{Some parts will be 3rd omniscient, since Vosa obviously would have no idea what is going on outside her egg}
"Nervosa..." She heard the sweet voice say from out side, along with a tap that echoed throughout he hollow black egg, webbed with red. She replied with an answering tap, her small egg tooth tapping the shell, but not breaking it yet, rewarded with a calming, contented thrumming.
The snow white dragon thrummed in a pleased manner when her hatchling returned the tap, but couldn't help but wonder why the one she'd named Nervosa wouldn't hatch. Her two brothers had already hatched, one was snow white, like herself, but had ice blue eyes, like their father, Van Nuys. The other male was green with silver eyes.
She turned to the pile of around 497 eggs, and went through them each, hoping, but knowing by now that if they weren't fertile by now, they wouldn't ever be, tapping on the egg, only to be greeted in silence.
She thrummed pleasantly when her mate could bee seen from the cave, a black splotch in the sky. Her thrumming slowed, and came to a dead halt when she saw the look in his eyes, even from so far away.
Drrakks where coming.
Van slammed his landing in the cave entrance, a fire burning in his ice blue eyes.
"Grab the hatchlings, I have the egg, we have to get out of here, now."
Van snarled. He swooped up Nervosa's egg in one of his black claws while the snow colored dragon swooped up the hatchlings. She could see from the cave mouth the huge creatures coming to kill the egg and hatchlings, and she let out a warning hiss, both adult dragons had they're hackles raised.
The black and white pair dove out of the cave, abandoning the decoy eggs, along with any late hatchers, to the mercy of the hideous beasts coming to kill they're children.
One tried to follow the pair, and when Van turned, in an attempt to protect his mate, he loosened his hold on the egg, and it slipped out of his reach, and into the depths below.
The snow dragon shrieked in agony, and tried to dive for her egg, only to pull up sharply, distracted by the large drrakk trying to take a swipe at her two surviving young. Hackles raised, she struck out at the foul beast, her teeth ripping into it's throat, and pulled, decapitating it.
The once odorless beast was now releasing a horrid stench as it dropped to it's watery grave, green acidic blood spewing from the base of it's neck.
With Van's urgings, the ice dragon flew away with a heavy heart, knowing that her daughter was sinking to the bottom of the ocean, and any potential eggs left over where being cut into by the other drrakks.
The black egg floated to the bottom of the ocean, rolling around the ocean floor for years, until a wave slowing rolled it onto the beach of Heledir's port.
The dragon's heart had frozen, metaphorically speaking, from the cold years on the ocean floor, away from any contact with any animals or humans. Perhaps a rider could change that, but for now the Onyx egg laid in the sand, alone under the starry moonlight.
Where'd you go?
Were the angels that lonely?
Couldn't they suffice for anybody else?
Can't everybody just lie to me?
She's home, she's home, crying for me now.
Every night on a Monday.
I will visit the same spot that I hate.
Yes, the place that baby loved.
Now she can taste it. It took her away.

Incomplete[/s] /Complete {That means I'm done}
So, thus explaining the whole 3/500 egg thing, most of those eggs are a decoy for Drrakks and other egg suckers.
Her rider can just happen to stumble upon the egg, pick it up, ect. The OPEN only kicks in AFTER Vosa's got a rider
[/i]And I.
I can still hear that scream.
It's still lingering in the air, everywhere, mother please, save me.
Grab my hand, I can't, I can't.
I can still see that face, sink beneath the waves.
Baby, please breathe for me give me time I am here.
