Both deceased, killed by a Shade
Brief History: He spent most of his childhood between Osilon and Gil'ead. When he was 30, his parents were killed by a Shade sent to scout out the way into Du Weldenvarden. He then spent time with the elves training in magic, and with Huan, a human who was a master of weapons and how to wield them. He is now a mercenary for hire, and always is waiting for news of the Shade that killed his parents.
When he learned of his parent's deaths, he went mad with grief for a time, and in his thirst for revenge, hunted down and ambushed anything he thought might have had any knowledge of his parents' deaths, and slew them. He showed no mercy to men, Urgals, beasts, or anything that could speak coherently. Afterwards, he wandered aimlessly, until he came upon one of the desert tribes that roamed the Hadarac Desert. There, he lived for a time and learned many languages including Urgal, for the tribesmen and women met many things in the desert. He then left them 20 years later. All told, it had been 30 years since his parents were killed. While in the desert, he had bulked up considerably, and was very tan. He then traveled back to Du Weldenvarden, determined to become strong enough in magic in order to defeat the Shade. After another 30 years, Aramil left Du Weldenvarden, setting out for Surda, hoping to gain information about the whereabouts of the Shade. As an occupation, he decided to become a mercenary in the service of the Varden to keep his sword, bow, and magic skills up to par, but also because he saw the advantage of being paid to hunt down and kill the Shade that slaughtered his parents.
Anything extra: He received his weapons and armor from the elf smith Rhunon
