Hair: He has messy, dark brown hair that reaches down to the top of his nose.

Clothing: Varius wears a black shirt, his breaches overlap the top of his dark red leather boots and are also black. He has an ornate belt of the same color as his boots, both of which are family heirlooms of his great, great grandfather on his mothers side. He obtained them when the Empire ordered him to pillage a town that was known to have supported the Varden. He also has a pack that he keeps slung over his shoulder and tied onto the strap that reaches around to his back and holds his handmade short bow. He has two sheathes on either side of his belt that hold his swords. A money pouch hangs around his neck.
Preferred Weapons: Twin swords a little longer than daggers, that have golden hilts. One sword has a black line on the blade while the other has a dark red one. The sheathes are black and dark red, with a golden elvish runes etched into them.
Personality: Varius has a bad temper, but it takes a lot to make him mad. When he's in a good mood he is friendly and slightly obnoxious. He's extremely touchy about his height because the people in the empire always used to tease him when he was young.
Likes: The two things he likes the most are one; feeling the rush of being underwater where the world is completely unknown and two; losing himself in the past and fantasy worlds by reading books.
Dislikes: Varius hates Galbatorix for all the pain and suffering he has caused to all of Alagasia. He hates bullies with a passion, and also hates anybody who harms any animals for any reason other than for food.
Family: Varius was born to a pair of close agents to Galbatorix named Sashira and Troy Trevorn. Sashira is a slave and Troy died while on a mission for Galbatorix
Brief History: Varius was born to Sashira and Troy Trevorn whilst they were exploring the Hadarac Desert for Galbatorix, after wandering and mapping for years his father developed a drinking habit. By the time he was nine years old they were back in Uru Baen. Varius's life was about to be shattered into pieces. On a visit to a local tavern, Troy got into a betting game with a slaver, and somehow the slaver got him drunk enough to bet his wife, and so the slaver, probably by cheating won the game and gained possession of Varius's mother Sashira.
The morning after, the slaver along with several men, burst into the house of Varius and his family,and in less than two minutes they had seized Sashira and made off into the distance.
In the years following that event Troy drowned his sorrow of his lost wife in the tankards of beer and whiskey he drank copiously every day. He began to blame the loss of Sashira on Varius, and began to beat him cruelly. At the age of 13, Varius learned that his father had died while on a mission for Galbatorix. He rejoiced and thought that he would finally be free from the cursed city of Uru Baen, But people had other plans for him, he was sent to be a servant for a rich lord on the outskirts of Uru Baen. As soon as he heard of this, Varius began planning his escape, he took all of the possessions most dearest to him, and when the lord named Azi Rahgn came to take him to his estate, he... peacefully went with Azi.
While they were riding to his estate Azi treated the servants driving his carriage horribly, when they stopped for the night Varius seized his chance to untie the horse of Rahgn and thundered out of the camp they had made and out of the cursed city of Uru Baen.
Varius is currently on his way to Surda, where he will swear fealty to the Varden.
Extra: Varius is a healer he was taught by a forune teller who foretold he was to be a healer.
