A golden dragon was laying down near the practice fields. Her eyes were focused on one individual in particular though, a young boy, her rider. There were others here that were practicing, shooting arrows and knives and whatever else could be used as a ranged weapon. On the opposite side of the field were targets for them to hit.
Caspian stood still watching the target, he didn't have a bow or any kind of visible weapon. He was here to practice his magic. He closed his eyes to focus and summoned the energy inside of him. He glanced at the target as he held up his right hand and shouted. "Brisingr!" A burst of fire shot out from his hand and easily missed the target going to high. "No!" he shouted in frustration. Magic didn't come easy for him and this was hard, in the last hour he'd only hit the target twice. "Don't give up little one, you are doing better than yesterday," the golden dragon, Sephora said trying to help.

Saphone woke with a jolt as if from a nightmare and it was dark still. No not dark only me still being under tintaglia's wing. Tintaglia was still sleeping so he crawled out carefully as to not wake her and stretched before going into his tent putting on his armor and grabbed his bow since Islingr was always on him, and headed off to the training grounds. When he got there he noticed Caspian frowning in anger. He was about to go over to him when Tintaglia startled him by sneaking up on him and slightly nudging him. Ahh dont scare me like that Tintaglia you nearly made me draw my sword. Sorry anyway just go over and see caspian and ill go see how Sephora is doing. Ok see you later. He walked toward Caspian and Waved at him as he walked over

Caspian hardly noticed Saphone come by. In frustration he fired two more blasts of fire at the target, both missing with one of them striking the wrong target. He sighed and held his hands in fists seething inside. When he noticed someone was near him he whipped around a bit harshly. Great someone who would tell him he was doing it wrong. Just what he needed someone else to tell him what to do. He'd gotten way more advice on this than he wanted, maybe that was what messed him up. He said nothing though and turned to face away from Saphone not wanting to talk.
Sephora glanced at Tintaglia and smiled something of a toothy dragon grin. "Greetings," she said. Tintaglia was older than her as was made obvious by the size difference. But she thought her scales were much prettier than Tintaglia's were. She didn't say anything of that though.

Saphone noticed what Caspian was feeling even without reading his mind then looked at what happened. "Wow Caspian it took me years to develop a control over magic let alone even use it but you have more control over it right now then i ever did when i started using magic plus you can even ask Tintaglia because she saw how frustrated i was. But i will say this to you as Oromis once told me Knowledge and control of magic is something that takes time to earn so dont be expected to master it so quickly and remember you have limits. Saphone saw Caspian look up slightly but Saphone went over to Sephora and greeted her. Good morning Sephora how beautiful you look this morning never before have i seen such beauty (Blocking that from Tintaglia so that she wouldnt become jealous) how fares your day so far upon this lovely morn..

Sephora beamed at the praise. "Thank you, she said remembering her manners. Around here it was Saphira who often got all the praise, she often didn't get compliments so the few times she did she greatly enjoyed it. Although it made her a bit self conscious wondering if she'd cleaned all the dirt from her scales or not.
The praise was short lived as it was devoured by Caspian's frustration. "I've only been able to cast spells for a few months now," he said. Considering the short time he'd been doing, it maybe closer to a year but still not quite that long, he had come a long ways. If it hadn't been for his friend forcing him to use magic he doubted he would've unlocked the ability this soon. "Wait you knew Oromis?" he said his features seeming to brighten into curiosity. "Sephora," he called. The golden dragon shifted her wing to reveal Caspian's rider blade that had been hidden by her wing. He hurried over to retrieve the blade and drew it from the scabbard. He held it up for Saphone to look at. "This is Naegling, Oromis' blade, it was a gift given to me," he said. He spoke true it was none other than the very blade, and almost just as shockingly his dragon matched the color of it perfectly. The blade had not been made to match her but the colors were uncanny and had to be identical. "The power stored in the gem has saved my life a few times in battle," he said.

Yes I knew Oromis because he was my foster father when I was found by him in the forest long ago and Naegling is a worthy gift and you should not let it out of your sight because Eragon and I would hate for our former Master's blade to be lost. When Oromis for lack of a better term adopted me I was but 12 years old and I met Tintaglia that same year and was a rider to be and the power within that blade is the last of Oromis's power and the only thing of his left so do not lose it.
As Saphone was speaking a blue object darted from the sky and landed next to us.....
Good to see you again Eragon and Saphira my fellow dragon rider and who I consider part of my family said Saphone as a human elf dropped to the ground....

[Eragon and Saphira are played by Queztal. So they can't be here unless Queztal joins the thread and roleplays them.
Also can you keep it in third person? You just switched to first person.]
Caspian nodded. "I know the value of it, I would not be careless with something like this," he assured Saphone. He re-sheathed the sword and placed it next to his dragon Sephora again. She'd protect it if anything happened and that way it wasn't likely to get taken by someone thinking it belonged in the armory with the other spare swords. He'd heard tales of that happening to a few riders before, he'd never had it happen to him yet though.
"If only I could actually hit the target I'd at least be more use in battle. As it is I might hit our own troops," he said.

"I understand the concept of doing that but I don't feel like I have the time to learn it. I have to be battle ready, I don't have the leisure to do that," Caspian said. With a war that he had to fight in it was do it or die, or that's what it felt like to him. He'd done such tasks as lifting stones before, but his training had quickly moved to this, something more useful in battle. While floating stones was fine it didn't do him a lot of good in battle especially when most enemies wore armor and throwing rocks did little good.

"Would you train me then? Most riders are too busy here to train me, I'm left to my own practice most of the time," he said. It would be nice to have someone who could help him learn it was hard the way it was. If he was lucky an elf would watch him or help instruct him in magic use. And rarely would another rider offer help. He was sure they were busy as it was with the war. Too busy to help him.

No problem i would be glad to help anyone who knew Oromis and i am always willing to help anyone in trouble.
If you ever need any help Caspian just ask around for me i always every now and then can offer to help but if i am not around seek out someone who is more skilled than i or is as skilled as i am so i would recommend seeking out maybe Eragon or possibly anyone who knows about magic.
But be on guard when learning magic Caspian for it has rules and if they are broken there are severe consequences so be warned dont try to bring people back from the dead and dont try things your arent ready for..

"Well I never really knew him," Caspian said. The sword had been a gift from the Varden to him, not from Oromis nor from Glaedr. In fact he hadn't known the significance of the blade for a while after he'd received it. "Thank you Saphone, I would very much appreciate the help. Most of the time the other riders are busy and the elves don't speak to me," he added. "Do you have time to help me now?" Sephora watched from where she sat. She didn't know spells, not really but she knew enough of the ancient language to make sure Caspian at least wouldn't mis-speak his spells. For the most part the rider had only practiced with the spells others had taught him, he didn't dare risk trying to make his own.

"Of course I have time for you because i feel a kindred spirit in you and there is nothing i would rather do than help a fellow rider" Saphone said nodding at Caspian and then he spoke again after a moment of silence. "Caspian know this if i am to teach you magic trust that i am doing the right thing and understand that at times things will be awkward at times and understand that i am not just teaching you about how to fight with magic but that i will also teach many other things about it too." "So do you think you can handle it" Saphone asked raising an eyebrow as he asked.

Caspian was about to speak when he seemed distracted for a moment and glanced at Sephora. "It's a kind offer little one, it's up to you to accept if you want but if you do you should use -elda and show respect," she said to her rider. She had a natural affinity for language and had learned the ancient language quickly and knew how best Caspian refer to Sephone if he accepted.
The boy turned back to face the older rider. "Yes, I believe so. I will do my best, and I understand, Sephone...elda," he said almost forgetting to add elda to the end. It wasn't going to be easy, but he needed the training. On his own he couldn't do much.

"Good now understand that when you apply a spell it will sap your own strength but you have Sephora to help you" Saphone trailed off in thought thinking of his sister Silvian then brushed it aside.. now lets see what you know of the Ancient Language first i want you to....
After the sun reached mid day and they decided to take a break and Saphone was resting against Tintaglias warm belly as he kept thinking about his sister Silvian" One day i will find you i promise he swore to himself to keep that promise.
Then they continued but as they were about to a red dragon and rider and an army of imperial soldiers could be seen approaching and Saphone heard the battle horn sounded..

Caspian was sprawled out on the grass his eyes closed. Hitting a target with fire was hard enough but the training had been more intense than he'd thought. Many times he'd had to ask Sephora for help with the ancient language to figure out what Saphone wanted. Moreso having cast spells and practiced had drained him of his strength. He felt completely exhausted and was about to protest to more training, except he was to tired to even do that. As the horn sounded Sephora lifted her head to try and glimpse what was going on. It was strange to have an attack now. She glanced at Saphone and his dragon. "Caspian is in no shape to fight right now," she said.

"I understand protect him at all costs because without one of you life will not seem worth living for" Saphone said as he unsheathed Islingr and was glistening in the midday sun. "Lets go Tintaglia" Saphone said as he climbed into the saddle. But as Tintaglia was just about to take off more than 100 imperial soldiers and 10 elite spellcasters surrounded the 2 riders and both the dragons and their riders slumped to the ground unconcious beside them

[You can't have my rider and dragon go unconscious. That's a powerplay and against the rules. You can't control what happens to other people's characters.]
Caspian stumbled to his feet and drew his sword as the enemy came on them. He was exhausted but his adrenaline and desperation drove him to act anyways. How had they invaded so quickly this was crazy! Before he could summon what little strength left he had he felt a binding hold him still as one of the spellcasters bound him. Sephora roared and then let loose fire at them, but the fire was deflected by magic as though it were nothing. Frustrated she roared and snapped at the nearest soldier biting his head off. Fearful of the dragon no one moved towards her or Caspian as he was by her side, but bound. "Saphone!" Caspian yelled hoping for help but unable to see the rider. Tintaglia was easy enough to spot but her rider not so much.

Saphone was surrounded by this time and was fighting like a madman for his life. "Ganga Tintaglia go and help Caspian i will be fine" Tintaglia knew he wouldnt be fine but did what Saphone asked but first let loose some fire at the soldiers to help him recover a little strength.
Tintaglia made her way over to the Dragon and Rider
"Sephora why do you linger here still? You need to get Caspian out of here" Tintaglia said through a mental link with Sephora. Tintaglia swept her tail over two soldiers that tried to sneak up on them and they flew across the field in a tangled heap...
Meanwhile
Saphone was badly outnumbered but fought to his limits and just as victory was in his grasp out of no where came... .."For the Empire" a soldier shouted and struck Saphone unconcious on the back of the head and was just about to deliver the final blow when...
