Full name: Kieran
Race: Half elf, half ‘modified elf’… explained in history
Side: His own, but that’s against the Varden
Birthplace: Du Weldenvarden (Kieran doesn’t remember this and also doesn’t care)
Age: Kieran was around before the fall of the rangers
Gender: Male
Birthday: Unknown
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Black, medium length (covers his ears)
Weight: 185lbs
Height: 6’ ½’’
Magic User: Kieran is an experienced magic user who is quite fluent in the ancient language, although compared to his sister he doesn’t have quite as much energy at his disposal. He can easily defend his mind against attacks from any number of people (unless they’re experienced in slipping in unobtrusively), but has rather more difficulty in breaking into anyone else’s mind.
Preferred Weapon(s): Kieran most often uses magic to fight, but he’ll fight with a sword that he’s fortified with spells. On rare occasions, Kieran will use a crossbow, but he’s bad with any other kind of bow.
Appearance: Kieran is tall and fairly slender, but he’s much stronger than he looks. His black hair covers his ears, but no farther, and he normally wears a black cape. He also wears a tunic, pants, boots, and oftentimes gloves of the same color. His skin is pale, providing a striking contrast to his all-black outfit, and he claims that he wears all black only because the contrast shocks many people and not because it’s a good style choice.
Kieran wears a one-handed sword strapped to his belt.
Personality: Kieran is most often cold and cruel, freely displaying which side he’s on, although his sly nature allows him to trick people easily. If he ever claims to be on your side at all – no matter which side you’re on – beware of a double-cross, because Kieran works for none but himself. He appears to not care about anything, but this is only because he ignores his emotions. Kieran is also a loner and a wanderer and rather antisocial. He's never loyal to anyone and is completely untrustworthy. He prefers to stay his own master, so he stayed out of Galbatorix's way. He will, however, always take offense whenever someone disbelieves his abilities or doubts his power-- the reason why he killed his sister was, after all, because she was more powerful than he.
--->Likes: Fighting, frightening people,
--->Dislikes: Questions, do-gooders, and people who underestimate him
--->Strengths: His skill with magic and a sword, his ability to ‘lie’ in the ancient language, and his ability to defend his own mind.
--->Weakness: His emotions (if he ever let them out) and his inability to use a bow well at all, and his difficulty in breaking into anyone else’s mind.
--->Fears: He would say he fears nothing, but he fears finding out that there’s someone who could actually kill him in a fight, and he fears his emotions.
Family: One younger sister, Lilira, but she’s dead (she’s actually not, but Kieran doesn’t know that or even suspect it).
History: Kieran and his sister were created by a group of elves trying to create a living superweapon. The elves were working on making creatures with more energy that they could use for spells, and more magical ability as well as strength. In order to do so, they made two half elven, half magically-created children- Lilira and her brother. They developed the process after making Kieran, so Kieran was less powerful than his younger sister.
The two of them escaped together while they were still young – the elves had trained them in the use of magic and whatnot. However, the elves had set up a spell around their area to make sure that whoever left did not remember anything that had happened inside the area, so Lily and Kieran have no memory of where they came from.
The two of them grew up together and on their own, rediscovering their magical abilities. But Kieran soon grew jealous that his younger sister was more powerful than he was, and one night he tried to kill her without warning. He then left, thinking her dead, and that one misdeed ended up turning him into a cunning, evil, and ruthless warrior.
Since then, Kieran has gotten himself into and out of a number of scrapes, seldom with any serious wounds. On occasion, he’ll get himself captured just to make things interesting, but the one time he was captured by the priests of Helgrind was unintentional. He still succeeded in talking his way out of that, though. Kieran seldom works as a spy, but when he does, it’s usually a long affair during which he gives no information and appears to be completely trustworthy until he suddenly turns traitor and leaves.
Anything extra: Kieran’s ability to ‘lie’ in the ancient language isn’t, of course, actually lying. He’s just mastered the ability to say only part of what he’s thinking. For instance, if someone asked him if he agreed with something that he didn’t, he could say “I do” as long as he thought the ‘not’. Or, he could be talking about something completely different. If he said, “I like it,” he could be actually answering your question or he could be talking about a leaf on the tree right next to him. If you could read his mind, though, it would be obvious what he really meant.
