How do I join/create a roleplay? I can only join open ones, right? If I start my own thread, what are some general tips you have?

Yes, it's only open threads you can join. However, plenty of people will be up for starting a thread! You can PM someone if you really want a thread with one of their characters, or make a thread here (link) if there's an idea you have asking for people to join in a thread or plot idea, or just to generally say you're open to anything and want to get stuck in. When starting your own thread, do whatever you want, as long as it fits with the rules, plot and setting! Currently the war has ended two/three months ago, the Empire and Varden no longer exist since the Empire was defeated and there was no need for a Varden without them, and the former Varden members are in power. Nasuada is in charge but has a Council to limit her power so a dictator like Galbatorix can't rise up again. A good place to start is to think of where your character would be right now. What were they doing in the final battle at Uru'baen when Galbatorix was defeated? Who's side were they on? How do they feel about peacetime, and the current leaders? Think about how they would have spent the last couple of months in response to the huge shift in politics. Try and think of a goal they might want to achieve, even if that goal is just 'have fun' or 'find something more worthwhile to do'. You could start a thread with them taking the first steps to achieving that! Anything you think would be interesting to see your character or another character do, something that might develop the character. I'm up for starting a thread with you if you'd like  With my characters I have Isrydia and Arlyn in Ellesmera, Throkk in Belatona, Eragon, Saphira, Farria, and Sheratan (and Glaedr's Eldunari) around Uru'baen, and Ri'Shei who's been wandering so could potentially be anywhere. |

Thank you for the help. I already have my character's perspective on the politics down- She is not very pleased with magic users being watched. She already marched into Nasuada's court and demanded not to be watched, but obviously, the answer was no, and her former oaths to the Varden prevented her from hurting Nasuada. I could start an RP with Ri'Shei, since my character (Caelyn) is also doing whatever at the moment. Should I start the thread?

Maybe they could meet up in Carvahall or The Spine? Caelyn is both respected and feared by the majority of people there (Assuming most of them know her from her service in the Varden), so that's really kind of where she spends her free time.

Sure! I don't think magic users are being watched so she doesn't have to worry about that. Ri'Shei was a keen Empire supporter and still doesn't trust the Varden to be strict enough in maintaining order in the kingdom, so they might have some disagreements there. With the war over it doesn't have to get violent, she isn't looking for a fight but is pretty defensive. Without a purpose right now she'll help out wherever seems important, she doesn't care who was on what side - it's more their ideals she has issues with. You can go ahead and start the thread if you'd like! If you get stuck with how to start it let me know and I can do it instead.

Just made some quick changes to Caelyn's character profile. Now she plans to take the throne from Nasuada, but she is trying to be subtle about it and she still acts friendly towards Nasuada.

OK, I'll make the thread and post a link when it's done. This site deviates from the books a lot, you don't even need to have read them at all really! Thanks for letting me know you made an edit to her profile. If you ever want to do that again, always let a member of staff know.
