Arrival

Az trudged up the barren land when he at last saw what he had been traveling for, for to many days to count. Surda! He trudged along and by night fall he had reached the capital. If I were to find the varden anywhere the capital might be the best place to start. If the king is there the leaders of the varden are sure to be there.He had found a small alley to lay in for the night while he waited until the morn to seek the varden.

[Mariya]

Mariya spotted the man in the ally she ws staying in. "Do you mind...this alley isn't big enough for both of us and I was here before you."

Shadow walked up behind her and growled.

[Az™]

"Do you mind...this alley isn't big enough for both of us and I was here before you."

Az heard a voice say as he went to lay down. "Sorry then I guess I'll find another place to sleep. Hopefully fast." The elf turned and started to walk as he heard a growl. I am not your enemy. Calm your mind.He continued to walk away.

[Mariya]

"Your pathetic......didn't even put up a fight about it." Mariya said as she saw him leaving.

Shadow stopped growling after the man entered his mind. He then backed up a bit.

Mariya noticed this. "Your a Rider...aren't you?"

[Az™]

"No I am on my way to see the Varden. I am an Elf" He said as he showed her his ears. " Honestly I have traveled far and don't have the energy to fight over somthing stupid."

[Mariya]

"I know where the Varden is....unless they moved in the last week." Mariya said now putting up barriers in her mind. "The name's Mariya...my wolf is Shadow, you are?"

[Az™]

" You can call me Az. I best be going as need to get some rest before I meet the Varden. I hope that we may cross paths again,Mariya and Shadow."

[Mariya]

"I didn't tell you where they are....and besides I thought we could go together since I'm going back." Mariya said with a slight smile.

[Az™]

" I never said you did." Humans are strange ones. Well then Early to be means early to rise." Az went to lie down some where that would not bother them.

[Mariya]

"Keep watch shadow" Mariya said as she laid down and a bit later she fell asleep. but before she did she thought Elves are so odd...

[Az™]

Az had woken up at the crack of light went back to where he had met the strange human and her wolf.He waited there for them both to wake and get on there way.

[Mariya]

Shadow watched Az wake up and sniffed him.

Mariya came by the ally with two horses. "Lets go" She said handing him the reains of a beutiful white war-horse.

[Az™]

" Is it really that far and we require horses? I mean we can't be to far off?" Az said as he took the reigns but did not get onto the horse yet.He watched as children were running around early in the morning away from the parents so they would not have to do any work.Stall and small markets began to open up and the smell of fresh fruit filled Az's Nostrils. He longed for the food back home.

((OOC:I'm trying my best I can't exactly think up 75 words for a single post....it's impossible for me it takes me 5 months to make up 365 words for a single chapter to a fan fic.))

Mariya sighed and let the horses go. She then started walking twords the castle.

Az sped up to catch her before she ran out of his eyesight. He wolf companion shadow seemed to not be seen Az thought or is hiding from the densly populated area and could scare someone.
"How long will it take us to get there? After that is there a usual wait to see the varden heads? "Az didn't feel like waiting after all he has traveled but then again they have no way of knowing that.

[Mariya]

"There might be....I don't know until we get there. But I'm sure Lord Theod is eager to see me again." Mariya said with a laugh.

[Az™]

Hoping that he would not have to wait long Az was interested. " Why is he so interested in you? I mean you don't look very important in your lying around in alleys."Az felt they had been walking forever but by the look of it it had only been a couple mins. The eagerness inside of him was to great to control.

[Mariya]

"Well I'm the only Thief in the Varden....so I get missions from him to steal plans from the Empire. Where do you think thieves lived in palaces?" Mariya asked him. to think the last elf I met knew it from the moment she saw me

[Cirtolthiel]

Cirtolthiel was already in the Varden's headquarters. She was sitting at the council table, letting the meeting drone on but somehow still listening to the Elders speak.

"Messenger Fleetfoot!" said a voice sharply. Cirtolthiel instantly blinked out of her trance. Why couldn't the darn people call her Cirtolthiel, like everyone else? She folded her hands together and looked up at the woman.

"Madam?" Cirtolthiel addressed after a pause.

"Would you know where the Varden Thief, Mariya, is?" the woman's gaze pierced into Cirtolthiel's face. Cirtolthiel decided to stare right back at her.

"No, madam. It is not my duty to be aware of such people," Cirtolthiel answered coolly. She was already hoping she wouldn't have to find this person. The woman pursed her lips.

"Messenger Fleetfoot, I order you to find Mariya." Cirtolthiel sighed and closed her eyes for a second.

"As you wish, madam," Cirtolthiel replied. She straightened up from the table and swept out of the room.


Now that she was back in the blazing sun, Cirtolthiel was really wishing she didn't have to find the thief. But the hurried along the jagged streets anyway, stepping into any little square of shade she could.

[Mariya]

Mariya sighed as they arrived at the palace. She spotted Cirtolthiel and smiled. "Looking for someone?" bet she was sent to find me

Just then shadow poped out froma near-by alley and went to Mariya's side.

Mariya smiled when her wolf companion came twords her she leaned down and lovingly scratched his ear.
