((OOC: ok. lol.))
Lira noticed he had said 'we' instead of 'they' and asked "Will you be going with us to Ellesmera?"
'Lira, you should not have asked that' 'Why?' 'It's his business. His and Lord Raylborn's' 'Business that concerns me' 'Yes, but not your business' 'If it concerns me that makes it my business as well' 'In a way maybe. But still' 'See? You said in a way' 'You are so unreasonable sometimes' 'Why thank you'

Jex was glad Lira asked the question so he wouldn't have to. He looked around the room his eyes stopped as they reached Raylborn.
"I have been trained in using a sword. Not that much but I can defend myself in a battle. As for flying Draith and I were flying around the courtyard just earlier."
Jex said his eyes turned to look at Pike as he finished.
"I think I could handle you with a bow. An arrow can be hit away with a dodge and the speed of a sword."
Jex said grinning at Pike. Jex! Pike is much older than you and has probably had much more training. Draith said to his young rider. Yes and I am still confident that I could match or even better his skills.

((OOC: Sorry that I haven't been posting guys..))
Niniel and Sarias had stood for a moment and just looked at the beauty of the palace. She had never been inside a building such as this before, and was ver impressed that humans were able to create such a majestic thing. She glanced at Sarias, then shrugged her shoulders and walked away to try and find someone to talk to about the Varden.
She wandered the hallways, keeping her ears alert for any conversations that she might come across concerning the Varden. She stopped at a huge door, and listened for a moment. The conversation caught her ear, Riders...
Her mind whirred for a moment as she thought how to best introduce herself, then simply knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer her knock.
((OOC: Ok, if I'm not here when someone answers the knock, I give Ray, Danny, or Ragond permission to control my character. I'll be out for a few hours, but I will be back on tonight.. so I'll be posting again today.))

Pike laughed as he reached into his pouch. He pulled out several arrow heads between his fingers. "I dunno what's worse, over confidence or lack there of," he said, throwing the arrow heads in the air and catching it. "But perhaps another time, youngster. Don't want you too injured on the ride to Fairyland."
Forest watched as a girl approached the large office doors. He tilted his head and watched her closely. Is there something you needed, miss? Forest asked her. I think the conversation going on in there is not meant for non-rider ears.[/color]

Raylborn's eyes traveled until they were locked with Eragons. "What training do you have in mind for them here, Shadeslayer? I will help you in any way I can, after that it is up to the elves." He said, awaiting Eragon's reply. They had better travel to an unpopulated area to train. Weapons, dragons and riders all in a contained area was not always the best thing. Especially with civilians around. He cracked his knuckles then grabbed his sword and belted it to his side. He stood up then, and walked to the front of his desk looking around at the riders. Some didn't have weapons, which was a bad thing. "We must get you properly equipted." He said to them all.

Pike turned his head and stared at the door. "Mayhaps Eragon should show us the way instead," he said, looking at Raylborn. He walked over to the door and opened in, a woman standing in the doorway. "You seem to have a visitor."
The girl smiled and waved a gentle wave. "Hello..." she said simply. Pike smiled and looked back at Eragon and Raylborn. "I'm sure Eragon knows the way, I would hope."
Do we dragons also get armor? Forest asked, turning his head towards Saphira.

"The training I have in mind involves seeing what they know, and teaching them how to travel by dragonback." Eragon explained. "I'm not sure if I will be accompanying you to Elesmera, but likely I will." He continued. He wanted to save Oromis the time of finding out what the other riders could do, his master had little time left. "Yes, they will need proper swords if they are to be trained. Armour isn't nessescary untill they actually do battle." He finished. Just then, a knock sounded at the door. A woman stood in the doorway. An elf. Eragon gessed from her sharply angled features. The answer to Pike's last question would have to wait.

"Or you don't want to be injured for the ride to Fairyland."
Jex said in a low voice. He then turned to the door as Pike opened it. A girl walked into the office. Jex realized the girl must have been an elf after looking at her ears. Maybe she was sent to guide us to the elves. Jex said to Draith. Before Draith could reply Jex realized what Raylborn had said.
"Oh yeah about equiptment I have none."
Jex said to the Varden leader. Draith quickly pushed his answer before Jex could speak again. We don't need a guide we have Eragon. Well then what is she here for? Jex asked. That I do not have the answer to. Draith said looking into the room through the open doors.

Is there something you needed, miss? Forest asked her. I think the conversation going on in there is not meant for non-rider ears. Niniel glanced at the dragon, but chose not to respond at that time. She looked back to the door as it opened for her and a man stood there.
She quickly scanned the room, noticing how many people there were. She figured that there was more than one rider present in the room; a small grin spread onto her features when she noticed Eragon, the famous rider whom she had seen in Ellesmera the last time that she was at the city.
She took a step forward, her foot hardly making a sound on the tiled floors. She felt fairly relaxed, and yet very excited as she opened her mouth to speak, "I seek an audience with the leader of the Varden. I wish to join the forces, but I'm looking for a position a little further up in the chain of command," she said as her eyes fell onto a middle-aged man. She assumed that he would be someone of importance, or atleast someone who could admit her into the Varden; she wasn't sure that the riders had that power.

"I also have no equipment and not much experience except with the bow." Lira said in response to Lord Raylborn's question. She heard the knock on the door and saw Pike open it revealing an elf, standing there. What was an elf doing here? she wondered. Then she heard the elf ask for an audience and a position in the Varden. 'Eri, why would an elf want to have a position in the Varden?' 'I would not know Lira. But it is good for the Varden, having an elf in a command position' 'I wonder if Lord Raylborn will give her a position' 'He should' 'Yes, he should. She seems sharp and clever. She would do well' 'That she would'

"Hmm, Eragon could possibly get you all outfitted. If he doesn't mind I suppose." Raylborn said with a thoughtful shrug. "But if I need too I will come along, it is no trouble." He looked at Pike who seemed to be bothering Eragon especially. Was he to be trusted? He did not know.
As Pike opened the door to reveal an elf, Raylborn's eyebrows raised and he looked at her and angled his head. She asked for a position with the Varden and he chuckled slightly. "And why should I trust you? Why should you get a position over all the others who have put years of work into it. A soldier, fine, you may be one. Maybe command a troop if you can prove yourself." He said and crossed his arms.

"Armor... yes of course. But I only use my own arrows," Pike said. He walked towards the elf and put his arm around the elf's shoulder. "Eh, the people of fairyland don't appreciate you, eh? I know I wouldn't mind having an elf like you by my side."
Forest pulled Pike's mind with enough force to send him out of the office and towards him. You're just asking to get hurt, aren't you? the dragon growled, shooting smoke at Pike's face. You'll stay out here until Eragon and the others are ready to leave.
Pike growled back at Forest and hopped onto his back. "Always the spoil sport, eh?" He turned his head and looked at Saphira. He bowed slightly and said, "'Ello, miss dragon"

Andvari heard all the racket and made her way to the room as fast as she could. Hearing voices talking even as she was still in the hallway she walked into the room, not waiting to knock. After all, she had spent more time in these rooms than in her own quarters! She was surprised to see such an assorted crowd, even an elf right in front of her. "Good greif! Did I hear mention of supplies?" She said placing her hands on her hips and giving Raylborn a glance that could almost qualify as a glare. "Supplies are low everywhere, another ship was intercepted I'm afriad." She said right out to Raylborn. She sighed, resigned. It was Eragon afterall, she couldn't let a dragonrider of the Varden have a rag-tag group, whatever it was for. Moral had to be kept up. "What supplies will this buch need? I think I can find some for them..." She trailed off wondering what this odd assortment and Eragon were even up to. "A few of them could do with a new set of clothes." Vari muttered. (( OOC: I am assuming that the dragons are not in the same room (if they are, we can say she didn't see them, thus she has no idea that they are riders. Just explaining my maddness. ))

Draith looked down at Pike as he exited the office he couldn’t help give off a small chuckle. He is almost as bad as you. Draith told Jex. “Armor wouldn’t hurt.” Jex said imagining himself with armor and a sword. He smiled at his daydreams he couldn’t wait. He listened to Raylborn’s reply to the elf. He nodded to himself Lord Raylborn was a good leader. What would happen if he had to leave for awhile to help them with their training. He always seemed so busy with something. Jex thought about for awhile. Do not worry about it Jex it isn’t your problem. Draith voice said entering his mind. Draith was right Jex stopped worrying about it and went back to his happy thoughts. Jex almost as woman entered the room questioning Raylborn. ((Didn't feel like adding a new post, so I'm hijacking Metri's post I'm not in the room anymore, Tavvy! -Danny))

The man replied, "And why should I trust you? Why should you get a position over all the others who have put years of work into it. A soldier, fine, you may be one. Maybe command a troop if you can prove yourself."
Niniel's eyes narrowed a little. The man was foolish, as was most of his race. No matter, however, she only needed access to the Varden to find her brother. She responded, "Very well, a soldier I'll be then. Just direct me where to go, and I'll be on my way, good sir. A humble elf such as myself has no business with you higher-ups," she said with a little laugh.
"Eh, the people of fairyland don't appreciate you, eh? I know I wouldn't mind having an elf like you by my side." said a man as he put his arm around her shoulder. Niniel turned to look at the man, an amused expression on her face. She laughed again as an invisible force seemed to pull the man out of the room.

Raylborn smiled as Andvari entered. "Ah, Andvari. Always there when I need you, eh. Well, I think were going to need armor for the lot of them. As well as a weapon of their choice, preferably swords for all. If they need it, a bow as well. Once you get them properly outfitted Eragon shall proceed with his training."
He shifted his attention back to the elf. "I don't know you, but elfs can be fitted anywhere. Prove yourself to me somehow and I may consider. But...elves are usually trustworthy. Hmph, prove yourself. It's all I need."

"What in the world would they need armor for?" She asked her voice clearly intoning that they were to young to fight. She crossed her arms stubbornly, "I doubt that the Varden has sunk so low to send boys and girls into training and combat. Please explain yourself." She said almost angry. In Andvari's mind they were still children, and sometimes she was a bit too protective of any and every child. 'they shouldn't be in this war.' she thought to herself convinced.
"Three sets of armor?" She aked looking around to see the boy, the girl, and the elf. "Any prefrences?" The half dwarf glanced at Raylborn questioningly. "I don't think these two could stand, no less fight, in plate." She mused looking at the boy and girl. "Too scrawny." She shook her head. "I could try and find a few light coats of maille for those two, or leather armor would be easier to come by. Even easier if they don't mind a slightly mismatched set." She spoke inventoring the armory's contents in her head. "Swords I'm afraid will have to be forged new. "I can visit the blacksmith's tonight and they might be done late tomorrow. That is if they want swords?" She raised an eyebrow awaiting an answer.

Jex was shocked that the woman thought he shouldn’t fight but thought nothing of it.
“I have never worn armor before so I wouldn’t know a difference.”
Jex said still thinking the woman was crazy. Draith entered Jex’s mind again and they joined as one so that Draith could see the woman Jex spoke of.
“I only need a sword I have never used a bow before. So yes I would like a sword.”
Jex said. She seems pretty normal to me. Draith said looking the woman up and down. Wait until she speaks.

Prove myself, eh? she thought to herself. Well, she knew that the group was headed to the Du Weldenvarden, so she spoke up again, "Perhaps you need a guide for this group in the Du Weldenvarden. I realize that you have Eragon with you, but you don't have an actual elf. Allow me to accompany them, will that prove myself to you enough?" she asked. She thought of the man that was now in the hallway and smiled, he would be a fun one to travel with; she had just recently become acquainted with the idea of traveling with companions, and she wanted to experience more of it.

"My lady Andvari, they are riders! They need armor, I dont care how young. Anything to protect them. Don't be so quick to make decisions, im the one in charge." He said, quickly losing patience with his council member. She had no authority to overule his decisions. His brow furrowed at her, and he stared for a quick second before focusing his attention on the elf.
"A guide you say. Hm I think that will be fit, once you come back with them I will consider a higher position. As long as you do the proper job, and get them there safely." He smiled at the elf and nodded. She had quite the features...and was quite pretty. Though all elfs had that thing about them, the angled features, such grace.
