Unsatisfactory?[/i] Yang asked, following Vavrin's lead and walking towards the table. I could ask you the same. Perhaps the pig sty would make you feel more at home.[/i]
He walked past the table and leaned against the nearby counter, looking down at the table and Nihael's drink. You offer a drink? I wouldn't want you to be harmed when the house comes down upon you.[/i] Yang reached his hand to his waist and grabbed his water skin. I believe I will be fine with this. I would not want to do something I would regret.[/i] Yang's eyes flashed at Vavrin as he drank.

Nihael caught the look Yang gave Vavrin when he mentioned doing things he would regret and felt a flare of anger rise up inside him. Leaning back in his chair, he swung his legs on up onto the table, "I personally feel just as comfortable being in a shed as a palace. I really cannot be bothered as long as I have a roof over my head and walls to keep out of the cold. Plus I wouldn't want to get used to a bed, you might get used to it and go soft." keeping a smooth face the whole time he spoke, but his eyes glinted with a furious light. "I wouldn't worry about any buildings coming down on me, I can hold this thing up if need be, it is just that it would be a shame to throw away two diversionary tools such as you and your brother incase we had any trouble. You never know when a couple grunts can come in handy." he gave Yang an icy smile. Turning back towards Vavrin, the cold look softening noticeably, he repeated his offer, holding up the glass bottle.

Vavrin noted the look Yang gave her, and her eyebrows raised slightly in curiousity. She chose not to say anything in context to their conversation, instead she glanced back at Nihael, nodding to accept his offer of Brandy.
Vavrin relaxed and leaned back in her chair as she waited for Nihael to pour her a glass. It had been a great while since she had a drink of anything stronger than wine. She tried to recall when the last time was, where she was at. Figuring it was probably back in Uru'Baen, she mentally shrugged it off and and tried not to look overly interested in the words that were being exchanged by Yang and Nihael, even though it was apparent how the Rider's disposition changed when he addressed her directly.

I would hope my tongue, rider,[/i] Yang said, staring out the window. Less this grunt reveals your soft spot. I do, after all, hear everything.[/i]
Yang took a drink and glanced at Nihael and Vavrin. Every heart beat you skip, every change in the tone of your voice, and every time your breath gets taken away.[/i] Yang grinned at Nihael and pushed off the counter. Yes, rider, I believe it would be wise to hold your tongue less it be fed to your pet.[/i]
He walked past the table, brushing past Vavrin slightly. I'll be in your room if you'd like to...[/i] Yang paused, turning his head and stopping on the first step. Converse some more.[/i]

Nihael hardly noticed that his hands had gone white from his grip on the table, even when the wood splintered and a section of the table ripped away. Flames danced across his vision as he felt the power in him building up, begging for release. Surprisingly enough, he had not shattered the bottle of brandy in his other hand, and it was the cool glass that brought him out of his furious haze. Shaking his head in disgust, he forced the rage down and stared at the chunk of wood in his hand, eyes flicking back from it and the table where it had come off, before he threw it into the corner of the room, muttering under his breath. He hardly rmembered that Vavrin was still there until he noticed her with a start, remembering the drink offer, he poured her a glass, hands shaking slightly with fury. "I think I am going to take a walk outside for a while."

Vavrin lowered her eyes as she felt Yang brush past as he left first, then Nihael. She suddenly found herself alone in the dark kitchen, so she took her glass and began to drink. The brandy was of rather good quality, not like that of the wineskins she had drank from. She drank deeply from her glass and it was empty within minutes. Vavrin reached across the table, splinters scratching her hand as she took the bottle of brandy and poured herself a glass, emptied it, and filled it again.
How long Vavrin spent doing this, she didnt know. All she knew was that the brandy in the bottle was gone for some reason, and her eyelids felt very heavy. She tried to resist the urge to just lay her head on her arm and sleep. She brought the glass to her lips for the last time, its final drops being savored and she set it aside. Vavrin's eyes blinked blearily, she couldnt fight her weariness, and eventually she passed out on the table.

Yang gave a sigh as he walked into Vavrin's room. He closed the door and leaned against it. I suppose I've gone to far... he thought to himself as he heard footsteps walk away from the farm. Hm... louder and heavier steps then the shade. She must still be downstairs.
Yang unsheathed his sword and scratched it across the floor, drawing large symbols across the floor. He practiced his writing and swordsmenship for a few minutes until he heard an unfamiliar noise. He stalled for a minute, his sword stopped in the middle of writing, and turned towards the door. Opening it, he walked down the hall and down the stairs to find Vavrin passed out. He sighed slightly and walked towards her. "I believe you were the one who yelled at us for over drinking last time," Yang spoke, mainly to himself. He wrapped his arm around Vavrin and scooped her off her seat, carrying her to her room.

Nihael found a sizable thicket of trees, a fair distance away from the road. Drawing in energy from every living thing surrounding him, he sent a wave of solid-seeming air towards the trees with a few words, snapping and dragging trees and undergrowth out of the ground and pushing the whole mass, including some unfortunate animals along infront of it. Satisfied that he had let off some of his aggression and a little tired from the use of energy, he walked back to the farmhouse, deciding to have a drink of brandy before heading off to sleep.
Walking into the kitchen, he went straight to where he had left the bottle of brandy, he began to pick it up when he noticed that it was empty and that there was a single glass lying next to it. Empty, I thought it was nearly full when I left. That is too much for one person to have safely drunk. I suppose Vavrin must be drunk out her mind. I should probably check up on her. Walking up the stairs, headed towards the room Vavrin had been staying in. Silently padding up to it, he glanced inside and saw Yang placing her down on the bed. For a moment, his blood boiled for a reason he could not fathom, before he shook the feeling away and began to head away from the room. He probably just found her drunk and helped her up to her room he reasoned.

You left her alone with a bottle of brandy, Yang said to Nihael as he walked away. Yang covering Vavrin with a blanket, the smell of brandy coming off her breath. What did you expect to happen?
Yang watched Vavrin for a second, making sure she was in no position to roll off the bed, and then walked out the door, grabbing his coat as he passed. He closed the door behind him, leaving it slightly open by a crack. Walking into the room Yin had occupied, he was glad his eyes were not well so he could avoid seeing the childish decorations. He quickly found his bag and rummaged through the items, taking his time to waste the remaining hours of the night. He pulled out a small glass case with small pieces of fruit inside.
Yang closed his bag and stood up, the floor creaking under the weight. He looked back at Yin, making sure he was still asleep, and walked back towards Vavrin's room. For hangovers... Yang mainly said to himself, placing the item onto the table beside her. He looked around and found a small stool in the corner. He pulled it closer to the table beside Vavrin and sat down. I suppose I'll have to tell you about it in the morning...

Nihael spoke in a low voice, but the anger in it was not diminished even though it was a whisper, "What the hell do you mean by that? You make it sound as if it my fault. And you also make it sound as if Vavrin is some kind of drunkard. I didn't think she would get drunk, probably trying to stay down there and avoid you, especially with the two of you following her around like some kind of lapdog." Nihael finally let his anger get the better of his judgement, striding over to Yang, he slugged him in the temple.

Yang looked up at Nihael as he started to speak. He hadn't noticed that he had returned to the room. Ignoring Nihael's words, he turned his attention back to Vavrin, hearing her breathing change and checking if she had awakened. A hit to his temple snapped him back to reality.
I would advice you to not do that again, Yin said, his staff next to Nihael's head. Yang stood still, already half way up and sword partially drawn. Yin placed his face close to Nihael's ears. "Go back to bed, rider."
We were ordered to stay by Vavrin's side and protect her, even from a rider like yourself. We were also ordered to keep you safe, but the shade comes first. Yin pulled his staff away from Nihael and moved away from the doorway.
Sit down, brother, Yin order Yang. Eyes kept on Nihael, Yang sat down slowly, his hand still on his blade. The two of you have caused enough trouble as is.

Vavrin groaned and her eyes shot open as she heard the distinct sounds of fighting and arguing. Where am I...?She tried to focus, but all the could see were fuzzy blurs of movement. Not knowing exactly where she was or how she got there, she rubbed her eyes and sat upright, though a dull throbbing forced her to slow her movements.
Slowly, the fuzzy things began to become clearer, and she instantly recognized the voices of Yin, Yang, and Nihael. All of them were in her room, though she did not remember going back upstairs. Vavrin recalled Yang telling her hed be waiting for her upstairs.... Nihael leaving to take a long walk... he did not return.... Brandy. Ughhh. Smart move, Vavrin.
Vavrin glared at the men, Yang with his hand on his sword, Yin pulling his staff away from Nihael, and Nihael. Sitting a little more upright, her eyes kept shifting to all three of them for an answer of some sort. "Anyone care to tell me what the HELL is going on?" The sound of her own voice made her head throb even more. She winced slightly but tried not to let it bother her.

Malthinae Sharjalvi - Confine Movement. The words almost left Nihael's mouth when he heard Vavrin speak.
"Anyone care to tell me what the HELL is going on?"
The haze lifted from his eyes as her voice brought him to his senses. With a last icy look at Yang, he turned to Vavrin, "I had just come to see how you were doing and we were having a friendly discussion. We just happened to disagree on a certain subject, nothing serious really." he stepped to her side at the bed and gently placed a hand on her shoulder, "You should not be sitting up right now. You will only make things worse in the morning. We have a long way to travel and I would not want you to be unfit to travel."

Vavrin slowly slid back down onto the bed. Sitting up was not a comfortable thing to attempt at the moment, he was right about that. She paused to close her eyes, she felt so out of it and groggy that she didnt know whether to try to get back to sleep or to try and stay awake to talk further. She furrowed her eyebrows, "I heard noises. Like a struggle." Vavrin turned her head wearily to face Nihael as she opened her eyes again to gaze at him.
"Ahhh... I feel so smashed... from what I can tell, I did not bring the farmhouse to ruin." Vavrin tried to keep it light, but she was certain something was not quite right, a bit off. Either way, she wasnt sure if she had the strength to persue the matter. She already felt like a massive fool for getting so drunk in the first place. She didnt even know for sure if she even had a reason for her actions. Did she need one? Though it was not in her nature to let herself get that drunk on purpose, Vavrin decided to blame it on a temporary lapse of judgement. The Shade sighed, the last thing she needed was more throbbing in her head than usual.

"You probably heard Yang struggling to bring you up the stairs to your room. You didn't destroy anyhting, other than part of your brain, you seemed to have drunk the whole bottle of brandy. You should not force yourself to stay awake, we can talk in the morning, go to sleep now." he spoke gently put spoke the last sentence firmly. Pulling up a chair near the bed, Nihael sat down. Looking at the Twins again, the icy look back in his eyes, "Seeing as how this was apparently my fault in some way, I shall stay with her and make sure she does not try to stay up or get up or anything of that nature." his gaze softened as he lloked at Vavrin again, knowing that she must feel like she went flying into a brick wall headfirst, he had had some experience with too much drink aswell.

No, Nihael, you will go back to your barn, Yin said. He glanced down at Yang and then back at Nihael. Both of you will leave this room. You've both caused enough trouble with your sharp tongues and attitudes.
Yang stood up and left the room. Yin moved to the table, ignoring Nihael's stares, and grabbed the small case that Yang left behind. Boil some water, Yang, Yin said, taking a piece of fruit and biting into it. These aren't very good raw. And leave your lapdog remarks to yourself.
Return to your dragon, rider, Yin said, looking down at Nihael. There's enough jealousy in this group as is.

Vavrin struggled to comprehend and keep her eyes open at the same time. Her head was hurting terribly, it was as if every word being spoken entered her ears and reverberated around her skull. She turned onto her side and closed her eyes, feeling rather irritated and no longer having the desire to stay awake. The sooner she fell asleep the better, and the cloud that had settled in her mind would be gone and things would start to make sense.
Vavrin quickly drifted off to sleep. Fragments of the night filled her dreams, none of which made any more sense than what she already knew. It was much like flipping through a book, reading snippets here and there, none of which connected or had any meaning. Vavrin slept soundly, not awakening again until hours later.

Nihael's blood burned as he bit back an angry retort to the Twin's statements. Pointedly keeping his gaze away from the two, he examined the rest of the room and glanced over at Vavrin every now and then. Even if I had been leaving the room, after those remarks, I am definately staying. I will take orders from no one, unless it makes sense or it is in my best interests to. And right now, their demands are neither of the two.
Nihael's eyes began to droop and it started to turn into a battle to keep them open. He had used more enrgy in venting his frustrations than he thought. Bloody Twins are messing up my judgement. A little voice popped up in the back of his head. Are you sure it is the Twins who are doing that? With an inward snarl, he banished his thoughts and continued to force his eyes to stay open. It was not long before they gradually drifted shut and didn't snap open again.

Vavrin stirred slightly, turning onto her other side. She opened her eyes slowly, and the first thing she saw was Nihael who was still asleep not far from her bedside. I wonder if he stayed here all night? Blinking a few times, she reached up and rubbed her eyes as she began to sit up. The haziness of her mind had lifted, but there was still a dull headache that nagged at her. Thinking back on the night before, a few key details had become clear, and she remembered that she had downed the whole entire bottle of brandy by herself. Vaguely remembering being told that Yang was the one who took her upstairs, she glanced around but did not see him. Frowning slightly, she kicked off the covers and sat up more.
Putting a hand to her head, Vavrin felt a little dehydrated. She didnt know whether or not to awaken Nihael, it was a late night for him, too, and she knew that he needed the sleep. Vavrin edged herself to the end of the bed and glanced at Nihael from the corner of her eye. Feeling so much better than the shape she was in last night, she figured she would get more details about what happened later, as Nihael promised they would have time to talk more. Looking forward to that, Vavrin got out of bed and began to stretch, her back cracking as she did so.

Yin walked into the room, a tray of tea in his hands. Perfect timing, Yin said, walking towards Vavrin. Come. We'll talk downstairs. Don't want to wake up Nihael.
Yin turned around and walked down the hall. Are you feeling any better? Umeboshi tea to cure hangovers... if shades even get hangovers that is. Yin sighed and looked back at Vavrin as turned onto the stairs. Just how much do you remember from last night? Sometimes it's good to share thoughts with my brother, sometimes not so much...
