"No greater pleasure than spilling blood," Vavrin snarled, flourishing her sword with a flick of the wrist, eyes focused intently upon the group of men. Running towards the guard who was nearest, she impaled him in the chest before he had the chance to reach for the hilt of his sword. As he fell, another guard leapt at her.
He took many a swing at her with his sword, each swiftly parried by her own. She could almost see the rusted wheels of his mind turning, as he struggled to out-manuever her. Vavrin toyed with him, almost daring him to get a nick on her. The guard growled with each attack, finally he ducked low to hit her at the knee. Vavrin gripped her sword tightly as she deflected, and she stepped in and hit the man square in the forhead with the very end of her hilt. He fell back on the ground just, and she beheaded him with a swift downward slash. Vavrin flourished her sword again, smirking as her eyes darted to another guard.

Onyxia winged about above Narda, high enough to stay out of view but still be able to view the going ons below. Two small skirmishes were visible among the dark houses.
"I think it is safe to say that the hornets nest is beginning to stir." Nihael spoke, conversationally from Onyxia's back, "Care to join the fun?"
Need you ask?
"That was the answer I hoped for." he said, a grim smile on his face as Onyxia pelted downwards towards a barracks that was just beginning to show signs of stirring as men exited every now and then, forming up in the street outside it. A spear of shadow and fire seemed to fall amongs the men below as Onyxia spewed great gouts of flame from her gaping maws and Nihael projected wagon sized balls of flames to smash among the gathered men and their surroundings. It took only a couple passes before the entire barracks and the garrison within was reduced to ash and the two landed amongst the smoldering wreckage, most of the flames running down as there was no fuel left to burn. Calmly drawing his swords, Nihael set about finishing any remaining pockets of soldiers that scattered away in time.

Then I fear what you find pleasureable outside battle, Yang said, stabbing his sword through a man's chest. Yin used Yang as support and jumped over him, tackling the man behind the one Yang had finished off. He pushed the soldier against the wall with his staff, pinning him there. Yang stabbed the pinned soldier quickly and moved onto another. Yin and Yang looked into the air quickly.
I see smoke, Yin said, still looking at the air as he parried off a sword.
And I smell it, Yang responded, removing the head of the soldier attacking Yin. Seems Nihael has decided to join the fun.
Fun indeed. Yin tackled a man onto the gound, standing on his chest as he pressed the soliders neck down with his staff. He bent down, his face pressed down next to the solider's, hissing words into his ears. "Isn't this fuuuuun?" With a quick twist, the man's neck snapped and Yin moved onto his next victim.

"Perhaps a conversation for another time." Vavrin had just finished lopping off the leg of her last guard when she smelled the distinct scent of smoke. Knowing that it could only mean Nihael had joined them somewheres in the city, she wondered for how long they had been fighting in the night.
Just when she thought she was done, a few more guards came running into the street. It was almost getting repetitive, but there wasnt anything else to do but kill them before they got away. Two men came into her line of eyesight, and she said words under her breath that would break thier legs below the knee. As they collapsed on the spot, Vavrin took her time walking until she stood right above them, and with her sword she split thier bellies wide open, relishing the sound of thier screams.

Another time indeed, Yin said as he kicked someone through a wall. He walked into the building, a few guards following him in.
Maybe we can discusss this over dinner or something... Yang said as he backed into a corner and cut his way out.
Or over a bed, Yin said with a laugh, walking out of the house. He held a large flask in his hand filled with a kind of alcohol. Guess who I am.
Yin filled his mouth with the drink and then held a tourch to his mouth. He shot it out and set the house on fire. He turned and then burned the remaining guards on fire.

"Or both," Vavrin said with a smirk, "if we ever finish up here. I *tire* of this." She flourished her sword lazily, watching as Yin torched the building and its guards.
"Hmm, I know. Youre supposed to be Onyxia." Vavrin didnt see or hear any signs of the dragon or its Rider, though she figured they were tangled up with more guards of thier own. Vavrin frowned slightly, it seemed like they had been fighting thier way through the city for hours on end. The guards that had been set alight danced in front of her eyes, amusing her only slightly.

Soon enough, the watch tower and all the guard stations had been burned to the ground. Civilians evacuated or killed, and the city set ablaze for quite some time until a storm took care of it. Yin and Yang were soaked to the bone from sweat and rain by the end of it all, killing the final captain with a quick twist of the blades. Well, that was quite the work out, Yin said, leaning onto his staff. He let the pouring rain run down his face as he stared up at the sky.
My muscles scream and burn, Yang said, sinking to the ground. I think I'm going to be in quite the pain tomorrow.[/i]
Most of my muscles anyway, Yin said, smiling at Vavrin. I could go for a few rounds of fighting with our favorite Shade.

Vavrin's body was for the most part unscathed, though her clothes in slight disarray. She pulled at the hem of her tunic absently as she said, "Quite the workout indeed, though pain is temporary, in our case anyway." She glanced around at the numerous bodies that had littered the narrow streets, the blood mixing with the rainfall which formed large puddles.
Vavrin looked up from her bloodied sword which was catching raindrops and raised her arched eyebrows in mock surprise at Yin's statement. "You think you could handle me?" Vavrin teased, a few locks of her long bangs falling into her eyes. She pushed them aside with the back of her hand, the rain dampening her hair and cleansing her forehead of the beads of persperation that had accumulated from battle.

Yin laughed as he swayed. Yang stood up and supported his brother, each leaning their backs on eachother. They had thrown their shirts back on in the midst of battle, but they hung like rags on their backs. Burns, dust, and cuts turned Yin's clean, white shirt to brown, black and red. Yang's was covered in bits of white from ramming people through the dusty, wooden houses. Yin grabbed the flask from his side, still half full, and tossed it at Vavrin. "Maybe after a drink," Yin and Yang said, wobbling slightly. "And after we get cleaned up."

Catching the flask in her hand, she smirked as she brought it to her lips and took a short sip. "And where do you propose we get cleaned up at in the midst of this place?" She was rather curious, perhaps there was an inn or something she had overlooked.
Replacing the cap on the flask, Vavrin sheathed her sword at her hip and waited. "I wouldnt mind grabbing something to eat, come to think of it..."

I believe we left a taven in tact,[/i] Yang said, straightening himself out. He stretched out his arms and back, joints popping and muscles screaming as he pressed them. He finished stretching and led the way. I'll be able to cook.[/i]
We may not eat meat,[/i] Yin said, stretching as well and leaning on Vavrin. But Yang is a mean cook. You should taste his sausage. He can also scramble one hell of an egg.[/i]
Yang looked at the sky, looking for signs of Nihael and Onyxia. The rider will miss out on the fun,[/i] he thought outloud. They reached a tavern, the door half burnt but still in tact. Shame.[/i]
Shame indeed, Yang. Now, how about some fish?[/i]

Nihael leaned against Onyxia's side, satisfied that there was no one else left alive that he could detect.
"Do you sense anyone nearby?"
None, finally. There were alot more people in this wretched town than I initially suspected.
"The Varden must have had some rather large plans for this place to have so many soldiers in it. I am quite happy to have burst their bubble."
Should we search for the others?[/i]
"They should be fine by themselves for a bit." I am sure they would have been able to hold their own, those two aren't completely decrepit.

Vavrin nudged her shoulder into Yin and entered the shoddy tavern and glanced around. "I dont like eggs. Or fish for that matter," she mumbled. "I want some cheese. Or chicken... grilled chicken, yes... and something cold and expensive to drink." Vavrin's stomach growled angrily in response to her thoughts about food. She couldnt remember being that starved for a long time since thier journey.
Glancing around, there was a worn-looking wooden bench that ran about halfway down the tavern's wall. Sprawling out on it, she lay flat on her back and cracked her knuckles. With each pop she felt a bit of released tension from clutching her sword for so long.

Yang walked through the kitchen doors and into the kitchen, rummaging through their supplies. He entered the stone cellar where they kept the meats, cold with the held of a marble floor. Well the tavern owner is not poor, that's for sure... Yang commented as his feet touched the floor. Hanging beef swung as he pushed them aside until he got to a crate of chicken, already cut up. He grabbed the box and threw it onto his shoulder, grabbing a roll of cheese other hand as he walked back upstairs. Lucky you, Vavrin. I found a crate full of chicken.
Yin walked into the back and into the back storage area, moving barrels of beer until he found a wall of wine. He grabbed a few bottles, uncorking them and smelling their fregrance. He decided on one bottle and walked back through the kitchen, past Yang who was grilling the chicken and fish, and towards Vavrin. He sat down on the bench by her head and looked down at her. Say 'ah,' he told her, uncorking the bottle. He poured some of the wine into her mouth and took a sip himself. Good?[/i]

Vavrin's ears perked at the mention of the crate full of chicken. It would be a welcome change to what little she ate on the road. She enjoyed the full bodied flavour of the wine, closing her eyes momentarily as she stretched her legs further. "Mmmm.. that is rather nice." The Shade opened her dark eyes again and looked up at Yin as he sampled the wine for himself.
Gently she let her head rest against Yin's knee. "We've accomplished much tonight," she mused. We deserve to eat well, and rest at our leisure. I think we've all earned it, dont you?" Vavrin lay silent, listening to the poundings of the rain against the roof as she fiddled with her leather bracers.

Leasure and fun are well deserved,[/i] Yin said, holding out the bottle to Vavrin. But I prefer a reward that requires little sleep.[/i]
Yin listened as the meats sizzled in the backround, added with the sound of rain. Yang drew his daggers and began slicing the cheese quickly, making them into large cubes and placing them onto the plates. He began cutting the bread followed by cleaning the fish. He quickly flipped over the chicken on the grill and then returned to cutting up the veggies.

Taking the bottle, Vavrin took another sip then replaced the cork. "Prefer, do you. And what sort of reward would this be, exactly?" she asked, a hint of amusement in her voice. She rolled the bottle over in her hand, glancing momentarily at the label on the outside.
The rain showed no signs of letting up. It continually battered the roof, though the sound of it was pleasant, and had a calming effect upon the empty tavern. Soon, the aroma of cooking food filled the room. It was almost like being in someone's home, save for the fact that the former inhabitants were lying dead somewhere not too far. Vavrin was pleased to have taken refuge in the tavern, where everything going on in the outside world didnt seem to matter, if only for a little while.

Nihael lounged in the rain, leaning his back against Onyxia side, feeling the steady beat of her heartbeat as he let the rain wash the blood and grime from his body.
Care to search for them now?
As long as they found something to eat by now.
I worked up quite an appetite myself.
Hopping onto Onyxia's back, they quickly set out overhead, looking for any signs of life.

A reward Galbatorix cannot pay me,[/i] Yin said, leaning his back against the wall. His muscles ached as pressure was applied against them. He cracked his neck when he heard the noise in the kitchen stop. The door swung open and Yang came walking with a large tray of food hidden under a lid. He placed it on the center table and looked at Yin and Vavrin.
Care to be useful and grab the utencils?[/i] Yang said, turning back towards the kitchen to get the rest of the food. Yin'll set the table. Pour us some drinks, Vavrin?[/i]
Yin sighed and stood up, walking to the kitchen and collecting a thing of dishes, cups, and bowls.Yang returned and placed a tray of sliced bread and cheeses onto the table.

"Ah," she said simply as Yin went to fetch the needed utensils. Giving the bottle that was in her hand a bit of a shake, it was nearly empty. Vavrin sat up straight and stretched her arms over her head, then got up and made her way to where the assorted drinks were kept. She set the bottle in the wastebasket and knelt down to find another bottle of wine. Reaching far into the back, past the ales, mead, and beer until her fingers grasped the slender neck of a wine bottle, she took it out and the label matched that of the previous bottle she and Yin had sampled.
Vavrin returned a few moments later, wine in hand, and walked over to where Yang was at the tableside. "It is a fine wine," she said with a smile, and waited until the cups were set into place until she could serve the drink.
