Isrydia Stargazer - Human - Female - 19 - Rider - Neutral/Varden - BioThe daughter of a candlestick maker, Isrydia has come far already in her life. At seventeen she left her hometown of Kuasta for a life as a travelling storyteller. She enjoyed telling her stories and loved hearing new ones, but couldn't help but want more from life. After seeing the Varden knight Sir William fighting in Belatona, she asked to become his apprentice and accompanied him as his squire to all sorts of places she'd only heard about before. Eventually, her training was hurriedly finished and she was made a knight herself when William went off to fight in the Battle for Dras-Leona. After a brief visit to her family back in Kuasta following her knighthood, Isrydia found a dragon's egg in the Spine. Since then, she has been training, protecting exploring, doing her best to keep the peace as a Rider's duty. She has always had a keen interest in stars, hence her name 'Stargazer', and has even invented a number of equations and telescopes to better track and determine what exactly they are.
Arlyn - Dragon - Male - 7 months - Ice Blue - Neutral/Varden - Bio
Arlyn is a curious, intelligent and energetic dragon who can sometimes be a bit of a smart arse. As a hatchling he was badly wounded by a Shade, stunting his growth, but that was healed in Ellesmera and his normal growth was resumed. He'd still a bit smaller than some might expect, but he doesn't really want to be a large dragon anyway. He can be very playful and is kind-hearted, always looking out for others. As much as he finds Isrydia's work interesting, he gets bored after a while and finds something else to do when she's working hard.
Ri'Shei - Spartan - Female - 21 - Soldier - Empire - Bio
Ri'Shei is a hot-headed and stubborn spartan from the Hadarac Desert. She takes great pride in her exotic appearance, always wearing the toga-like dresses of her people and making sure others are aware of her towering height. She's quick to judge and can come across as cruel and mean. She doesn't really mind too much if other people are offended so long as there's a point or truth to her words, and isn't afraid to use force to get her way. She is efficient, cunning, quick and deadly with the twin blades she wields. Not one to be messed with, she can be a loyal and valuable ally when won over.
Eragon Shadeslayer - Human - Male - 19 - Rider - Varden - Bio
Under a lot of pressure since finding Saphira's egg, Eragon has acted brilliantly despite the stress. His talent for inspiring others has led him to be the Varden's Champion in the same way Murtagh is the Empire's. The long meetings can bore and frustrate him, but he does his best to do what is required of him. It often annoys him how much people expect from him, but he has learned to accept it. Despite a quick temper from all the pressure and expectations, Eragon has a knack for befriending and uniting different people, embracing the role of peace maker as a Rider very well. He knows how to find solutions to keep everyone happy, but can lose his cool if someone still objects.
Saphira Brightscales - Dragon - Female - 2 - Bright Blue - Varden - Bio
Proud, beautiful, and deadly, Saphira is hope and happiness to some and fear to others. She can calm Eragon if he gets too angry, but her own rages are worse if far fewer. Growing up when the only other dragon not in hiding was Shruikan made Saphira tough and independent. She can figure things out for herself and adapts to new things quickly. It also made her sad growing up as the only female of her kind, or so she believed until other Riders came out of hiding. She took pride in assuming the reason they revealed themselves was because of her and Eragon, and was gleeful that not only were there a few dragons hiding but there were also eggs hidden away.
Aether Nomos - Air Guardian - Female - 3.5 billion - Neutral - Bio
Immortal, also known as the White Phoenix and the Angel, Aether is the Guardian of the Air Branch. Standing three metres tall naturally, she can change her size, shrinking or growing up to seven metres in size. She always looks like a white bird with bright pale yellow eyes, however. Another skill of hers regarding her Psychical form is that she can change her own solidity; melting into the air, appearing a faint image in the air able to pass through small cracks and unable to touch or be touched or attacked. As Air Guardian, she can manipulate the air, and has some limited influence over creatures of the skies. Empathetic, serious, and introverted, she understands others well but doesn't enjoy spending large amounts of time with lots of people. She believes there is good in everyone and finds it hard to see any sort of 'good vs evil' situation in the world. She loves strong friendships, freedom, fairness, forgiveness, peace and music.
Throkk - Dwarf - Male - 122 - Smith - Varden - Bio
Throkk is an accomplished smith. Originally from the dwarven city of Tarnag, he currently resides in Belatona. He has a forge there, where he makes good quality weapons and armour for the Varden as well as clever devices for the assassins. He is down-to-earth and sensible, but not without a good sense of humour. He likes a laugh as much as anyone. His smithing services are available to any who ask. He has, with the help of his friend Tashiel, developed an alloy suitable for the making of Rider blades, which he will happily make for any Rider needing one. He has already made one for Isrydia, called Iarmailt.
Farria - Warg - Female - 7 - Confused Child - Varden - Bio
When Sheratan was first born, Farria began having odd visions. She would dream she was a snow leopard, unknowingly looking through Sheratan's eyes. She began displaying odd signs of magic, and an innate ability to move about while hidden. All this made people in her village wary of her. Eventually, Sheratan found her and wandered into the town, the two connecting. In that moment, Farria became the first warg in Alagaesia. Only seven years old, she is naturally scared of what she can do and afraid of much of what the world has thrown at her. Eragon took her to the Varden where she might be safe from frightened townspeople, and he has become like a big brother to her. She is mute, choosing not to speak partly out of fear, partly because she doesn't think she has anything useful to say, and partly because she likes being able to quietly slip into the background without people minding. Circumstances should have forced her to grow up quickly, and while she's fed up of always being scared she can't help being as young as she is. Most of all she desperately wants to know what she is and what she can do, but being the first warg the only way to do that would be to explore the abilities she's so scared of. She knows she can turn into a snow leopard at will, see through Sheratan's eyes, slip into shadows, and suspects she might be able to use regular magic as well.
Sheratan - Snow Leopard - Female - 9 months - Varden - Bio
Sheratan is a fully grown snow leopard, more mature and sensible than Farria. She sees herself and the girl's protector as well as her friend, and at times will negotiate on her behalf if she's too young to understand something properly. Intelligent and cautious, she can be very stubborn and grumpy at times. She always wants the best for Farria, and is grateful for how the first warg somehow changed her for the better, improving her intelligence, communication and reasoning.
