"Oh yes, very generous. Though one more so than the other." said Vavrin as the Cecil the shopkeeper slowly picked up the gold the twins had laid down, warily keeping his eyes on all of them.
Twirling the barbed hook between her fingers, she continued browsing for a different design, the twins not far behind. She saw hooks of all sizes, some as large as a hailstone, some as small as a mere pebble, dainty enough to catch baby minnows. Finally she came upon the ideal hook, not too small yet not too heavy. Its curvy length spanned no more than one's pinky. "That is why they make so many hooks, isnt it? Fish by day, torture by night." she said with a smile, her voice laced with malice.
Vavrin picked up a few boxes and announced, "Im taking these." Cecil merely inclined his head, wringing his hands like a squirrel.

Admiring the way the Shade dealt with the decrepit old man, Nihael grabbed a few select items that he would require for the journey. He walked up to the counter and placed some items down. "I assume that you will find that this will cover these items." stated Nihael as he dropped some money on the counter. "Would you have any strong leather? Preferably a large, long strip uncut. If you do not have any, could you point me in the right direction?"

Cecil mumbled a bit and shuffled from behind his desk towards a counter where he did his leatherworks. He took out a few samples of leather and splayed them out on the counter top for Nihael to see. There was a tan sample, a sample coloured like barley, and another which was creamy hued.
Vavrin idly jingled her boxes of hooks and made her way over to the counter, narrowly missing Cecil. She narrowed her eyes at the leather samples, they were cheap and looked like something toddler shoes would be fashioned out of. "What the hell is this? You certainly werent going to try and pass any of these off as worthy leather. I know for a fact you have something far stronger and worth much, much more than these pathetic examples. Go fetch it. NOW!" she growled.
Again, Cecil scampered to the back and returned within seconds with a large, uncut strip of very dark leather in his arms. He laid it down upon the counter silently and took several steps back. The Shade ran a hand over the leather and said, "Such a fine import. I think this would do finely, dont you agree Nihael?"

Nihael smiled at the Shade, "Yes this will do quite well...." turning to the shopkeeper he added, "I will overlook the useless merchandise you attempted to foist on me as you seem to serve your purpose, although I will not be so lenient should you try that again." Turning back to the party, "Shall we be heading off now? I have everything I need."
Are you done yet, I tire of waiting.
Yes I am almost done
Ah good, it is taking alot of self-restraint for me not to fry these insignificant little cretins.
Don't worry, I shall be out soon
Good[/i]

"Yes. That is unless the twins want some spiced cider to go with their fruit. Let's go." Vavrin glared at Cecil and exited the shop. Once outside, she grabbed Yin's elbow and stuffed her boxes of hooks in his pack.
It was nearly morning, and the fog had begun to clear from the streets. Again, Vavrin lead the way down the street, past the compound, and out not far from the gate of the city. She stood between the twins and took her last look at Gil'ead, which she hoped would be for a while.
"Lads, shouldnt you be in possesion of some mules by now? Unless you planned on dangling from underneath Onyxia."

((Should we be adding these items to our char invents? Though that would mean Nihael would have to make one))
"And we thought we were the ones in a hurry to leave..." Yin and Yang said, following Vavrin outside.
"Lads, shouldnt you be in possesion of some mules by now? Unless you planned on dangling from underneath Onyxia."
"We don't do mules..." they responded bitterly. "Nor do we dangle... Maybe we should do with a nice walk. Afterall, you could use the exercise."
Yin reached into his pack and pulled out a scroll, opening it up to show a map of the area. He scanned the scroll quickly and wrapped it back up. "The empire has several horses we can take," they said, turning away from the two. "We will be back shortly. Try and behave yourself amongst the rider, will you Vavrin? Galbatorix seems to want him kept unharmed afterall."

"I shall try," she said, rolling her eyes. "Or at least I wont leave any marks. " With that, Vavrin watched as the twins sauntered away.
When they had disappeared, she turned to face the Rider. She stared at him for a while, waiting for him to speak. There was a certain oddness just standing around and waiting, while the rest of the town was still asleep. Vavrin crossed her arms and waited.

"Try and hurry, I severely dislike waiting."
"What are we to do that shall not leave any marks?" taunted Nihael "How was it that you came to know that man in the shop, or should I say, how you came to dominate and thoroughly cow him?"

"I met Cecil maybe a year ago. He was running a much larger shop in Gil'ead when I got here. He had a reputation of being stingy and almost paranoid with his goods. I entered his shop one evening and he flat out refused to sell me anything. So I entered his mind to see just what he was so paranoid about. It turns out he was recieving high quality imports, those of which he never intended to sell. I probed further and found that he kept them hidden in compartment below. All sorts of fine leathers, wines, and weaponry. I did not see why he should be in possesion of them. So I tortured him for fun. I'm sure you can understand that? Of course, the barrage of invasions to his mind left him a bit... twitchy." The Shade laughed as she recollected the story.
"Anyway, after I tired of him and he passed out, I went down and stole what I wanted, set fire to his store and left. Cecil survived unfortunately, but barely. He is pathetic, a weak man not worthy of the air he breathes. He was forced to move into that shanty shop he keeps to this day. That is how things came to be. Never does he refuse me, and never do I pay him a single crown. Why pay for what I can easily take by force? He knows what I will do if he denies me."
Vavrin adjusted her left bracer and smiled at the Rider. "As for your first question... I'm sure we could think of something."

"A touching story, I have not heard a finer tale in all my life." Nihael stated smiling back as he tightened the saddle on Onyxia in preparation for departure.
She never told us why she was looking for us, I would rather know what we are getting ourselves into, instead of blindly following following someone just because they are pretty.
Do I detect a hint of jealousy?
Hmpf
Don‘t worry I shall ask her.
"Why exactly were you seeking me out? I don't believe I ever found out why, as we were so rudely interrupted by those ill-bred, annoying sorcerers.”

Vavrin laughed, pity the lads didnt hear that. "I suppose now is an appropriate time to tell you, Im sure we wont be interrupted. The reason I was seeking you out is because I have orders from Lord Galbatorix. I am accompanied by those twins as you know, but I was seeking to enlist an Empire Rider to take part in the fun. You made my job very easy when you showed up in Gil'ead on your own. So I approached you. Shall I go on?" she said as she pushed the hair from her eyes.

Nihael leaned back against Onyxia's side as Vavrin started to speak but kept an attentive ear especially after he heard that she was sent by order of Galbatorix.
Looks as though we are getting a mission from Galbatorix after all, although it is indirect.
Ah, finally, I was tired of sitting around waiting for something to do.
"Yes, do go on. It is a pleasant break from the recent boredom, should provide an ample distraction.”

The Shade shifted for a moment, she was getting a little tired of waiting around. "Galbatorix has given me an order intructing me to raid a supply line in Narda. There they are in charge of recieving and shipping imported goods of all kinds. He told me to do what I found necissary to intercept the supplies from being shipped off. Naturally, that gives me the right to a full-scale bloodbath. Maybe even a little throat-slitting as they sleep in their beds. So, are you interested in joining me?" she said, flashing her filed teeth as she advanced closer to the Rider.

Nihael returned the smile with an evil grin of his own. "Of course I will join you, I needed some exercise, and have been waiting for a chance to bathe in blood. Out of curiosity... is there anything in the means of a reward? Although the deed in itself is a reward..."
Ah finally, there is some blood to be shed.
Yes, things are looking quite promising.
Does she know if there are any warriors in or around the town? I do enjoy it when my prey tries to kick back.
Not that a few soldiers will make much of a difference to us, but I shall ask.
Nihael stepped closer to the Shade and relayed Onyxia’s question and sentiments.

"Well, we have first choice of any of the imports we need. The rest Galbatorix has instructed me to stockpile back in Gil'ead. Also, when all the villagers are dead, we can have the opprotunity to help ourselves to any of the homes should we find a need for them. Storage, rest, recreation, things of the like... and we'll always be able to return."
Vavrin considered the inquiry proposed from Onyxia and nodded as she spoke. "I am certain there will be warriors there. Unless they are a town of blundering idiots, they will be at least moderatly armed." She looked at Onyxia and grinned. "Yes, they will kick."

"I quite like the sound of that. I am sure we will be able to find something to do with the houses..." said Nihael as he smiled at the Shade. "We should be able to dispatch any resistance fairly easily, should be like taking sugared pears from a child."
Ah I see you heard what I said, should make things quicker than having to speak through a third-party.[/i]
"We should get off the streets, I don't believe we will be alone for much longer, those foolish Twins have taken long enough that people are starting to come out onto the streets. Not very punctual.”

"Yes, quite."
Vavrin narrowed her eyes. Nihael was right, the twins were taking a very long time. She figured they were arguing over who got which horse. Vavrin scowled and looked over her shoulder at the increasing number of people milling around. "Youre right... we should have been well out of Gil'ead by now. D**n them!"
Vavrin reached out with her mind to contact the twins.
I know you can hear me. You two better get your hides over here post-haste. Were still waiting at the gates.

Nihael noticed a faded look in the Shade's eyes, and realized that she was probably trying to contact the Twins.
Hopefully she will have some luck getting through to that useless duo
We should have just left without them, it would just mean that there is more for us to slaughter and less loot to share.
Would have been alot less annoying waiting around for those two too.
We can always just leave now and tell the Shade to tell them where we are going, they can always meet us there, for all the good it will do them, we should be done with our fun by then.
Maybe you will be done, but can always think of a few other things I can do after we clear out the town.
Hmpf. If you keep this up, I might just roll when your lashings are not tied properly and "forget" to catch you.
You love me too much to do that.
There is only so much I can stand, before I reach the end of my patience
Haha, dont worry, you will soon have an outlet for your annoyance.

After several moments had passed, Vavrin sighed heavily and uncrossed her arms. It was already daylight out, and many more people had risen from their beds and began their daily routine.
Another day spent in Gil'ead when it wasnt needed. Vavrin was growing more and more anxious to get moving. She glanced at Nihael and said, "I reached them. They'll be here, eventually. I can't stand just waiting around here, though. Its dull and my legs need stretching. Should we go for a walk, or go back into the city and get breakfast or something? Anything is better than this." a faint frown grew on her pale face.
Vavrin never was one for waiting around or being at a standstill. Especially when she had better things to be doing, so far nearly half a day had been wasted. She cursed the twins under her breath as she waited for a response from the Rider. She secretly wondered if Durza ever had problems like this with his twins.

Whatever you two do, I am going for a quick fly around the area, I need to stretch my wings. Being in this small place is making me feel cramped.[/i]
"Why don't we go get something to eat, then we can go for a walk should those two not be back by then." "Have you ever tried getting rid of those two? I am surprised you are able to bear them for any period of time. I probably would have slit their throats a long time ago."
