Full Name: Megara
Other name: Meg
Race:: Elven Rider
Side: Varden
Birthplace: Du Weldenvarden
Age: 135
Gender: Female
Birthday: August 3rd
Eyes: Meg has violet cat-like eyes.
Hair: Meg has curly auburn hair that when fully let down, comes down to her thighs. However, she wears it in a ponytail most of the time, especially when fighting.
Weight: 108 lbs
Height: 5'4"
Magic User: Yes
Preferred Weapon(s): Meg prefers to wield a long hand and a half sword forged by the elves. Its hilt is wrapped in leather, and set in its pommel is a beautiful purple sapphire. Her second weapon is a dagger that she keeps in her boot in case she is caught without a sword.
Personality:
Megara is quiet, and keeps to herself most of the time. When she was a child, she was more sociable, but now no one knows exactly why she doesn't talk much.
Meg purposely distances herself from other people, except when she needs to be sociable to accomplish a mission.
In reality, she's lonely. She has lost important people in her life, but she hasn't spoken to anyone about it. She hasn't been close to anyone save for her mother. The reason she doesn't attempt to start relationships is that she thinks she'll lose the person she cares about.
Appearance: Meg is relatively tall, and is considered to be very beautiful, even among the elves. She has thigh-length auburn hair, which she rarely lets down. She also has very prominent curves. Megara dresses as a man most of the time--choosing tunics and leggings over dresses. Usually she wears a forest green tunic with a brown hooded cloak, and a purple belt.
Likes/Dislikes: Meg hates it when people don't leave her alone. She especially dislikes tenacious human suitors. She loves long walks in the forest, which she finds calming. She enjoys listening to the songs of the birds each morning.
Strengths: Meg is quick-witted, and acts on the spur of the moment if she needs to. She is rarely indecisive. She is also physically fit, and is a decent fighter. Meg is also an excellent spellcaster, though she likes to avoid using magic, since it takes up much energy.
Weakness: Meg would do anything for her few friends, and the quickest way to get to her is through those closest to her.
Family:
Agatha--Meg's mother
Laertes--Meg's father
Not-So-Brief History:
Meg was born in Du Weldenvarden, like many of the elves. She was taught to use magic at an early age, but she uses it in moderation. It was a custom for women to be taught how to fight as well as men, so Meg was also taught how to use a sword by her father, Laertes. She proved to be proficient with the blade.
Laertes was a sailor, and when Galbatorix became king, he went of on a sailing expedition to find a new land where the elves may live in peace. Laertes never returned. Meg was very young at the time, but even so, she was heartbroken. Ever since then, she had a hard life. She met a
handsome elf named Phillip, who was a member of the Varden. They became friends, and he asked her to join their cause. Meg agreed, and the two of them went out on many dangerous missions together. They spent 20 years together, and their companionship blossomed into love. However, on one of those missions, the couple was ambushed by an army of the king's soldiers, as well as the Ra'zac. Phillip was maimed by one of the Ra'zac's mounts, the Lethrblaka. Before Meg could be harmed, the Varden arrived with reinforcements, but unfortunately it was too late for Phillip. The elf died in Meg's arms. She has never given her heart to any man--elf or human--since.
Meg continued to do missions for the Varden after her lover's death in order to avenge him. She's killed countless Imperial soldiers. On one mission, Meg was to intercept a supply caravan headed to Urû'baen. She succeeded in her mission, only to find that this was no supply caravan--it was a group of the Empire's fiercest warriors and most powerful spellcasters who were guarding a purple dragon egg. Meg stole the egg and returned to the Varden. The egg immediately hatched for her. She named the dragon Jasper.
Anything extra:
Name: Jasper
Color: Purple
Age: 80 years
Jasper is a purple dragon with gleaming amethyst eyes. He hatched in Megara's 55th year. The two have grown stronger together, and Jasper is as reserved as his Rider. However, he is also very careful in making his decisions, and can sometimes be indecisive. He is very intelligent, and possesses the much of knowledge of his ancestors. He has a noble appearance, and wisdom seems to emanate from him.
Jasper was found by a group of Imperial scouts on a recon mission in the Beor Mountains. The scouts realized that they had found a dragon's egg, and hurried to Urû'baen immediately. Meg had been told that a supply caravan was also headed that way. She found the scouts and thinking they were the supply caravan, killed them instead. Meg found the dragon egg in their possession and journeyed to the Varden. The egg hatched before she arrived, and her hand shimmered with the gedwëy ignasia set firmly upon it. She was a Dragon Rider. Jasper and Meg finally made it to the Varden, who were more than surprised that there was a new Rider. They were overjoyed, and just the sight of Jasper gave them hope, and raised their morale.
The pair are both very powerful, but when they stand together, they're much stronger.
