As the day finished and the sun hid in the seemingly endless horizon, threatening the arrival of night, a lonely figure walked among the streets. He wore a long cape hiding most of his body and a ribbon on his head hiding the pointy ears that would give away his identity.
Although Fenrir knew he could have easily used a spell to hide his identity he also feared that when he did use magic that he would be sensed by every magician in town and be captured before he had time to actually do anything at all.
Above the city, Loki flew in circles among the clouds to avoid detection. The Silver male Dragon had reached approximately the size of a house so they decided that he should stay away for the time being.
‘‘I still think this plan is foolish’’ a known voice said in Fenrir’s head, it was a cavernous and deep voice capable of intimidating the biggest predator. Fenrir grinned and responded in thought.
‘‘Maybe so. But it’s the only one we’ve got.’’. The Dragon wasn’t pleased with his Riders willingness to get himself out in the open like that as he feared that if they were caught their fate wouldn’t be very pleasant. Fenrir felt Loki’s insecurity towards this and re-assured him that nothing would happen.
As agreed they severed the mental link temporarily so that Fenrir could fully protect his mind from any nearby magicians. This felt strange for Fenrir as in the couple of years that Loki and himself had been together they always shared a mental link now it was gone, despite temporarily.
Now Fenrir only had to make his way to imperial palace. He clutched his swords hidden in their sheath as if it were a simple walking stick. Fenrir knew what he had to do and even tough he himself wasn’t pleased with how he had to do it, he knew it had to be done. He was joining the Empire’s troops.
