Half-Elves
Average lifespan: 250 years
Average Height: 5-7 feet
Average Weight: 100-200 lbs
Appearance: Being half elf and half human their features vary greatly. Some of them may look a bit more like elves while others take more after their human side. Their angled ears aren't quite so sharply pointed as an elf's and while they are lithe and sometimes slightly taller than most humans they do not have all the grace that elves have. While they can grow facial hair it often is rather thin and slower to grow in. They can be quite diverse with their skin tone ranging from very dark to very pale though their features have a softer more elegant shape.
Personality: They are not always accepted by either humans or elves which can lead to them being rather independent and skillfully hiding their halfblood to blend into one or the other races. They often don't feel like they belong to any of the races. Depending on who raised them (human or elf) greatly influences their personality. With elves being strict vegetarians and their peaceful way of life in sharp contrast to the fast paced adaptable and ambitious ways of humans.
Alignment: Finding themselves between two races but not belonging fully to either, most find it easier to join the humans who are less strict and more adaptable. But given their elf roots they have no love for the empire.
Those who choose to live a life with the elves generally keep to themselves with loyalty only to the elven king or queen.
Special Traits: Due to their elven heritage they have increased speed, strength, agility and endurance though only about half as much as a full blooded elf.
While all elves can use magic only about 60% of half elves have the ability and must take time to study the ancient language.

Half-elves are something of a myth. Most do not believe they even exist as they are exceptionally skilled at blending in with whatever race they have chosen to live among.
Half-elves are not to be confused with the elf like traits granted from the bond of a dragon rider. Which can slowly change a human rider to appear more elven.
