Other name: "Rain" - it was the only way he could pronounce his name when he was a small child. Only his parents and sisters call him this.

Preferred Weapon(s): Rayane is a skilled swordsman. He wields a sword that was passed down from his father as a fifteenth birthday gift. It is a medium-to-thin blade with some scratches, and needs to be sharpened occasionally. The hilt is an odd green-brown color, various designs are engraved into it. The handle is also worn. He also carries a small dagger, but prefers his sword.
Personality: Rayane is a friendly guy. He is not very shy and prefers to talk in order to resolve something rather than to fight it out. He places everyone around him as an equal, and usually is good with giving respect. When he is in a bad mood he has been known to take out his anger on others by snapping at them. He has a way of attracting people with his bright, almost perpetual smile. Rayane is also very independent though he doesn't mind working with others. He also is a little flirty, and also doesn't mind a little attention from the ladies.
Likes/Dislikes: Loves to meet new people, the outdoors as well as the city, and the ocean. The ocean has always entranced him. He likes laughing and having a good time, and loves adventure and music. He dislikes alcohol, enemies (obviously) and cold, stony people who often make unnecessary snide remarks. He also dislikes anyone who insults him, his race, or his family. Other dislikes include closed, dark spaces (he is claustrophobic) and cold weather, as he was raised in Surda.
Family: Rayane's family is still alive and well. His father is Sellion Edamon, a former blacksmith who has lived in Reavstone his whole life. His mother is Ellie (Elizabeth) whom was born in Teirm. Rayane has two younger sisters, Belle (17) and Maeli (13). Both live with their parents in Reavstone.
Brief History: Rayane was born in Reavstone, Surda. His childhood was pleasant and merry. Rayane had always been an adventurous boy; he used to love to pretend he was fighting various enemies. His days often consisted of helping with his father and visiting the beach, where he often fished and swam. He is very protective of his sisters and loves them, he often brought them to the beach with him to play. His mother taught him most survival skills, and other things such as reading and writing.
Rayane eventually grew older and matured. His awareness grew about the war raging on in the north. He eventually figured out that he didn't want to be a blacksmith like his father. His father was disappointed at this news, but he came to accept it. Rayane had always dreamed of exploring the world and doing the world some good. His mother, Ellie, convinced Sellion to pass his sword down to Rayane. On his fifteenth birthday, Sellion presented the blade to Rayane, who was ecstatic. Rayane vowed to train as hard as he could to become a master swordsman.
Three years later, Rayane chose to leave his home in Reavstone to search for his place in the world. His parents agreed that it was for the best, and they and his sisters finally bade him farewell. Sellion gave him a trusty horse, Rincavor, to help him along the way. Rayane would never forget his family's kindness; he knew he would return one day.
Some time later, Rayane left the country of Surda and found himself exploring Alagaesia. He visited the cities to gain knowledge about the war and the enormous land. He spent a lot of his time in Teirm, where the ocean gave him a sense of familiarity and comfort to him. Rayane eventually learned about the Varden, but he still is debating whether to join or not. Either way, when evil strikes, he would be there to fight back.
Anything extra: Rayane is often on the move, appearing here or there at anytime. He also answers any plea for help (this is somewhat of a weakness of his; it is probably due to the protectiveness he had over his sisters while growing up).

I hope nobody minds the nearly perfect childhood, it just seems that almost everyone's family or parents on this forum was somehow killed or separated. Including my own character, Cirtolthiel.
