It was a day after they had left Fasaloft. Nothing had been solved yet, but atleast the auras had cooled down. For a moment atleast. Zark and Ardocc were asleep at the tents. Torin didn't want to leave those two alone, but he had to go get a bath. He found a local creek, and undressed to his underwear. He dipped in the water and shivered. The water was about 50 degrees. Torin said "Brisingr" and the water heated up. He soaked his body for about 10 minutes and came out. He said "Brisingr" again to dry his underwear and put on the rest of his clothes. Torin traveled back to their camp and set up a fire. He cooked some bird eggs he found on his way back and got the rest of his jerky out up Roland's Saddle. He woke up Zark and Ardocc by dumping some water on thier faces. Torin loved to wake people up. They woke up to a start and Torin shoved their wooden plates in their faces. He still noticed that their was still tension between Ardocc and Zark, so he decided to take out a small wooden flute out of his saddle. Torin played them a merry tune, which in turn seemed to cheer up their spirits. Or atleast Ardocc's. Everyone packed up camp and went on their way to Dras-Leona. When Torin got on his horse though, he saw a flicker way ahead. Torin sensed Danger, but it was atlest 20 miles ahead.

Splash. The cold water hit Ardocc's face. He jumped up and hit his head off a pole holding the tent up. Then he tripped over his bedding and fell.
What a wonderful wake up.
Soon after they ate breakfast while Torin played a flute. It was a great tune. It made Ardocc feel more cheerful than he wanted to be. He just wanted to be gloomy and not talk. So he didn't. They all packed up the camp and got on their horses.
They all rode in silence. He looked from Zark to Torin. Zark looked like his normal self, for however normal he is. But Torin was riding different than usual. He was way more focused than the other times he rode with him. Ardocc tried to focus on what he was, but didn't see anything.
Maybe he is just daydreaming.
"What are you looking at?" He asked Torin.

"What are you looking at?"
Ardocc asked Torin. Torin was concentrating on the thing miles infront of him.
"Oh its probably nothing. Just a bird I bet."
Torin chuckled and tried to revert to the way he was before, but he couldn't shake off that feeling. Something big was going to happen, except Torin didn't know what. He tried to prepare himself mentally. Torin looked over to Zark to see if he noticed anything, but it didn't look like he did. He just seemed in a gloomy mood, and probably wouldn't talk all morning.
"So, where are the other packages supposed to go?"
((Zark, we are just moving the story on, Hope you don't mind. All you have to do is talk to get back in the story. Thanks))

He could tell by the way Torin said that there was nothing, that there was something. Torin had a better sense of these things than Ardocc. So Ardocc trusted him.
"So, where are the other packages supposed to go?" Torin asked
"Well I really don't care anymore, I hate delivering. These people are stupid, they don't know what went on so they shouldn't freak out." He said, referring to the last encounter.
" I'll just pick one more, and that will be the last one I deliver" He said as he reached behind and pulled out a box out of his pack attached to the saddle.
"Illium it says. Isn't that where were headed anyways?" He asked Torin.

Zark woke up with a start, it certainly sent a shock in his system. Not that he needed that to wake him. His dreams were not exactly a paradise. He at his food silently, gloomy as he was in the mornings.
Zark listened to Ardocc and Torin, about their chat of packages. It annoyed Zark he felt the urge to snap at them or make them unable to speak for a while or something. Suffice to say, Zark resisted the urge to silence them well enough.

"Wow. Isn't that convienient. (( )) Well then we have to get to Dras-Leona. There we can get a ride to Illium." Torin rode on and saw the flicker again. "There is something ahead of us, that I am certain. Be prepared for battle." Torin took out his fathers knife. The black blade glistened in the sun. Torin strengthened his site by magic and saw about 25 urgals ahead of them. "There are a whole bunch of Urgals ahead." Torin tried to keep his cool, but the memories of his caravan were still hot in his head. Roland sensing Torin's excitment, dashed forward towards the urgals.

Nola grumbled something inaudible into her arms and closed her eyelids tightly. The bed roll wasn't exceptionally comfortable, but it was all she could afford. Plus it was the only bed she hadn't somehow lost. In the back of her mind that some how made it a bit better. She rolled over and stumbled out of bed. Her young, keen, green eyes gazed at her small camp site letting out a small yawn as she stood.
This young women had always wished to travel the land of Alagaesia and was doing so by traveling to Dras-Leona. "I need a horse...." she stated calmly to herself with a small yawn at the end thinking of only easy travel.
Standing there she made no movements only listened to what erupted from within her surroundings, sudden breaks in the air came her way. There was movement close by, but more importantly there was movement in her direction. Before she heard steps, the air changed. The persons path was directed right for her. A quick conclusion came to mind Urgals or fellow travelers. Nola did not want to end up meeting either. Packing her things quickly she began to move.
Nola had no idea she was so close to Torin, Ardocc, and Zark or heading their way. More so no idea of the Urgal camp only a few yards away.

Zark simply nodded and muttered something under his breath, as a shadow came from underneath his coat and sped forward. Then he close his eyes, as if listening to a distant voice. Then opened them and glanced at Torin and Ardocc, saying, "Your right, but there is someone else over there. A girl, and she is not far off from the urgals. I suggest we move quickly." Then he hopped of the horse, used his mind to tell it to wait then jumped to a nearby tree. Shadows began to come out of his coat and almost seemed to aid him gain air. He had jumped clearly 8 feet into the tree, landing on a branch. Then hhe began to jump on other branches, making his way to the urgals till he was hidden in above them, and he could see the nearby girl.

Ardocc listened intently to what they both had to say about the urgals. Then when the subject of a girl was mentioned and Zark hopped off his horse and went leaping through the trees, Ardocc had no idea what was going on. So he looked towards Torin and said, "Shall we?"
Then he rode off encouraging his horse to catch up with Zark. He didn't doubt his abilities, he just wanted to see what was going on. Then after a while, Ardocc laid eyes on a girl with red hair. He did not want to call out to her for fear of the urgals gaining advantage. It was good enough already for them to be downwind. So they undoubtedly knew of all these traveler's presences.
So he continued to ride up.

Torin rode on finding the girl Zark said would be there. He whispered to her.
"Listen closely and don't talk. There is a group of Urgals about a mile ahead of us. I dare you to speak or I will rip your tongue out."
Torin's blood was pumping hardcore. He just wanted to charge into the Urgals and slaughter every last one of them. But his judgement went against his heart. He knew though that his heart would win out soon. The girl looked up, obviously not knowing about the Urgals. She looked like she had just woken up, but yet she didn't look scared. She had a fire in her eyes. She immediatley understood their situation. Hopefully she understood that Torin wasn't threatening her, just trying to protect his friends. Torin tried to make up a clear plan in his mind, but he couldn't think clearly. It took all of Torin's willpower to not kill all of the Urgals. But when Torin heard a few of them talk, he couldn't hold out any longer and charged into the Urgal camp. He pulled out his knife into an Urgals throat. The Urgals didn't know what hit them, but before they knew it, 2 were dead. The second died of a hole through his stomach. Torin was on the third one, but this time the Urgals reacted. The Urgal tried to block, but Torin slid under his defenses and sliced open his guts. Torin was fighting like a madman. The dance with death was on, and Torin didn't care if he died.

Nola did not respond well to orders but understood that now was not the time to argue. She also knew that this man was just trying to help his friends. Examining the male travelers quickly her hand went to her sword on her side and gripped it tightly.
Once the man was in battle she spoke."No one talks to me like that..."speaking with a small hiss. After these Urgals she would have to finish this thing off. That wasn't on her list of most wanted things to do.
Pushing some flame red like hair from her face and taking a deep breath. Nola went at the Urgals. Cant let the guys have all the fun..
She gripped her still-drawn sword with two hands, and prepared for battle. She didn't give the first Urgal any time to get close enough to her.She made her attack quick. She swung her blade right at the Urgal's kneecap, hoping it to shatter and make it incapable of walking correctly. It did just that and once the dirty thing was on his knees she finished him by cutting his head off.

Zark watched the battle unfold, he didn't lose hismelf to the rage and lust of killing these brutes, he watched the girl fight, watching her moves and trying to peace together her fightings style if there was any. He then whispered, "Garjzla..." His hand was outstretched, his thoughts imagining what he wanted to be done. Then it was done. A burst of green light and energy erupted from the center of the group of urgals, burning them as they were lit up with green flames. Then his spirits took the toll for him. Because of the energy of his attack his spirits were used up instead of his own strength. Now he was short of four spirits out of a dozen. He was also slightly fatigued, nothing a little bit of rest help. Zark returned to the task at hand, counting how many of already fallen. 10 down already, 15 left to go. easy. THen he began to probe the urgal's mind, attacking it with all of his willpower. The urgal crumbled to the ground, writhing in pain from his assault. Before he decided to attack another he decided to speak to his comrades. Don't react to my voice in your head, don't look up, keep on fighting. I would prefer to remain hidden form sight from all down there. The girl is no exception.OOC: Narkari, just so you know, my guy his hidden in the trees looking over the urgals. They don't even know he's there.

Ardocc was no exception to this battle. He followed Torin in and then went the opposite way, he unsheathed his sword and he and his horse flew through the camp swinging at any of the brutes he could. He thought he killed about 3 when some at the end of the campsite all grabbed spears and made a wall. Ardocc's horse had no time to respond and they ran headlong into it. The spears slid through the horses chest and neck and flung Ardocc out of the saddle over the urgal's heads. He flung around frantically in mid air so that he didn't land on his head and ended up landing on his back in the mud. He was out of breath but had to get up. He grabbed his mud covered sword and got back up surrounded by the urgal's spears. It was a showdown now.
First he looked for the biggest gap in the small circle. Jackpot he thought as he saw a opening big enough for him to slip through. He waited for the right moment. Just then Zark brought down an urgal through his mind next to the circle and they got distracted. 'Now' his mind screamed and in one fluid motion he sliced full power at the knees of the urgal by gap. Then he rolled through the opening and faced a wall of 4 spear drawn urgals.
When Zark told them to keep his location secret Ardocc agreed and ran towards the urgals sword drawn.

Torin was oblivious to what was happening around him. He had already killed a few Urgals, but their were around 15 more to kill. When Zark told everyone to not reveal his location, Torin had blocked out his mind so he could concentrate. Torin drew his dagger out of another Urgal's neck, and charged onto a group of 4 Urgals looking the other direction. He jumped on one of them and chopped off its entire arm. The Urgal fell on the ground, bleeding to death. Torin was upon the second Urgal in another second and in another second it's insides were on the grass. The Dance with Death was almost over, and Torin didn't care if he died.

Nola was a bit taken aback for a second by the green flames and gripped her sword even tighter. A sorcerer or wizard was just going to make her day great.
She smirked as she pulled Mor'ranr up toward her face. The light reflected off her sword. She closed her eyes, and took a deep breath. She opened them again and took an attack stance the Urgal charging at her.
Nola rushed forward like a blur. She swung her sword up in a left to right dangle motion. With that one done she turned to attack more when another was right upon her. Little time to dodge she received a cut on her arm and cursed under her breath falling down on her butt. Her quick reflexes were advantage now for when the Urgal attacked for a final blow she rolled and lunged at him on the side. Nola ignored the pain from her upper arm and the deep red blood coming from it.

Post by Dwandir - Dondir on Dec 16, 2006 14:50:36 GMT -5
--Dwanir and Dondir had been tracking a group of Urgals going south for quite a long time. They traveled many leagues on their pony. The giant group spread apart around Uru 'baen and about 20 - 30 urgals went in the direction of Dras Leona. This happened 5 days before. After the 4th day and the small urgal party hadn't returned, the bigger party of about 50 left in the same direction. Dwanir and Dondir rode way around and ahead of this large party to see where the smaller one had gone.
When they got to Dras Leona they didn't see anything so they camped out. The next day they rode farther down and were observing the small party when two human men on horseback, and a human women with red hair started battling. They saw what was going on and figured since this ruined their research on this band of urgals they may as well help kill in case the urgals proved to many. --
So just then two dwarfs on the same pony rode in wield two double sided battle axes on either side. They swept into the small battle and hacking at any passing enemies. Mostly hitting their knees and stomachs if lucky. They soon saw the outcome of one man's horse and jumped off their pony and told him to run and wait by the woods. Now they were back to back, and ready to fight anything. They then saw one of the men facing about 4 urgals so they ran to behind them, climbing over dead urgals and torn ground. They both knew what the other was thinking and with his fingers Dwanir counted to three and they both swung their axe at the legs of one urgal, falling him in pain.

There were 5 Urgals left. Torin wasn't sure where Ardocc was, and the girl was injured. Torin was with 2 dwarves who had just jumped into the fight, and Zark up in the trees. Torin looked behind him and saw the dwarves kill another Urgal. Torin jumped on 2 at the same time, slicing them open and lobbing off the one Urgals head. Torin was calming down. But he still had a job to do, 2 Urgals were left. He wanted to kill them so bad, but he hoped that the dwarves would get them, so Torin could check out the condition of the girl and Ardocc. Torin ran over to the girl.
"Are you okay? Sorry about earlier, I just couldn't let them take the advantage."
Torin smiled at the girl. Hopefully she understood, she was pretty cute too, but way older then him.

Ardocc ran to the dwarfs after they brought another urgal to it's death and said "Who are you men?"
Then he looked around at the carnage. It looked as though none of his party was hurt, but Torin was over next to the girl and it looked as though she may have been injured. He didn't know the exact location of Zark but he knew he was in the forest where the dwarfs pony ran.
My horse!
He remembered, and he ran to the spot where his horse lay, half in blood and half in mud. It was clearly dead. He felt sorry for the horse. What a horrible death he thought.

"I am Dwandir and he is Dondir" He said pointing to his brother. "We have tracked this and another group of urgals here for many days, and we have overheard them talking of a ship to Illium. They had split and this was the small first party. And because of when we left we learned of this and the second party will arrive either tonight or in the morning." After he filled Ardocc in on their travels Dwanir walked over to Torin and the girl and said, "Hello, you two are great fighters, I saw when you were hit" directing this toward the girl, "and it was a cheap shot on the urgal's behalf." Then speaking towards Torin he said, " You have a very unique style, that of which I have never studied in my war history."
Meanwhile Dondir was with Ardocc helping him get the thing he needed from the fallen horse's saddle. Ardocc seemed quite interested in the well being of a small brown box.

Sorcerers, dwarves and Urgals...Oh my. How did her peaceful trip turn into this? Nola green eyes studied the dwarves and the men her face still calm but her eyes still seemed to be in the battle. It would had been nice to get to know these men and she heard dwarves had unique personalities.
She used her other hand to let down her red wavy hair from its ponytail and gave a faint smile at the Torin.
"Ill be fine....Next time learn how to speak to a lady."She said with a small wink putting her sword away. It might be unwise but she had other ways to fight then a sword if these men proved ill toward her.
Looking down at the Dwandir Nola spoke again."Its nice to meet you. I'm Nola..." She used her free hand to hold down on the cut for pressure and to hold the blood. She flinched a little and wanted to soon go back to her bag and get as far as she could after putting a bandage on her arm. These guys troubles were not her own.
