Province Rulers and World Politics

With Galbatorix dead and a set of members chosen to be part of a Council underneath Nasuada who will sort of be the Overlord of Alagaesia now, world peace is certain. However, conflict still remains as the different lords of different provinces vie for power. From now on, there will be different kind of "Loyalties" as it were. Instead of army "x" against army "y" it'll be more politics. Force will not always be there, mostly politics. However, some more extreme loyalists will use force in some cases of meeting people from other provinces. These provinces will basically be the cities along with the extended land around them. Most disputes between provinces will be over the land between them as each claims it for their own. However it is not unheard of for two provinces to join in alliance, combining their resources, land, among other things. The provinces will be as such:

Human Provinces:

Province of Carvahall - open
Province of Therinsford - open
Province of Gil'ead - Lord Aelodil
Province of Teirm - Lady Clarissa
Province of Dras-Leona - Lord Ragdar
Province of Helgrind - open

Kingdom of Surda


The Kingdom of Surda has a leader who would never agree to making his kingdom into separate provinces, ergo why it's being one Kingdom. Characters can have alignment to different Provinces and Provinces can expand on their land and ally together. For instance, Carvahall, and Therinsford would be likely to ally and unite the smaller towns and villages around them together in one united Province. In addition, there may be people who are "neutral" as it were in it all. As in the kind of people who just put their hands up and say, "I've got nothing to do with politics. Leave me out of it.". To apply for an open province use the form below and post it in the Create a character board to apply. Anyone who feels he/she has a character more suited to rule a Province that is currently being ruled by someone else's character or just simply would rather be the ruler of that Province can also apply. Whoever the Staff sees as the more suited person for the job will be chosen.

Now with the different Provinces claiming their own land as they vie for power, a leader must arise for each Province. Obviously, for kingdoms like Surda and Farthen Dur there already are kings. However, for the rest of the world, it seems that lords have rose to power. Some of them are of royal blood and have claimed their rightful positions, no matter the reason. Others are ambitious, normal citizens who have rallied enough support through force or politics to be named the Lord of a Province. These Lords will be basically in charge of the Province.

So with that being said, who will be the Lords of these new Provinces? Why, of course, anyone! To apply to become a Lord of a Province is kinda gonna be like making a character. Difference is that you won't be making a character, but rather you'll be introducing who the character is, how+why he rose to power, whether or not he's of royal blood, what Province he chose to rise in power in etc. The applications should look something like this:

Name: Here you put the name of the character.

Birthplace: Again, self explanatory, birthplace of the character.

Bloodline: For instance, is he/she a normal peasant? A farmers son? Royal blood? Explain.

Province: What Province will he/she be going after to rule?

History: Explain the history of this character since the Grand Council was formed and how he/she came to want/be forced into the role of a Lord.

Type: What kind of a ruler will he/she be? Tyrant? Democratic? Aggressive to neighbors etc.?

How: How did he come to power? Politics? Force? What kind of force? What kind of politics?

Main Support: Where does his/her main source of support stem from? Is it because he/she passes laws that help the average man? Or he/she passes laws to help the poor? Basically, what group of people and why.

Why: Why did he/she come to power?

Ambitions: Self explanatory. Does he/she want to expand peacefully, aggressively, or not at all? Those kind of things.

Age: After all, having a completely independent seven year old is a bit extreme.
