As Vedrit wanders aimlessly around Aberon, the hot sun baking him, he reminisces about his friends who are some where in town, enjoying them selves. He met up with them shortly after he came into town several weeks before, but they had gone thier own way, on thier own quests. "Its a beutiful day, if a bit warm." He said to Sonya, his dragon, who was out hunting. She sent him her agreement. He came to Aberon for a reason: He was in search of the Varden, if only to talk, but his hope was to join them and take down the Empire. "Maybe I should make myself a neusance for the Empire, since no one is pointing me in the direction of the Varden." He said to him self. He had been searching for the Varden for months, his travelling ranging from the great forests up north, to Aberon, though he had never been east of the Harradric.

Cirtolthiel was slumped against a building, enjoying the cover of the shade. She was fond of sunny days, but when it was this blazing hot, she preferred the cold. Naturally. She took a long drink from her waterskin. After being in a Varden Council for about three hours, it was nice to just sit here, relax in the shade, and watch the bustling people of Abernon. She brought no attention to herself, but simply hid behind her silver-white bangs.
She set her water skin beside her and stretched, for what seemed like the fourth time in the past ten minutes. Cirtolthiel thought a bit, finally deciding it was time to get up and move around a bit. See what was going on. Find the action. Straightening up, she slung her pack over her shoulder and set off down the narrow streets. Maybe she'd return back to the Varden. What are you thinking? You've had enough of that place for one day, she reminded herself. Bored, she paused by some shop-stands, examining various handiwork by residents.

Vedrit wandered about, viewing the varous wares available, but decided against purchasing. Taking a deep breath, he thought he saw elf-like ears at one of the stands 'It has been a while since I talked with an elf.' He thought to him self. He walks to the stand as though he were another shopper, but made sure his pointed ears were visable. " What are you doing? Who knows who she supports." Sonya scolded him. She had not forgotten thier encounter with some Empire spies. Vedrit nearly lost his life, or control of it.

Farid had been sitting in the tavern for quiet some time now. He sat in the corner watching drunken soldiers trying to woo the the tavern wenches. He hoped to pick up some news of where the Varden was located. All his leads pointed to Aberon. He sighed and ran his hand through his hair. For a moment his ears where exposed then quickly covered by his short brown locks. He drank the last of his wine. It tasted as if it had been mulled over by water. He glared at the tavern owner and walked out, displeased that he had spent so much time in there all for nothing.
He stopped along the shops listening to the gossip that passed from one mouth to another. He ran his hands over some of the jewels laid out before him, trying not to look suspicious. He walked a bit further still looking at the jewels. He turned collided into the girl, sending him falling back wards. His hair left his ears, exposing them for everyone to see. He realized as soon as his bright green eyes met her face that she was one of the Fair Folk as well. He turned bright red and extended his hand to her in order to help her to her feet.
"Forgive me" He said still in awe of her beauty. It had been weeks since he had come face to face with another elf. " I should naught have been so clumsy." He pressed his fingers to his lips. Leaning in close to her ear, he murmured."Atra esterni ono thelduin." He leaned back and looked around looking to see if someone was watching them. Everyone else was walking by leisurely.

Cirtolthiel suddenly stumbled forward, having been bumped by someone behind her. She found herself sitting on the floor of the streets. Again. Interesting how that worked out, eh? she chucked to herself. She looked up, and blinked when she realized that this man was an elf. He had his arm extended to her to help her up. Cirtolthiel took it and thanked him.
"Forgive me. I should naught have been so clumsy."
Cirtolthiel smiled. "Oh, don't worry about it. I'm quite the klutz myself," she said cheerfully. Ah, yes, the Fair Folk indeed! It made her grin all the more. She missed Du Weldenvarden terribly, and now to see a face of her own people!
The male elf leaned in and muttered into her ear, "Atra esterni ono thelduin."
Cirtolthiel gave a nod. She looked straight into his eyes and touched her lips as well. She replied with the traditional greeting, "Mor'ranr lìfa unin hjarta onr." She too, glanced around for passerbys, but quickly averted her gaze back to the elf. Absentmindedly, she tucked a strand of hair behind her ears. I wonder if there are any other elves wandering around..

Vedrit was amazed that some one would be so clumsy. He shook his head. "Why must people be clumsy?" He mumbled to him self, "Are you alright?" He asked the elf, even though it was obvious she was. When he looked to see who it was that knocked her over, he was suprised to see another elf "Sheesh!" He said out loud, "How many elves are there here?" He was becoming suprised at how many elves there were in Aberon

He smirked and nodded to her. " My name is Faird." He said with a slight smirk. "It's odd meeting another elf here. Not to mention one so open about their heritage." He said motioning to her ear. He dusted himself off and smoothed down his tunic. He looked her up and down then let his green eye peirce hers. His looked down and let his hand roam to his sword. He examined them for a few moments then looked back up at her.
"Are you alright?"
"Obviously..." He murmured looking at the other male with disdain for inturupting his conversation. He sighed and noticed that he was another elf. Suprised that the elf had not greeted them traditionally. He turned back to the girl and grinned shyly, hoping he had not noticed his anger twards the other male elf.

"My name is Farid. It's odd meeting another elf here. Not to mention one so open about their heritage." Cirtolthiel saw him gesture to her ear. She shrugged in response.
"Well, I consider this a pretty safe place, so I'm not too worried about anything," she explained. She threw back her hair and let her bangs fall over one eye. "No one has really made any comment to me either; I've been keeping a low profile... Oh, and by the way, I'm Cirtolthiel. Ambassador of the Queen, at your service."
Cirtolthiel jumped when she heard a voice behind her. She spun around. It was...another elf? Pahah! The irony of it all actually made her let out a small burst of laughter. Very quietly, of course. Who knew elves were so attracted to human cities? But she brushed off that thought when she realized that the Varden might have lured them here.
She heard the elf mumble, "Are you alright?"
"Oh, yes, I'm quite fine." Cirtolthiel was also finding it humorous that people were so interested her fall. She bit her lip, trying to keep herself from falling to the floor laughing hysterically. Well, maybe not that hard, but still. This was becoming quite the day.
"Sheesh! How many elves are there here?"
"I count three," she said, winking. "But I agree, this is ridiculous." Cirtolthiel glanced back at Farid.

Since Vedrits presance was obviously insignificant, he decided he would go else where. "Well, while they are no harm, I certainly hope that they pay more attention. I could have killed them, if I were Empire." He said to Sonya, who was coming back from her hunt. Sighing, he wondered where he should go to eat, since it had been a while since he last ate. Several booths smelt appatizing, but he decided he would continue walking.

Farid looked away as she glanced his way. He found it hard not to watch her. Perhaps it was his human blood put him in awe of her. Whatever the cause he tried to clear his sences. He sighed and turned back to her, the little lightbulb in his head going off. "So you are with the Vard-?"He stopped mid-sentence and watched the other elf exit. He reached out and grabbed at his shoulder. He quickly pulled his hand away and placed it on his sword. "After you M'Lady. He said motioning after Verdit.

Cirtolthiel sensed Vedrit starting to leave. Her lighthearted mood instantly disappeared.
Did I say something wrong? Cirtolthiel had a weird feeling that Vedrit was someone of honorable importance. And this, Cirtolthiel guiltily remembered, would not be the first time she accidentally offended someone of a high position. Even worse, this elf was probably a Rider. Cirtolthiel hated how often she disregarded such people, even if it was an accident. Then again, it was always an accident.
She began to turn the way he left to stop him and apologize. But before she could even open her mouth to call for him, Farid had already reached for Vedrit's shoulder and grabbed it.
"After you M'Lady."
Cirtolthiel brushed past Farid and walked in front of Vedrit, attempting to block his path. She touched her lips and began to speak quickly in the ancient language.
"Master Rider, I apologize for my ignorance of your position. I am a member of the Varden, and I would be happy to assist you." Cirtolthiel bowed her head and inhaled. "My name is Cirtolthiel, of Ellesméra. I am an Ambassador of Queen Islanzadì." Cirtolthiel's voice was filled with repentance of her mistake.

Farid looked from Cirtholthriel to the Rider. He looked down not knowing what to say. He reluctantly pressed his figures to his lip and mummbled the greeting. He stood there examining the Rider. "What's your name?" He asked looking around for a sign of a dragon.

Vedrit know nearly nothing of the Ancient language, considering his upbringing, so he gave both the elves odd and confused looks. The wind began to blow as Sonya returned from her hunt. She gave each of the elves thorough inspection, even Vedrit. "Sonya, I dont know what they are saying." He told her as she landed in the once crowded street (All the people made room for the landing dragon). "Sorry, but I do not know what you said." Vedrit told the woman.

Cirtolthiel blinked in surprise, but quickly concealed her emotion. An elf that doesn't know the ancient language? How...rare! Cirtolthiel thought. She straightened up a little.
"Oh, I am sorry. I wasn't aware of that. I just was apologizing for my ignorance of your position as a Rider. I'm a member of the Varden, and I would be happy to assist you if needed." Cirtolthiel paused and glanced at Farid. She was pretty sure he would be surprised too. She continued, "My name is Cirtolthiel, of Ellesméra. I am an "ambassador", if you will, for Queen Islanzadì," she spoke carefully, while looking at the dragon in interest.
And to have your dragon land in a public place... Cirtolthiel thought about this. She hadn't intended to make a scene. And now here she was, in the middle of it.

Farid smirked. What a dense elf... he thought. "How did you train in Elesmera... assuming you did." He turned to the dragon. Amerylis would LOVE this... He thought looking at the dragon with an awed expression. He took a step twards her and looked at her bright scale. He walked around her, looking her up and down as her circled her. He made sure to stay a good distance from the head and tail. When he returned to Cirtoltheil's side he nodded his approval. "She's a nice dragon. Great possibilities await him"He said in the ancient language to her. He looked to the other male elf. "What are your names?" He asked eyeing the dragon, but speaking where the elf could understand. "She is a magnificent dragon..." He repeated to the other elf.

"Elesmera? Isnt that a forest city? Ive never been there." Vedrit said, "I am Vedrit, this is Sonya." Sonya watched the elf walk around her. Vedrit turned to Cirtolthiel "It is an honor to meet some one of both the Elves and the Varden, the latter being very hard to find and join." Sonya snorted "Tell Cirtolthiel that I doubt she is an ambassador. And tell what ever his name is to stop gaping at me." Sonya told Vedrit, who did so.

"Ellesmera? Isn't that a forest city? I've never been there. I am Vedrit, this is Sonya. "
"Ah yes, it is the most radiant of our cities. And I am charmed to meet you as well, Dragon Sonya, " Cirtolthiel said kindly.
"It is an honor to meet some one of both the Elves and the Varden, the latter being very hard to find and join."
At first, Cirtolthiel was flattered. But her words were rather stiff when she replied, "Well, I've been tied to the Varden all my life..." and she did not continue. She suddenly was very aware that these two could be part of the Empire - a thought that made her quite uneasy.
"Sonya says that she doubts you are an ambassador."
Cirtolthiel narrowed her eyes. "Not a formal ambassador, but I am a - oh, what would you like to call it, a messenger girl?" Cirtolthiel said with a hint of anger in her voice. She had treated these two with the utmost respect, and this is how they treated her? With scorn and skepticism? Cirtolthiel felt somewhat insulted, although she had taken worse hits in her life. She did not allow her expressions to flow through, however. Her finger traced over her sword hilt.
((Vedrit, I changed your dialogue a bit so I could reply))

Farid glared at the two of them. He looked over to Cirtolthiel and watched as she spoke to the dragon, her hand reaching for her sword. His lips turned into a smile. "You to are rather cocky for someone who has shown respect to you. Careful or one may think you are the enemy." his hands too found his hilt of his elven sword. He wrapped his fingures tightly around it till his knuckles turned a pale pink. He eyed Cirtolthiel. "Do you find him a threat?" He asked in the ancient language. "I have come to join the Varden. I am a friend." He said quickly to her, agian in the ancient language.

Cirtolthiel frowned. She turned back to Farid.
"Do you find him a threat?" he asked in the ancient language.
Cirtolthiel looked troubled. "I'm not sure yet. They could be a possible threat, or maybe just cautious allies. Either way, I'm not letting my guard down." She bit her lip, and almost subconsciously, sent up several mental barriers. It was a habit she had gotten used to in her training many years ago. Cirtolthiel brushed her bangs out of her face. She met Farid's eyes again.
"I have come to join the Varden. I am a friend," Farid added. Cirtolthiel nodded.
"Yes, I thought as much. I will bring you to them later, but first, let's sort this out." Cirtolthiel answered him and directed her attention back to the Rider and his dragon. Farid was right. This dragon was beautiful. For a fleeting moment, Cirtolthiel wished she had one. She quickly dismissed the thought. Now is not the time to ponder such things, she scolded herself.

Vedrit was aware that both had thier hands on the hilts of thier swords, "Do you think I am an enemy? No! I would rather bary myself beneath the earth than serve the Empire." He said, though he didnt know whether they beleived him "If elves are this foolish, then I am not an elf." He told Sonya. "As I said before, the Varden are hard to find. For months I have been in search of the Varden and join them, but if you are any example, then I may make my own rebellion, rather than join a bunch of people who do not know friend from foe." "You may have crossed a line. They are elves, and will be tougher than those Empire spies. If they decide to, you will surely die." Sonya told Vedrit.
