Full Name: Emily Rorik
Other Name:None
Race: Human
Side: Empire
Birthplace: Uru'baen
Age:29
Gender:Female
Birthday:Equivalent of August 21st
Eyes:Emily's eyes are a light amber color.
Hair:Emily's hair is dark blond. She crops her hair short to keep it out of her eyes and face and also to set herself apart from other women.
Weight: 120 lbs.
Height: 5'10"
Magic User: Yes, and she knows enough in the ancient language to carry on a basic conversation.
Clothing:Emily owns a plethora of clothes, few of which she actually wears and nearly all of them are kept in Uru’baen where she has a residence, though she spends little if any time there at all. On a day to day basis Emily wears a thin under shirt beneath some light chain mail armor. Over the chain mail she wears a tunic; color usually changes day to day, belted at the waist. She usually wears a pair of sturdy yet flexible leggings that are black in color.
There are rare occasions when she might wear something different.
Emily wears two swords. One is on her back and the other belted at her waist. She also keeps a knife on her belt and another in her boot.
Preferred Weapon(s): Emily carrys two swords and two knives. She prefers to use the swords, the knives are just in case of an emergency or in times when stealth is needed. Both the swords and the knives are ordinary.
Personality:Emily is very strange; at times her mood remains stable and at other times she goes completely berserk almost like a bloodlust. Although her explosive rage is always triggered by a memory, or by someone trying to harm one of the few people she has left, her rage is still let out more than one would think.
Emily is only a result of her upbringing, or at least the conditions she was brought up in and the consequences of her past. Emily is very calm, analytical, and prepared. Emily expects and anticipates that people will try to attack her and so she always stays prepared expecting the worst and hoping for the best. She generally looks at options mentally before immediately jumping to a decision that is unless the situation calls for a decision immediately.
Emily thinks of her mind as her only sanctuary and as such she guards it with more zeal than her own life. She is very stubborn and rarely changes her mind about something or someone, she is very single minded in that manner. Emily possesses great skill with the blade, she considers mental strength as or more important as physical strength, she is very clever and very knowledgeable as well is immensely strong. Emily takes great care of the remaining member of her family and her friends, although her friendship is hard to earn.
Emily has great personal strength; she never doubts herself or second guesses anything she might do. Emily, once she has set her mind to something, finishes it instead of doing it half-way. To her all situations call for all or nothing at all. If she does something she does it 100% or not at all.
Likes/Dislikes:Emily jumps on any opportunity to get out of Uru'baen no matter where that opportunity may take her. She likes to train and loves being up against a challenge. She likes the rain because its refreshing, and she likes to see Alagaesia because it gives her something good to fight for.
Emily hates Uru'baen and thinks its only merit is the fact that her sister lives there. She dislikes those that are stupid. Most of all, Emily loathes the King with every fiber of her being.
Family:Mother (Alice Lyrhun): Killed by Galbatorix's men
Father (Titus Lyrhun): Killed by Galbatorix's men
Sister (Lyra Lyrhun): Living in Uru'baen
Brief History:Emily was born nearly thirty years ago to a quite affluent family within Uru’baen. She lived happily with her parents and her sister Lyra. Unfortunately their peace was shattered. Emily’s father’s sympathies had lain with the Varden and before he could move his family from Uru’baen it was discovered that he was leaking vital information to the Varden. When news of the leak reached Galbatorix he immediately put both of Emily’s and Lyra’s parents to death.
Rather than killing Emily and Lyra they were brought to the castle to be raised and trained to assist Galbatorix in various ways. Both were taught unmercifully, the training methods they were put through were extremely rigorous, difficult and painful, both mentally and physically. Before long both girls grew to hate Galbatorix and most of the things associated with him.
When they were 15 and 12 they were brought to training fields outside the castle. So far they had only been taught and had no real sparring experience. For many years they had been confined to seeing very few people and so being able to meet new people and make potential friends became something huge for both of them; however they would always be part of each other.
At first, neither of them was very successful, but both began to apply their lessons and they became very skilled with sword and could speak the Ancient Language in a rudimentary and basic way, at least enough to get them by. Within 5 years they had completely eclipsed their tutors in skill.
At this time Emily was 20 and Lyra 17. Emily had secretly gotten engaged to a captain in Galbatorix’s army. Both knowing that they could not live in Uru’baen, and also at the urgings of those around them including Lyra, they planned to elope and escape from Uru’baen to live their lives how they wanted. They made their escape and were married to go to live in Therinsford. Within 3 years they had 2 children and had purchased a farm with the money they had brought and some money they had made. At that time they finally thought they had escaped the Empire’s clutches forever.
Galbatorix had been angered by Emily leaving, he had spent far too many resources and far too much time crafting her into his tool, plus he still had another purpose for her to fulfill…
Galbatorix’s men had tracked Emily and her spouse down and one night while she was away assassins, disguised as men from the Varden, swept into her house and killed her husband and children. When she returned home she became so outraged that she was able to kill them with merely her body. After she had gotten her vengeance she searched the bodies and discovered that they were ‘from the Varden’. As such she immediately left for Uru’baen. Her vengeance was not yet complete and she was going to make sure that no one else suffered the same fate as her husband and children.
Emily was accepted back by the ever clever Galbatorix after hearing her story. She immediately went back to her training and applied herself like never before. She may have been gone for a long time, but her skill remained undiminished. After a few more years she was finally put to work by Galbatorix.
Later she was ordered to touch the dragon eggs. The one that hatched was amythest with veins of lighter purple running throughout it.
Anything Extra:Emily has a dragon named Amathysia
Dragon's profile
Name Amathysia
Color: Amythest
Age: 2 months
History: Amathysia has not been "living" for the longest time, but she existed in her egg for many many years. The moment Emily touched her egg she knew it was time to hatch, she had finally picked her rider at long last. For two months now Amathysia has been alive and she has grown extremely attached to Emily. She has also undergone some training from Galbatorix with Emily about being a rider.
Personality: Amathysia is actually quite mellow which is ironic considering how short a fuse Emily has, although Emily never goes off on her. She considers menial tasks a waste of time and rarely ever does anything that she would not want to, but as long as Emily wants to do it Amathysia is completely fine with it. Amathysia is loyal to a fault, but only to Emily. There is nothing that she would not do for Emily no matter the consequence. Amathysia is also slightly sadistic, she likes to cause pain, but she knows there is a time and a place for everything so she saves it for whenever she is allowed the time.
Specialties: Amathysia is naturally suited to the sky; her lean body shape and fine muscle tone help much with that. Amathysia is very, very intelligent, and she retains information like a sponge does water. She is also very skilled at using ever part of her body as a weapon. As such she is almost instinctually suited to battle. Lastly she is skilled at calming Emily.
Example Post: Emily felt Amathysia’s powerful muscles contracting under her legs. She could feel Amathysia’s raw power flow through her veins. She was grateful that she had Amathysia. Ever since Emily was forced to leave her younger sister, Lyra, Emily had been unable to voice her troubles to anyone beside herself. Until this point she had lost nearly everything to death. First she lost her parents, then her husband, and most painfully her children. But then something miraculous happened. She had gone back to Galbatorix, probably as insane as him, wanting revenge for all she had lost, but by doing that she gained more than just a chance at revenge, she gained Amathysia, and with her, happiness.
Emily dosed on the padded saddle. The sun was her blanket and Amathysia’s neck her pillow. Emily quickly shook herself awake and reminded herself of her purpose. She was her to capture or kill, preferably capture, the one who had killed several Imperial assassins over the past few weeks. Thus far she didn’t even know the name of the killer nor did she know what they looked like.
Emily yawned widely and rubbed an eye. She needed real rest. So far her journey had led her from town to town and now to the Spine. Emily had been trying to locate the one she wanted with magic. However the right words wouldn’t come to mind. Luckily she had a general area where the one she wanted would be. She had been told by a recently returned trapper that one usually stayed out in the Spine near the sea. The man had seen a sword in the person’s camp, but had never actually come face to face with the person.
“Amathysia, lets set down and make camp over in that patch of trees, there seems to be good cover there.”
” Okay. Do you mind if I go hunting? I haven’t eaten in the past week…
Emily smiled to herself. She heard a certain edge to Amathysia’s voice that made it rather easy to glean that Amathysia hadn’t tortured anything recently. “It’s fine by me. Just be back by morning I want to finish this quickly.”
With that Amathysia started to descend to the ground just as the sun ducked behind the mountains leaving a golden halo around them.
