Tashiel, tall and heavily muscled, walked towards the road leading back to Uru'baen. He had recently opened a rift to the Nether but could only stay for a short time. The dark land was so vicious to his body that he had returned within the hour. Now he had to get back to the Grand Council and quickly. Abandoning his guise as a massive traveler, the Fallen Angel spready his silvery wings and jumped into the air.
With three hard downstrokes, the former leader of the Fallen Angels flew towards Uru'baen. As he neared her walls Tashiel felt unease settle upon him. Dropping down to the ground, he used magic once again to alter his appearance so that he looked reasonably normal. His sharpened teeth were revealed as he pulled his lips back and snarled. Someone was nearby and they possessed strength similar to his. But who was it and why did he get uneasy about this?
Just then the man saw a woman who appeared to be human but that he sort of recognized. It he could only place her name then he could be more use. Giving up on hiding anymore, Tashiel moved with purpose towards the woman.
Good day, m'lady. Do you require assistance with anything? Tashiel knew this was another Fallen Angel but she couldn't have been very high ranking for him to not remember her name.

Epitaph had taken an odd job helping a merchant sell fruits. It wasn't great work but she didn't have much else to do right now. A kid had run by and knocked the basket of goods out of her hands and it was all over the street. She was trying to pick it up before any of it got ruined underfoot. She was muttering under her breath. "That bratty kid, he did that on purpose I'm sure of it," she grumbled.
She glanced up at Tashiel and for a moment maybe recognized him but didn't. "With this spilled fruit yes," she said and kept picking up the fallen food.

Tashiel nodded and crouched down to help pick up the fruit. He had witnessed her muttering and knew she had been cursing a child. With a sigh, the Fallen Angel leader placed a pear in the wicker basket and stopped. You never used to be like this Epitaph. What happened to you since we Fell? He had finally been able to remember her name and it shocked him that he couldn't before. Of all the Fallen Angels she had been the hardest to convince of the war. She had been nice and sweet.
Now he was troubled because for years he had missed all of his fellow Fallen but blocked her out. Epitaph had been the subject of many of his talks with Reshiel before they Fell. She was beautiful even back then and now it hurt him to see her like this.
Forgive me, I am Tashiel Silverwing. You appear to have forgotten much but I can tell you, you aren't alone. Your wings are one thing that is similar to your people, as is the halo you probably carry with you. I know this because...let me show you.
With a concentrated effort, Tashiel shed his guise. First he grew back to his almost 8 feet as he took on a feral appearance. His spectral eyes gleamed as the stars seemed to flow back into their depths. He felt his wings spread and grow to a massive 40 feet in wingspan. Soon his hair was as long as it used to be and braided with what looked like miniature stars. Tashiel's skin on his left arm shimmered and his tattoo reappeared and glowed bright gold. His halo on his belt lit up slightly as he took on a celestial shine.
Crouched beside Epitaph was the former leader of the Fallen. His clothes even showed that, shimmering to look like a white toga with a blood red sash and a leather sword belt that his sword was sheathed in. I know you because I was the one who spoke to you all that time ago about joining us in our war. We fought for freedom and were cast down for it to eventually reach peace. I can explain things to you if you would like.

Epitaph looked at him confused when he said her name. How did he know her, maybe someone told him about her she wasn't famous though. She kept picking up the fruit when he shed his appearance. She'd dropped the last apple into the basket just as he'd fully changed. She stared at him for a moment before reaching out and touching his wing to see if it was real. She didn't remember anything about her past but she knew magic could make something look fake. It felt real though. she nodded trying to figure out who he was, sure he'd said his name but she didn't know him as well as it seemed like she should. She stood up holding the fruit basket. "I have no idea who you are, but I've never meet anyone that looks like me or well when I don't hide it that is. Yes please explain."

Tashiel nodded and smiled slightly as he hid his full appearance once more. The humans were more likely to trust him if he looked similar to them. With a sigh he stayed close to Epitaph and began.
Before the dawn of creation there resided a host of gods, beings chosen by Fate to craft the worlds. They sat on a council and started by dividing the work amongst them. Yet it was tough for a darkness known as Chaos was constantly bombarding their homes in the Heavens. One wise deity created me to do battle with Chaos but it was too much. Over time more Angels were created to ward them off, you being one of the Angels.
It was rigorous and mind numbingly tedious work so eventually Reshiel and I decided to revolt. We gathered all our allies and convinced them to turn on the gods. Many lesser deities were destroyed that day but eventually we were toppled. Our punishment for this transgression was exile. We were cast down and told we could return after we completed some quest. Many of us have disappeared or died. I have only met two others, Reshiel and now you Epitaph.

Epitaph frowned and listened nodded at a few points. "If I was there why do I remember nothing of this. I still don't even remember you," she said going over to her cart and putting the fruit basket on it. "All I know is I'm very different from everyone so I hide it and try to make a living. I've traveled a lot but never saw anything familiar. The only part the sounds familiar to me is the fall. I don't exactly remember it but I feel like I used to be something more than I am now. I guess that doesn't matter though. This is my life here now." She went to pick up an apple and her halo fell out of her pocket. She sighed and picked it up.

Tashiel grinned for he knew what was ailing Epitaph couldn't be a lack of knowledge. It sounded more like someone had used magic to wipe her memory. If that was the case then maybe Camarat or Arathale could undo the spells. Just as the Fallen Angel was getting ready to reply he saw Epitaph pick up her halo.
Tell you what, I have a couple friends who can take the spells from your mind. Then you should regain your memories relatively easily. I can even have them show you a mental replay of what that war was like right up to the Fall.

Epitaph nodded slowly. "What if this is not magic though?" she asked. If what he said was true she had lost some memories but she didn't recall anyone doing it to her. Was it possible her lapse in memory was natural? She frowned at her halo then after a moment of hesitation slipped it into her pocket. "If what you say is true I'd like to see what happened even if I can't remember it. How did you know I was like you? I can't tell you are any different from anyone else until you transform."

((I just got access to a laptop again so expect longer posts from now on))
Tashiel, having been asked by others how he was able to identify them without any explanation, had already looked into what it was that gave people away for who they really were. Because of this, the Fallen Angel dipped his head in acknowledgement of the inquiry and began to speak in a very calming tone so as not to scare her away.
Many people without realizing it give off cues that they are not who they appear to be. I, over time, have learned to pick up on these subtle signs and base my opinions on that. With you, it was that you were muttering about a child who had done you wrong and yet you did not yell at them or do anything to bring them harm. Added is that most people who undergo a physical transformation will rarely change their appearance enough to hide from those who know them. I already recognized you but when you gave that sign without meaning to I started to put two and two together. Oh and I am quite the local celebrity but you did not know who I was. That meant you weren't originally from this area and had recently come here looking for something. If you say you don't wish to know the truth because it may not be magic then I understand. Just explain that to my friend who should be here anytime now.
As Tashiel finished speaking, a silence filled the air and trees began to grow stronger without any cause for the sudden boost in health. A small temporal rift opened, shining with the candle light from within, as out of it stepped another man. This man was still around 6 feet and 1 inch tall, having developed a slight stoop from bending so much when the aging took effect. He was no longer a bear of a man instead having a very subtle hint of strength covered by derelict appearance. The man looked to be around 70 years in age, dark grey hair long and braided down his back as well as a thick long grey beard that fell to his stomach. His skin was wrinkling but other than these outer appearances, he still held himself with a slight air of authority.
In this newcomer's hand was a 6 foot long ash wood staff carved with ancient runes. He leaned against it as he examined the land and kept his hand by a shining silvery white sword that looked rather bland but was made out of a combination of diamond and star metal. This sword was sharper and stronger than most others and would only be drawn in dire circumstances.
"Good day, Tashiel. I assume you summoned me to help this woman you are speaking with but would you be so kind as to explain the situation to me before I make a decision?"
Certainly, Arathale. This is a young woman who I believe to also be one of the Fallen Angels like myself. She suffers from memory loss and I was hoping you could help her see what she is missing. Of course I know you can't make her believe but it would be very polite of you to show her the way to enlightenment.
Arathale looked over at Epitaph and bowed his head to her before speaking once more. "I am called many things and have undergone many transformations through my years. My name currently is Arathale of the Grand Council. Really that is simply put a title and nothing more for I seldom attend meetings that do not require me. The reason Tashiel summoned me is because I am one of the few remaining Wizards, a former Dragon Spirit who has taken the path towards knowledge instead of strength. Forgive me for being so rude and not introducing myself before. Now then, this should be painless but it is totally up to you whether we commence or not. My personal opinion is that it would be nice to know but that is for you to decide."
