Fear washed through S'il as he saw the Elf trespassing upon his property. Why fear? Because it was one of the only emotions he felt. His isolation had forced him back to a primitive state. Complex feelings and emotions were replaced by rudimentary ones. No longer did he care about growing stronger. No longer did he care about being the best. His only care was that of survival.
Why?
Because that was all an animal desired. Survival of the fittest. There were two elementary principles of survival. The first merely forced one to hunt to avoid starving. Hunger was normal, and only by hunting could it's torturous feeling be held back.
The second was the protection of your territory and family. Trespassing was forbidden, and only times creatures trespassed in the wild, was when they were either searching for food, or for more territory. Neither of these two extremes were desired, and would only decrease one's chance of survival. It went against the basic tenants of survival. Therefore, when S'il saw the elf, fear replaced his predatorial contempt.
He quickly contacted Kail to warn him. Upon being contacted, Kail swooped from his short distance from their home to intercept the trespassing elf's progress through the Du Weldenvarden forest. S'il also went to study the invader, making sure to keep a safe distance. Even a trained Elf couldn't be able to track the stealthy S'il, who had been hunting and hiding for as long as he could remember.
Above head, S'il saw the blue gleam of Kails' scales. The other Elf's attention was caught as well. Within the short moment the trespasser invested into his transfixation of Kail, S'il launched himself forward. Tackling the other elf to the ground, S'il emitted a fierce roar. Using his nails, he sliced at the cheeks of the other elf. Screaming with horror, the ambushed Elf barely managed to throw off S'il. It was a combination of S'il being unprepared for retaliation, the other Elf's strength, and a bit of luck.
Not willing to harm S'il, the other Elf summoned up his remaining energy to burst forth with immense speed in the opposite direction from S'il and Kail's territory. S'il smirked as he watched the retreating trespasser.
Kail who had been watching the scene with his keen dragon vision from above, let out an immense roar. He soared forward, staying above the Elf and keeping up with his pace with relative ease.
Don't wate your time, Kail, S'il touched the mind of his companion to speak to him for the fist time of the day. He's not worth our time.
Kail grunted in agreement, but not without a reply, He will be back.
...and when he is, we will be ready, my friend. With that, the two went back to hunting for food. Both were contempt for the time being. If he did come back, the two most certainly would be ready. After that, they were expecting him to come back. A defeat as embarassing as that would dishonor one. Elves desired honor, and tried their best to appear as honorable as possible. The trespasser would most certainly not allow such a defeat to slide without any vengeance of some sort...
