Full Name: Senerio Ereshkigal
Other name: Solen
Race: Part elf, anywhere from an eight to a small fraction with a denominator smaller than 200, and it shows itself as slower ageing only.
Side: Empire
Birthplace: Marna
Age: 29, looks about fifteen-ish
Gender: Male
Birthday: 8th July
Eyes: Dark red
Hair: Black and almost reaching down to his waist, tied back at around his neck area.
Weight: 125 pounds
Height: 5.2 feet
Magic User: Yes, specializing in wind magic; also uses spirits
Clothing: Black robes and sandals, sometimes he wears purple. His clothing always covers his whole body except his face, and occasionally he wears a hood.
Preferred Weapon(s): A book, the bigger the better. He usually has a large spellbook to help him with the more complex spells. He also carries around several knives, just in case.
Personality: Cold, logical, extremely bright and easily irritable, but after having to train Rory he is resigned and will accept whatever fate has to throw at him. Whether or not he will accept it quietly or with a lot of fuming and complaining is another matter altogether. He has an insecurity complex he refuses to show and very little social skills due to his upbringing.
Solen is not idealistic by any definition of the word, and he prefers the fastest, most straightforward path. He is not against using unconventional means, but only if it could get the job done quicker. He is blunt and to the point, rarely sarcastic and, when asked, voices his honest opinions. Such opinions are almost always negative, and he cares next to nothing for the lives of individuals. Solen can be quite obsessive; if he finds something that is important to him he can be a bit overprotective. Distrustful by nature, he has learned to not only block his mind but also modify and focus his thoughts, giving false or pointless information to mind-readers.
Likes: He likes quiet, darkness, big heavy books and the library, his not-so-secret comfort drink is coffee, as he cannot hold his liquor. He can barely go through a day without at least three cups of coffee (black), preferably seven. Tea will do, but double the amount. Despite his dislike for sugar, he is not adverse to chocolate, especially dark.
Dislikes: He hates noise, bright lights and noontime, when the sun makes spots appear in your eyes. Do not comment on his age, as he does not like being reminded that he looks a lot younger than he really is. He is against fighting, since he tends to be quite bad at it. Some people believe that he hates everything. He is also lactose-intolerant and sugar sickens him. He has a severe dislike of elves, and wishes that he does not have elven blood.
Family: Father deceased (Kota), mother unknown (Sophia).
Brief History: He does not remember much about his parents as his part-elf mother left just after was born, and his father died when he was only two. What he does remember about him was that he was not a nice person. He was trained by an extremely skilled but cruel sorcerer, who Solen died of old age when Solen was thirteen. At fifteen he joined the Empire seeking a better life, and lived in relative comfort for ten years until Rory happened to catch the king’s attention. Ever since then he has been miserable and desperately drowning his sorrows with an unhealthy amount of caffeine.
Despite his magical skills, Solen has never seen the battlefield. He teaches Rory whenever the boy can get a hold of him, and when wars are being fought he calculates the expenses, sets the rations and notes down whatever details for history books. He is, in effect, an accountant. Galbatorix once casually suggested that he become a shade, and Rory commented that Solen might be easier to live with. Maru stated that he would lose his resident Mathematics expert, so unless someone else could do the accounting Solen would stay human.
Anything Extra: Beware of the spellbook, as he can and will whack you with it. He does not fight well and is pretty weak physically, so he depends mostly on his quick wit and magic. He is quite fast, however. He gets very irritated when people comment on his androgynous features, his age or his lack of height.
Solen is part of the Mage Corps and does research on shades, spirits, elves and other non-human entities.
