Silis Korro
Silis glanced around the street as she stalked down the road. Then she saw something that made her freeze in her tracks. She saw Caspian and Nandon. She wasn't too surprised to see Nandon, for he was a spy and he was anywhere the Empire was, but she had not expected to see Caspian. As he looked over at her for a moment she meowed, but he just looked away. He was the only human, besides Cicymyst and Adriac, that she didn't loathe.
The werecat flicked her tail in annoyance at being ignored, but that didn't shock her either. Not many people recognized her in her cat form. She blinked lime green eyes as her mind lay deep in thoughts. Should she go after them? Nandon would probably recognize her, but she didn't care either way. If they didn't realize it was her then she would just spy on them. There was always more to know, and she enjoyed finding it out.
Since she had made up her mind, the black werecat trotted after the two humans. She followed them slowly, waiting to see if she was left alone or spotted.

Nandon barely noticed silis... but he noted as he heard her meow and he noted her presence knowing she would be curious as to why two riders where following him threw the streets. As nandon sat behind the desk he began to answer Caspain's question "Technically right now... you are a rider... You do have to train to become a full fledged rider in the order... But yes... The dragon chose you from within its egg to become its rider..." Nandon answered and he smiled remembering himself being much the same when he was younger and being taught his subjects... always Why why why what who as his mentor had put it to him one day "And around 3 months of age you can fly on your dragon...at 6 months they can breath fire.. and that's usually when they can mate." Nandon said going on as he explained the various things of dragon ages and such "Also within the enxt few weeks your dragon will go through a series of extreme growth spurts..." Nandon said as he eyes the dragon which sat in Caspians lap and he smiled... Oh how he wished he could be a rider....

Nepherion walked across from Caspain and only a few feet behind Nandon. Keeping his mind connected with the translucent dragon below him. The white haired male tucked his hands into his beige pockets, keeping quite as he followed silently behind them. Keeping the tone of voice to a minimal, he spoke only loud enough for the inner circle to hear. " How about Alabaster ? " He said directing it towards the invisible cream dragon. He quickly denied him with an annoyed thought that gently patted his consciousness. Nepherion shrugged his shoulders, not noticing he had spoken out of their bond. The boy felt the dragon's disapproval for the name.
Nepherion and the dragon stayed connected by a mental chain made of steel links, links that were unbreakable and forged through divine forces. Nothing could break this link and Nepherion had a feeling it would last through his lifetime. As they looked upon the sign that read, " Angela's Herbs " A dark brow raised while he released a hand from his pocket and turned towards Nandon. " Why are we here ? This place is run down. " A question that went unanswered as the two walked inside. Hearing the sound of an eerie meow , Nepherion quickly looked towards a black cat, gazing at it with curiosity before following the two in.
The five of them reached the office, Nepherion stopped short of where Caspain sat, preferring to remain standing. The white dragon became visible, he was in mid stretch when Nepherion looked down on him. Just as he had thought, the dragon had stayed by his side the whole time as instructed. A warm smile appeared on his face, seeing the white dragon let out in inaudible yawn, his right hind leg extended, like a cat undecided of what leg to flex out first. Than with a couple of shuddering stumbles, he brought himself back to his four paws and looked up towards Nepherion. " I'm happy I can see you again buddy. I missed your appearance and I've only known you for a hour or two. " The dragon returned the feeling with accepting emotions and bliss at his longing to see him.
Nepherion looked up at the torrent of questions that Caspain spoke, it was the same way he released his first set of questions towards rider on the beach. He remained quite for he also wanted to know the answers to those questions. Nandon quickly responded and with a nod on his part, Nepherion rolled his arm and spoke. " So in about three months we'll be flying eh ? That's going to be an awesome experience. " The white dragon turned his head towards the silent paws of the cat that had entered the room. His first thought was too investigate. Nepherion quickly felt the curiosity rise in his dragon, causing him to turn his head towards him. " What's the matter white one ?" The dragon opened it's wings towards the cat as if to begin it's launch off.

Silis
Silis knew Nandon had saw her, which made her annoyed. He hadn't said a word, but she knew he was smart enough to recognize her by her fur and eye color. The black cat flicked her long tail, but stayed in the safety of the shadows. She hated watching other Varden members and not being recognized.
Silis watched the three of them and listened to Nandon answer their questions. Then she noticed the white dragon looking like it was going to try and attack her. It was foolish if it thought it would win. It was mere hatchling, as small as can be, and she was only a little by smaller then a panther. She would crush it easily.
The black werecat stood up and stared at the white dragon before glancing at Nepherion. Then she looked at Caspian and his golden dragon before turning to Nandon. She stared at the Varden spy and let out an annoyed meow. If any of them knew the mind reading spell, they could easily bring her into the conversation without her having to change back into a humanoid. Then she would have to go all the way back to where she had hid her clothes and changed. That was too much work at the moment.
Silis unsheathed her unusually long claws and glared at the white dragon before letting out a threatening hiss if it wanted a fight, she would gladly give it one. The only dragon she liked was her adopted sister's dragon, Nystia, a purple scaled dragon that hatched around Belatona.

Nepherion looked over his shoulder before noticing the dark feline figure towards the entrance of the door. The cat was large, larger than any normal house cat, but no bigger than a lynx or jaguar. A torrent of confused and frightened emotions grazed against his own confronting and sentinel feelings. He leaped out the chair, standing beside the white dragon. Looking around, he placed his hand around a light, thin, stick that was no more than four inches thick and three feet long. The thought of why a stick like that would be laying around crossed his mind for a moment before he shrugged his shoulders in acceptance of his good luck. Stand strong white one. I won't let this beast have you as it's snack. His palms gripped the slander end of the stick as it thickened out towards the end of its three foot length. His cerulean eyes showed a deep seeded need to protect the very beast that scarred his left palm.
As he stood to face the beast, he looked back towards Nandon, to see if he would back him up. Obviously Caspian was trapped in a daze, either that or he hadn't wanted to acknowledge the presence of the big cat. Either way, he eyed down the beast without any real fear in his heart, only a slight tremble in his arms from how tight he was gripping the stick. The white dragon's neck curled over to Nepherion's strong jaw, gazing at the knots in it from his adrenaline. The link between the two strengthen as Nepherion's courage sunk into the Dragon's disturbed heart. The dragon crouched it's head low while raising it shoulders and hind legs. His tail stuck curved slightly in the air, revealing the dimmed gray furred over it. The bony knots over his lid farrowed low as a slightly high toned growl release from the bowels of it's lungs.
With a smile Nepherion determination raised even more and he was resolved to see this through if the cat hadn't backed down. Keeping his eyes on the cat, he spoke out to Nandon. " Nandon. Make us invisible like you did the dragons. Y'know encase things get ugly and we need the advantage. " He said this with a bold, dauntless voice. Nepherion seemed completely calm in this time of chaotic misunderstandings.

Nandon heard the hiss and frowned to himself... this was a very bad situation... silis could easily kill both of them if she wanted but nandon couldnt allow that... so trying to defuse the situation and answer the request... "No... i wont do that since silis is a good friend of mine.... and id prefer you to calm down and not beat my friends with a stick.... " nandon said at the end smiling slightly "Just calm down.... do you have any other questiosn regarding the riders before we go... i must meet a old friend and i would prefer to do it before my hair turns to silver and we turn to dust... "Nandon said smiling

Silis
Silis lifted her head high into the air. She was too proud for her own good sometimes, but she could easily beat a new rider. He didn't know much about magic and his dragon couldn't fight enough to save him. All he had was his human fighting skills, and that was just the kind of thing she had been training againest for all the years she lived in Ellsmera.
Silis lashed her tail and listened to Nepherion before turning her lime green gaze to Nandon. When he was done speaking, she let out a meow that sounded like laughter. That weak rider, killing her? Maybe he was just trying to spare his feelings or something, but she refused to believe a stupid young rider could beat her. She then looked eight into Nepherion's eyes as if taunting him to try and hurt her before tearing her gaze away from him.
"Mweeor." Silis meowed. It wasn't a threatening noise or anything like that. It sounded kind in a way, but she had no idea why. It was one of the most frustrating things in the world to not be able to talk. The large black cat sheathed her long claws and sat down. She wrapped her tail around her paws.

Hearing Nandon call the giant cat a friend, formed a bewildered expression on his face. A glance from his baffled eye would stab Nandon as he continued with the previous subject. Turning his head back towards the black feline, he brought the stick to his side and had his side facing the cat. He let out an agitated sigh from his nostrils, his hand loosely wrapped around the stick. " I guess if the..Cat.. Is your friend. Than their's no reason to kill it. " The released tension from the situation had dulled his desire to fight and easily quelled his anger. Just as quickly as he had entered the fray, he had exited it. Than his eyes slightly hinted towards a mental connection that had been established between him and his dragon. The smooth scaled beast fluttered him with the image of the feline sitting down, with a barrage of curious and resenting emotions. Yea, I feel the same way white one... O how about Vanile ! Do you like that name ? The dragon looked up at him before releasing an annoyed sigh. He laughed at the dragon before feeling it's denying of the name but it's acceptance of his rider.
Nepherion turned back towards Nandon with his arms crossed firmly. " I do have a few more questions. But I'll take them one at a time.. " He said. " Was it that makes the Riders so formidable. I mean everyone knows of them and fears them. I don't want to have anyone fearing me. I want respect. " Bringing his arms from under each other he looked towards the ground with a hesitant glare. Unsure of the role that this new path would take him down.

a sad look comes onto nandons face as the question is asked..."It was not always so.... back when the land flurished under the riders peacefull eye... The where respected as scholars.... as warriors...and as defenders of the peace..... Only in the most recent years with glabatorix in power has the riders been feared..." Nandon said looking over them a sad look still on his face as he answered the next question... "The riders power comes from there ability to use magic.. and from there dragons... I mean who would get into a fight at a bar if they knew a huge dragon would seen be there to break it up?" nandon smiled at the end and he looked at silis wondering when he was assigned to teirm.

Nepherion brought his head up and chuckled lightly at Nandon's joke towards the end. " Well i guess my next question will be about the magic. That's what you used to make them invisible right ? When will we be able to use it and what is it ? " Speaking of the dragons earlier when they were traveling to the small building. Just than as he finished the sentence a sound of metal hitting the wooden floor and a small yet hectic struggle could be heard by the bookcases. When he turned, he saw the white dragon chomping up a small rodent that had probably been living there since before the owner had left. The beast ate it whole and without reservation. His head tilted curiously at everyone that stared at him, the sound of the rodent's spine snapping between his fangs rung out. His dull red eyes glimmered from the golden sun light passing through the creaks of the building. He had to admit the dragon was a little frighting.
Nepherion smiled a little than turned back towards Nandon. " I can't believe it. I'm a dragon rider. " Nepherion's chuckled echoed through room for a second. " Wait so does that mean, me and Caspian are brothers in arms now ? " His smile quickly turned sour sigh as he thought about the upcoming problems that could arise from this situation. He was sure his family was worried about him. He hadn't come home last night and was still missing most of the afternoon. He would have to hear his mother and father's mouth for this one. Hopefully, Nix wasn't crying her eyes out about him either. Nepherion scratched his temple with his index finger as his brow farrowed up into a worried scowl. " One more question Nandon, what about my family ? What will happen to them ? "

Silis
Silis let out another meow of laughter. His family? It was not about his family anymore. This was beyond any of them now. This was between the Varden and the Empire, and Silis thought it seemed unfair to stand by and watch. She had no real family. Her only living family member was her adopted sister, but she had her own life to lead. The black werecat had learned only a few days after she was born that her life didn't matter in such a big world, that she was born to serve. Or at least that's what it seemed like.
Silis shook her head. Why was she thinking such depressing thoughts? Probably because it was true to her. Her short life had been nothing but miserable. The werecat sighed deeply and looked around. Listening to Nandon and the two riders talk was entertaining, but she would rather get back to work. The Varden would wish to hear her report when she got back to camp.
Being a spy is so simple when you are a werecat. Silis thought with a small smile. Yet, she didn't want to leave. For the moment she wanted to stay and listen to the three men talk about dragons. It wouldn't hurt to listen. With all the new dragon rider about it would be good to review what she knew about dragons.

nandon looked at the dragon with a slight smile on his face then turned back to nepherion "I dont know... elves are born able to use it naturally..." Nandon smiled sadly as he once again felt a great longing to be a dragon rider. "And Not really.... you are riders... nothing more..." Looks once again a frown on his face at the mention of a family.. "That i do not know... as far as i know your family would have two choices... Join king galbatorix and his black dragon of death and be feared through out the land... Or join the varden and aid in ushering in a new age of peace where the riders will be seen as peace keepers not killers." Nandon looks out over the after noon sun and frowns he would have to go soon and make a report... but what would he say to nusada? That he had just learned about two new riders? or nothing at all and make the varden come and maybe slaughter this young mans family...

Silis
Silis meowed pleadingly when Nandon mentioned the Varden. The Varden could use more riders, and Silis would be forced to tell them about Caspian and Nepherion. She knew that Caspian was already apart of the Varden, but what about Nepherion? As much as she disliked him so far, if the Varden learned that he wished to join the Empire, they would have to slaughter him before he could become too useful to the Empire.
Silis didn't want the Empire to get anymore powerful. All their dragons were much more powerful then the Varden's, so they could use another trainee rider. If Nepherion chose the Empire, who knows what the Varden would do to his family. Plus the small white dragon in his arms would be grown before it turned 3 months old because of the King's meddling with magic.
Silis shuddered. As much as she hated them, she couldn't tand to see another helpless human get their life destroyed by the Empire. He would have to join the rebels in order to live his life safetly for now on. The black werecat turned her gaze to Nepherion and the white dragon. Then she let out another pleading meow, as if asking him to make a choice. And she hoped it would be the right one.

looked at the pleading silis and nodded reaching his mind out to her so they could talk "I know... the varden needs another rider... i'm worried though if he chosoes the empire the varden will slaughter his family... and if he chooses the empire they will be feared forever more..." nandon said with his mind to silis this was not a easy decision to make but it was the way things where now... "Ill help you get out of here if you do choose the varden... as well as your family if you like..." Nandon did not know how he would transport a entire family to the varden... it would cost alot of energy and maybe even kill him... but he would die helping the free rider....

Nepherion's eyes lowered and his voice became somber. " Oh. So my family is going to have to choose as well.? " The thought of putting his family in harms way was difficult to deal with. To think, just telling them that he had become a dragon ride could potentially risk all of their lives. Two minutes went by and Nepherion stood there in silence. Than suddenly he snapped his head up with a smile and widen eyes. " What if I don't tell them ! They can get off without the knowledge right ? If they don't know, they can't be of any help or falter. " He shouted in jubilee. " Yes. That's what I'll do. " With that he watched the white dragon make it's way over to him and sit beside him. His belly pretty full from the fish and mouse it had ate. Nepherion wished that he wouldn't of been pushed into the situation to soon. It was as if a race was being bet on to see which side he would choose.
With a pause and than a large thumbs up towards Nandon, Nepherion smiled. " Of course I'll choose the Varden. Those scum of a solider. I hate them. If I can, I'll take them out as quickly as possible.. As a rider of the Varden !. " He said lowering his hand.
He touched the mind of his dragon without changing his glance. Though his expression soften out too a more stoic look. I'm not sure if I made the right choice here. But I don't think they'd make us promise anything. If I can, I'll take the training they can give me and go my own way... Are you with me ? The small hatchling responded with feelings of devotion without hesitation. It occurred to Nepherion than, that no matter what the dragon would be there for him. Returning from the mental talk, Nepherion looked back towards the cat, who had once again gave a inconceivable meow at the right time. It was starting to freak him out. As if the beast had a mind of it's own. Nepherion turned towards it, crouching down to look it in the eyes. " Your not a dumb beast... Are ya ? " He said poking it in the forehead with a vague expression. As his finger pressed against the forehead the cat, he shouted out towards Nandon. " This cat is your friend right. Is it a magical cat ? "

Silis
Silis was relieved when Nandon reached his mind out to her. Finally, a way to talk! The werecat nodded at the spy and then replied, Yes, we do need more riders. And if he doesn't chose the Varden then we'll have to tell our leaders about him anyway... But it's his choise, and even though the Empire would be cruel to him, we can't force him to change his mind. The werecat said to Nandon in her mind.
Silis then turned her head over to Nepherion as he began to speak. She was surprised that he had chosen not telling his parents. Most riders chose to keep it a secret, but not for the reasons Nepherion did. Usually because they were embarssed or something along those lines. Nepherion had made that choice to protect him and his family. Great, another human that I will probably end up friends with. She thought to herself grimly. She didn't really have much of a problem with having new friends, but she still held a grudge againest humans.
When Silis heard Nepherion say that he would join the Varden she let out a gleeful meow. The Varden had gained another rider! Surely that was good news to be given to the Varden whn they asked her what she had learned on her mission. At least it hadn't been a complete fail.
As Nepherion touched her forehead with his finger, she pressed her black ears againest her head as if it was a warning, but she didn't hiss. Sure he might be a friend, but no one touches her in cat form. The black cat still managed to behave herself as she turned her sharp green gaze to Nandon.
Can you please tell him that I am a werecat? And if he has no idea what that is, I am a human who can turn into a cat. And, yes, of course I'm magical. Silis said to Nandon, hoping that he would pass on the message to Nepherion.

Caspian soaked in everything that was said. It was so much to take in and understand, and yet there was a part of him that feared being a Rider. He didn't say or do anything when the black cat came near. He knew her but not in this form, otherwise he would not have ignored her like this.
His golden dragon was curled up by his feet taking a nap. She seemed blissfully unaware of any concerns. "Nandon?" he asked. "I don't want to be part of the Varden, nor the Empire." Those were hard words to speak but they came from his heart and his fear.
His family had already suffered from the Empire, and while he wanted to find them and perhaps seek revenge he did not want to do so at the Varden's side.

Silis looked up at Caspian, curiosity and sorrow showing in her lime green eyes. What could make the rider not wish to choice either side? He was already apart of the Varden, she had talked to him at the feast, but what could have happened to him that made him not wish to fight? The werecat watched him for a few moments and then looked at his golden dragon. She felt sad for him. She understood that the Empire ha probably gotten on his wrong side for they do that with alot of people, but why not the Varden? Maybe he just wanted to be free. Silis knew the feeling, and that was what she wished for more then anything. When the war was over she would say good bye to Amanes, possibly forever, and go join a werecat clan. That had been her wish her whole life. She wanted to be a normal werecat. She grew up with elves, but she wanted more then anything to be a normal werecat. And the dangerous part was, she would do anything at all to get that normal life she wanted so desparitly.
Nandon can you tell Caspian something for me? Please? Tell him that I understand that he feels bad, that he never wanted this, but this is beyond us now. If Caspian doesn't chose, Galbatorix will make him choice. Dragon riders can no longer be free until this war ends. And no matter how bad our lives are, this has nothing to do with us. This is for all the creatures of Alagaesia that are alive now and that will be born in the future. Can you please tell him that? Silis told Nandon through her mind as she watched Caspian.

Looked over at caspian with a frown then he relayed what silis had told him "We understand that you feels bad, that you never wanted this, but this is beyond us now. If you dont chose, Galbatorix will make the choice for you . Dragon riders can no longer be free until this war ends. And no matter how bad our lives are, this has nothing to do with us. This is for all the creatures of Alagaesia that are alive now and that will be born in the future." He looked concerned then he gave his own advice "Caspian.. I know this war stinks.. for everyone.. we have all lost someone close and its not great but sacrifices are part of life... When this war is over you will be free as a bird like riders were intended."

Caspian glanced at Sills quickly when Nandon relayed the message. So she wasn't a cat like he'd thought? He thought she was only a cat but.....oh werecat. How could he have missed it. That could be the only explanation.
Sills message hit Caspian hard. The weight of reality hadn't really hit him until now. And it hit him hard. He had no choice in this, not really it was Galbatorix or the Varden. And as Sills had said. He had to stop being so selfish and think about others. The burden was indeed heavy and one he would not have willingly choose. To be responsible for all the creatures of Alagaesia now and future and to see to it that the mad king was stopped.
"I can't do it," he cried, tears rolling down his face as the tension and fear he had held back was unleashed. "How can I? I'm a farm boy. I know nothing of war and nothing about being a rider. How can I do that? I've tried but I'm no good with a sword, I can't use magic, I don't know what to do."
"And the Empire has my family, I don't know if they are even still alive. If I join the Varden openly what will become of them?" The last thing he wanted was for the Empire to use his family against him, that was if they still lived.
He sobbed openly. Why must fate have pushed this onto him. He felt helpless and all alone in the world. He wiped his teas with the edge of his sleeve but the flow of tears continued.
The golden dragon looked shocked and completely distressed. Caspian's emotions flowed into her through their bond. She wasn't sure what to make of it or why he was so upset. Concerned she looked at the elf and the werecat for help, before climbing into Caspian's lap.
