Having travelled Alagaesia for some time, Isrydia and Arlyn decided to head towards Du Weldenvarden. Initially their plan had been to study more in Ellesmera, but now their plans had shifted to encompass exploring other smaller elven towns within the forest. Less frequently visited, the knowledge held there by the residents and any books they had would be yet to be spread across the world. They hoped they might learn something of interest or that might at least point them in the direction of a discovery. Despite taking their travels at a leisurely pace to give themselves a break after the months of activity during the war, the pair were tired. Today they had reached the forest but instead of trying to seek out an elf settlement, they were relaxing.
"We aren't going to spend too long doing nothing, are we? It's nice to relax but I'm itching to get to an elf town so we can actually meet people and stay in a proper building," Arlyn fidgeted. He was tired as his Rider, but was impatient and frustrated they weren't already in a town. Flying and trees were great and all, but he missed being around other people and buildings.
Isrydia yawned, nestled in the crook of a tree branch with her legs dangling over the edge. "No, not too long. But I swear my feet will fall off if we go any further." The trees were too dense for her to ride Arlyn into Du Weldenvarden. The dragon pawed the ground and rolled his eyes at her. He unfolded a wing to bat her dangling legs, which made the sleepy Rider lose her balance and almost fall off. "Oi!" she exclaimed. He snickered.

Waking up in a fit of hacking Silas slowly propped himself up with his elbows. He moves himself to where he is leaning against the trunk of the tree which he had been sleeping on. He had been moving around Du Welvarden in an attempt to clear his mind of his troubles. Silas had just recently come down with the flu. It could easily be rectified with magic but that would not help his immune system in the long run so he dealt with it. Silas had almost forgotten what being sick was like because it had been so long. Their was a pain in his head but it was unbearable so it wouldn't impair any of his skills.
Gathering up his supplies he had thrown when he had made camp. Stamped on the fire and left the clearing toward a small dirt path rubbing his temples while walking down the path. Silas noticed a louder noise and headed to it. It was not particularly fierce more playful. Silas shrugged and walked towards the noise still rubbing his temple. As he moved a bush away from his face so that he could see another clearing with a dragon and what seemed to be it's rider with it. " Hey over there may I ask your name Rider" Silas called to over the field

Arlyn's head turned first, hearing and smelling the stranger while Isrydia remained too absorbed in relaxing to notice or care overly much. He watched Silas for a moment then decided he was not an immediate threat. Giving her a mental nudge, he alerted his Rider to their company. She sat up and jumped down to a couple of lower branches then finally the ground so to be on the same level as the stranger. He sounded friendly enough and while there were plenty of weird and dangerous creatures in the forest steeped in magic, its people were friends to her. He didn't look completely elven, but there were a lot of elves with human blood and vice versa around, enough for her to think little of it. She knew of the rangers but they were rare enough for her not to conclude Silas must be one.
"Hello! My name is Isrydia and my dragon is called Arlyn. What's yours?" she asked brightly, glad for the company.
Arlyn was keen to stop the resting and wandering. New people offered interest. "What are you doing outside the towns? We're just wandering about finding things to do here and there now the war's over," he said.

Walking deeper into the clearing, closer to the rider and her dragon. Halting a few yards away from them he covered his mouth as he coughed. Holding where he was, he was wondering why a rider was out this far into Du Welvarden away from most towns and villages. This could be an interesting story he thought to himself. Most likely enough she was taking a break from the annoyance of the war and the aftermath. Politics sounded like very tedious work from what people had told Silas about it. Or she could just be out for a relaxing day with her and her dragon that seemed like a fairly reasonable reason in and of it's self. Whatever it was almost any reason was a good reason to relax in the woods.
Nodding as Isrydia spoke Silas was a little surprised at how open and cheery she was " Well met Isrydia and Arlyn it is great to have some intelligent conversation it can get pretty solem here." He said with a smile
Arlyn had finally begun to speak when she finished Silas Replied. " Well other than enjoying the forest and having some peace and quiet not much. Sounds like fun would you mind if I tagged along with you." Finding new things in was always fun to Silas perhaps they would find something worth while.

Isrydia and Arlyn weren't completely relaxed given they had no idea who Silas really was, but they were fed up with being suspicious of everyone. They kept guards up but wanted to be friendly. The world was never going to get anywhere if no one talked to each other out of fear. The war might be over, but the world's healing was up to its people. They intended to do their bit spreading a welcoming warm attitude. "It's good for us to have the company too, we've not been in towns much since the war and when we do people are either wary of us or talk to us as figures to admire rather than normal people," Arlyn said.
"Not that we're not grateful for the praise. It's a bit weird and lonely," Isrydia hastened to add. Glancing around, presently all the dense plantlife showed no hint of any secrets. She knew better than to think there was nothing of interest hiding for them to discover with a little effort. "The forests have so much no one's ever seen before within them, I'd love to seek some out with you," she grinned, scanning the surroundings more carefully for anything of interest. There was a rustle in the leaves, not all of which seemed to be from the wind.

Remembering the experience he had a few weeks ago, Laetri lifted his hand to his lips. His mouth cracked into a smile as the memories came flooding back to him. Never before had he touched a woman with those same thoughts in mind. Never before had he kissed a woman for anything other than court. Normally, he wouldn't have even noticed most women save for a wink as they inhaled his scent infused with magic. Shaking his head, he came back to the present, the man he was talking to frown at him and say, "My pardon, but are you even listening to me?"
Laetri looked at the man, a tinker. He had asked the man to build him the most splendid ring he could, and even supplied him with pure diamond. Encrusted in the head of it was a small sapphire, a beautiful one. Courtesy of Riptide, of course. The old Guardian had taken interest in Laetri's romantic antics and when he asked Riptide if he knew of any beautiful sapphire, the Guardian had immediately spat up the sapphire from the bottom of the ocean. Said a royal had once thrown it in there due to despair.
The tinker, all of the elves assured him, was one of the best. Just one problem; he seemed to not trust Laetri to pay up. Rolling his eyes, Laetri asked, "Do you have the ring or not?" not caring if he sounded rude.
With a clench in his jaw the tinker revealed the ring in his hand before saying, "Now where is my promised coin?" he seemed to be rather pissy.
Extending a hand in exchange, Laetri dropped the amount of gold coins he promised the man as he took the ring and walked away, leaving the man eyeing him from behind. By the time Laetri turned back, just as he reached the outskirts of the city, the tinker had already gone back to his store.
Following his nose, Laetri moved towards the forest. He had smelled Isrydia's scent and couldn't help but get his curiosity peaked. Though he saw her relatively frequently now, he couldn't help the excitement rising in his chest. It was a shame Agaravel wasn't with him; his partner seemed especially tired over the past few days. She seemed content to sleep in the Citadel for today.
It wasn't long before he noticed the duo with a stranger. Fighting against his primal instincts, Laetri stayed calm and normal though a feral voice inside him screamed at him to tear the stranger away from her and ask later. He knew Isrydia hated that kind of attitude. Instead, he crept up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, whispering in her ear with a voice loud enough that even the stranger could hear, "Guess who?" his breath damp against her bare neck.
(Nothing like a hot blooded post to warm up the soul eh?)

( No complaints here leave it to Vlaer to make things weird for Silas lol)
Feeling as though he had not given a proper introduction. Thinking that he would not be to trusting of a stranger that had done what he had just then. Feeling stupid he waited till Arlyn was done talking and replied " If you would excuse me for my rudeness for not explaining to you what I am. In case that you don't know I am a ranger my bad for not explaining that sooner." Feeling better now that he explained himself to a higher extent. " Well I wouldn't know the feeling since no one really even know that my race exists. No worries I am not one to admire one over excessively or at all for that matter." Pulling down his hood he rubbed at a cramp that had been beginning to tense on his neck.
" No worries I am not offended easily my social skills are a little rusty if you can believe it." Chuckling afterwards having not had company in a few weeks Silas was not really kidding when he said this although he tried to make it sound like it was. Perhaps looking around the forest would be good for the both of them. " That's great we can head out whenever you are ready." Noting the sounds of the forest had become quieter there where two options one there was a predator about or there was someone hiding out of sight
Watching as the newcomer crept up on her wrapping his arms around her waist. " So I'm guessing that you two are acquainted then." He said looking quizzing at the man.

((Sorry it took a while, I knew it was my turn I just have been busy))
"Not every day you meet a ranger," Isrydia was well aware of how elusive they were. Rumour and legend more than established fact, it was only those who travelled and went adventuring such as Riders who even knew for a fact they existed. She wasn't even sure she'd ever met one before. From what she heard, mostly they stuck to themselves, and looking at Silas even if they did choose to enter a town they would pass as a half-elf. No one would give them a second glance. She and Arlyn certainly hadn't suspected what he was. It was exciting to finally meet one in the flesh. They knew little of what they were capable of, their politics and social structure, if they even had distinct communities.
Arlyn notice Laetri but thought it was funnier to leave his Rider oblivious. She jumped when he grabbed her then laughed in relief when she smelled his familiar scent and heard his voice. "Laetri, where did you come from?!" she turned her head back to grin at him. Remembering herself and not wanting to make Silas feel left out, she broke free of his hold and stood next to him. A blush crept over her cheeks. "Yes, yes we are," she said, a little embarrassed in case they had made Silas feel awkward.
Arlyn was finding her awkwardness really rather funny. "Yeah, that's one way of putting it," he teased, then looked around them. "No Agaravel?" he observed with disappointment. She was a lot of fun to spend time with. "Silas, Laetri, Laetri, Silas. We've just met and have nothing better to do so thought we might explore a little. Know of anything interesting nearby? I'm pretty sure I can hear something," he asked. It was a faint hum, too quiet for Isrydia's ears to detect, but definitely there unless his imagination was playing tricks on him.

Giving a toothy grin, Laetri had cogs working in his brain. He had caught on the last few sentences traded between the people in the clearing. He had new met a Ranger, though he had a relatively limited knowledge about them. Eyeing the Ranger, his eyes gave off a mysterious glint. It was halfway between dangerous, aggressive, curious, and polite. The rude part of it wasn't from Laetri himself, much as it was from his feral instinct as an Elf to protect who he considered his mate. Quickly he hid that part of the glint in his eyes. Knowing Isrydia she would scold him for such thoughts. His politeness got the best of him though as he smiled politely at the Ranger and began, "My pardon for both the intrusion and my rudeness. It's a pleasure to meet you. Just in case you haven't figured it out yet, I'm an Elf and a Rider. A pleasure to meet a Ranger after all the stories I've heard."
Having heard Arlyn Laetri raised an eyebrow and said, "Why yes, actually. There's a small lake in the forest Riptide told me about. He said it seemed to be blessed or something. What I wouldn't give to take a dip in it.." Deciding to tease Isrydia with Arlyn, he gave a mischievous grin as she squirmed out of his arms and to his side. He bent down slightly and exhaled on her ear, something that had gotten him into a lot of trouble before with women. He didn't mind though and he winked at Arlyn as he said to him, "She is rather fun to tease isn't she?" Ever since that incident a few weeks ago, he felt as though Arlyn had become a second brother to him and he loved him almost as much as he loved Agaravel.
"Sorry, she's been exhausted since the start of the week. She's not had much time to rest so I'm all you've got for today bud." he said to Arlyn, half teasing and half understanding. After hearing everyone out, Laetri started to count down on things to say. "Yes, we are acquainted, though that's not all I say to help me sleep at night." giving a knowing wink at Isrydia as he finished his sentence.
Unable to help himself, Laetri went ahead and wrapped an arm around Isrydia from her side. Not only did he enjoy the warmth of her touch, it was also a primal need to prove to himself and Silas that he would protect her and was capable of doing so. She might not appreciate it, considering she just wiggled out of his arms but such was life. Looking back at her he said, "Well if you asked me, I'd say I came from your dreams. Though that's just my ego talking."
Turning finally again to Silas he said, a now genuine smile on his face, "You seem relatively ill. My guess is you're doing it the manual way to strengthen your immune system? Smart man, also strong. It's kind of sad to see how much people now rely on magic to heal from disease and physical wounds. It's rather gratifying to see someone like you using his head."

Nodding at her comment " To be honest I haven't seen one in quite some which isn't to odd considering the events that have transpired as of late." Semi surprised that she even had a clue as to what a Ranger was most people though that it was more of a profession, or a skill set. Silas had met many people in his years but these three infront of him gave off a strange aura. Perhaps this will be more interesting than I had previously expected, he thought. Perhaps Silas could learn more about the riders and about them since his father had spoken very little of them and the Riders had always interested him. Nonetheless they would hopefully all learn something at least that was a reachable goal.
Silas laughed as Isrydia began to blush " Well it's nice to see that love is in the air." Looking over at Laetri he noticed the slight glare that he was giving him, he only retorted with a smile. Walking over to where they stood Silas reached his hand out to Laetri. " It's is no intrusion at all and, it is also pleasure to meet you as well. It's not every day you meet two riders in the same place, well to me it isn't any ways." Finding it funny how these two where acting around each other Silas thought back to his parents. They had never really loved each other they only really did it to ensure another generation. These two seemed different although Laetri seem a little brunt with his actions it didn't take a scholar to see that they enjoyed each other.
The noise that Arlyn had heard might had been the lake that Laetri was talking about but there was no way to be sure unless they checked. Du Welvarden was so unexplored that it wouldn't be to surprising if they found multiple secrets. Looking over to Laetri as he spoke Silas replied " I'm still fairly sick but it is only a cold nothing too serious, but I agree with you it is very sad that many people rely souly on magic to solve all of their problems."

((Sorry again))
Arlyn was enjoying seeing Isrydia teased. "That she is," he agreed with Laetri. He was a little disappointed at the news Agaravel would not be joining them, more so than he'd expected himself to be. He must be fonder of the other dragon than he had realised. Still, even without her, the four of them gathered seemed as good a bunch as any to have an adventure with.
Isrydia blushed at Silas' comments of love, but didn't make a move to push Laetri away, liking the closeness with his arm around her too. So long as the stranger wasn't uncomfortable, that was fine. She hadn't thought much on healing and curing sickness with magic as opposed to boosting the immune system, as her magical abilities still lacked the strength to cure herself of an ailment. It had never really crossed her mind not to just let her immune system do its thing. Anything major she'd seek a healer. As she improved her healing powers, an area of magic she had not focused on much, she might be able to do more complex things and use it more often. Silas seemed very sensible to her to want to keep his own natural defences strong. After all, that would keep the diseases away in the first place, saving him a good deal of strength. It was also good to have a back-up in case magic failed.
This lake piqued hers and Arlyn's interests. "What do you say to finding this lake, then?" she asked the small company.
Arlyn cocked his head to one side. "When you say in the forest, do you mean nearby or anywhere in all Du Weldenvarden?" he asked, wanting to find out a little more to aid the search.
"Hey, if we don't find it, maybe we'll still find something!" Isrydia replied cheerfully. The dragon looked at her thoughtfully for a moment. Then he flicked his tail from side to side as a broad and mischievous toothy grin spread across his face. Without warning, he bounded off in a random direction, tearing through the trees.
"Bet I find it first!" He was feeling especially childish today.

Laetri reached out with his free arm towards Arlyn and was about to call him back when a mischievous grin spread across his face and he let his arm fall back down next to his side. Clearing his throat he said, his voice heavily hinted with amusement, "Well I guess I forgot to mention the fact that Riptide and most any other person from the Water Branch can and probably will pop up at that lake considering it's a blessed body of water. He'll be in for a surprise." throwing his head back slightly to give a chuckle.
"Well I guess we should probably follow him before he gets lost. Besides, I am not going to miss out on the chance of seeing his face when he finds the lake and Riptide shows up. Riptide I know for sure will show up there, anyway. Maybe even Agaravel. Doubt anyone else will though unless given proper reason which is doubtful really. Anyway, Milady, after you." he said, stepping away from Isrydia and making a gesture with his arms across his chest as he gave a mock bow to her, the same grin still on his face.
Not bothering to hide himself in the deepest part of the Citadel where Laetri resided, Riptide began wondering around the Citadel as he pondered what to do. Laetri had run off in search for that woman he had fallen in love with and Agaravel had just woken up and was in no mood to play with him. Pondering on that thought, Riptide realized he was the Guardian who most seemed to joke around and play. The others more often than not seemed to be so serious. Only one Guardian could he ever remain at ease with; Terra Nova. The rest he always seemed rather edgy around. Inferno for.. well, obvious reasons. No one would really appreciate if they accidentally ended up causing ruptures on the planet. Ender seemed to be in a world of his own, both literally and technically so they never really ended up with one another that often. Pushing all those thoughts elsewhere in his head as he sensed a disturbance in one of the blessed lakes in the Elven forest. Not that anyone was in it or around it - not immediately, anyway. But there was a presence nearby it that he could not have mistaken if he tried. It was definitely Laetri. Quickly, he galloped in the water and imagined himself in the lake and after a few steps he found himself in that same lake. Without bothering to wait, he galloped to the surface and stood next to the lake. Not many knew of the Guardians and fewer still even knew much about them. So it wasn't like as though there were many people who would recognize who or what he was even if they saw him outside of the lake. Though most would notice the fact that although his body was that of a horse he lacked proper skin - instead his body seemed to be made of pure solid water. Almost like ice, but not exactly. Instead of being clear color his skin was a pure sapphire blue.
Thinking to himself, Riptide thought, Now all there's left is to wait. just as Agaravel surfaced behind him. Eyeing her he waited a moment before asking, "Hm? What brings the change of mind? If I had tried talking to you two minutes earlier you would've bitten my face off."
Snorting a response Agaravel retorted, "Well when there is someone here that I love and two others whom I care deeply for, I can't help it. Back off, Riptide. As if you're not cranky when you wake up." and headed off to where she felt Arlyn. Not as though she could miss where he was considering he was crashing through just about every tree and making as much noise as possible. She gave off a roar - not a challenging or threatening roar. A roar to confirm that she was there.
When you die, your world ends. The world may go on, but in your eyes, the world ends with you.
