gone a small strip of dragon scales were visible. They were the same color as her eyes and were underneath one corner of her eye to the other corner. Wanting to get the second part over with she swiftly took off her cloak and extended her wings. Faith folded them slightly before shrugging insecurely. "I don't know if there are others like me, are there any others like you?" she asked.

Still in his wolf form Silas tilted his head at the comment Faith had said "So you are older than me" well of course he was she was only a child but there was more. Silas saw and felt Faith cringe in both mind and body both tensing up but relief washed over her, he also saw. Her eyes glowed brighter and she seemed more secure an more sure of herself. When she revealed what she was Silas was amazed out of all his travel he had never seen someone like this "Unique" he thought hearing her question he changed back to his human form. "Well I had a family but they are either dead or scattered but considering you I have never seen one like you and I've traversed all of Alagaesia and I mean all of it. Do you know where or how you where born?" Silas answered.
