"Shut up," Tristan said," My spell will not protect us from scrying."
This is bad Icefyre, he said. We could have a Shade on us any second.
We will be safe at Verdit's house. I doubt the Shade will have been there.
Tristan nodded and sent he an image of the house. The flew quickly, Tristan constantly looking over his shoulder. They landed outside the house and Tristan grabbed Arkantos and entered.

"Who?" Vedrit said outloud and to Sonya
'That other rider.'
Vedrit nodded. "So, who was that other dragon and that rider?" Vedrit asked Tian

Tian frowned, "I was handling it," she muttered darkly under her breath. Just then the door swung open, "Tristan!" she cried, relived that he was alright. She lept to her feet, which happened to be a bad idea, her head spun and she fell back. She groped for the bed, but all she maneged to grab was the blanket, and she fell on the ground with a hard thump. "Ow," she groaned, trying to pull herself up.

Tristan stepped through the doorway and tossed Arkantos onto the ground roughly. He was covered with sweat and he kept looking over his shoulder as though somone was chasing him.
"This is bad." Tristan said," We may have a Shade here any moment."
He nodded at Arkantos. "A Shade was scrying him the entire time."
( is Vavrinec going to enter the thread? and my internet is freaking out, thats why i haven't been on in a while.)

Vedrits hand was on his sword the moment the door opened. Listening to what the man said, he then asked "Shade? Whats a Shade? And why do you keep looking over your shoulder?"
'Sonya, I guess you had better get here quick. That rider says that there is something bad heading our way. A Shade, he calls it.'
He didnt get a response, but got a feeling of urgency from Sonya instead.
"What ever it is, we wont be safe here. Espicially if its as bad as you make it seem." Vedrit said to Tristan

Tristan looked at the Rider. " You don't know what a Shade is?" he asked surprised, " A Shade is an evil highly powerfull sorcerer. They were once a normal person but then they were taken by evil powerfull spirits. They are fearsome warriors and even the two of us combined might not make much of an oppistion."
He glanced at Arkantos, " Why the hell did you attack us in the first place? We were just minding our buisness?" He kicked him.

The sight of Arkantos sent a surge of fury through Tian's body, and Tristan's question was very like the one Vedrit had asked only minutes before. Tian glared at Arkantos, lying on the floor, she hated, when she was made to look weak, and this man had decided to try take, her hostage. Why? Having enough sense not to use her magic, Tian snatched one of her daggers from the bedside-table, and dove for Arkantos.

Vedrit lept to keep Tian from killing Arkantos. "No, he is useful alive. When he is of no use to us, then we can kill him." Vedrit said, soothingly, but firmly, as he restrained Tian.
Once she calmed down, Vedrit took a step back. "If we cannot kill this Shade, then we must leave. Now. My dragon is here and can take one other." He started to gather his few belongings. "Who flies with who?" He asked, slinging his pack on one shoulder. He was ready to help Tian, if needs be, or be overly harsh with Arkantos.
His plan was, pay on the way out, fly as fast and as far as they could. Bully Arkantos to get what information they could out of him, "dispose" of him, then keep flying until they had a better plan. Simple, and effective.

Tian sat back on the bed, glaring at the dagger still clutched in her hand. Suddenly she realized what Vedrit had said, flying. "Moon and my horses will follow more slowly on the ground," She said looking up with hard honey eyes. At her words Moon growled softly and curled up in Tians lap, digging her claws in to Tians legs. "No," Tian said softly but sternly. Moon glared up at Tian with yellow eyes, and jumped down and trotted out to the horses without looking back. Tian sighed and put her throbbing head in her hands.

Arkantos laughed at his captor's antics. "Surely the Varden isn't in this much disarry? I ought to revert back, if only to keep you all in line again," He chuckled. Suddenly his head came up with an idea. "You know, not even a Shade like Astarael or Vavrinec could lay siege to a castle, especially in Aberon. Niether of them would be able to even get here with a calvacade of troops in the middle of war without being noticed."

Tian looked up to glare at Arkantos, "I have horrible headache, so if you don't mind, speak in a way that an ex farm girl would understand," she snapped her cheeks flushing pink, and her butterscotch eyes hard.

" Don't listen to him," Tristan said. " He is probably trying to trick us in some way or another.
We need to flee. Now. The problem is we don't have anywhere to flee to. Any ideas?"
He spoke with Icefyre breifly. " Look, the Shade hasn't seen us. The only tie to us in this thing." He motioned to Arkatos," I say we erase our memory off him and get the hell out of here."

Vedrit shrugged to Tristans plan "You are Varden right? Why dont we go to where the rest are, and then we can kill the shade. If that cant be, then we can..." He thought for a momnet "I dont know where we would go or what we would do, but the memory is the best idea at the moment. Unless, ofcuarse, this Shade is on its way, then there would be no use in erasing his memory." Vedrit let out an exasperated sigh. "We dont have allot of options."
He, too, spoke to his dragon. "Sonya agrees with me and you. Leave. She suggests the forests on the other end of the contenent." Vedrit was near twitching with anxeitey for this Shade, and for leaving.

Tian glanced between Tristan, and Vidrit. Wow, she thought to herself, I met both of these men just today, and now my life is pretty much in their hands... Tian frowned, she didn't like that. She didn't like having to rely on anyone. Tian rubbed her temples with slightly trembling fingers. Why won't this headache to away? Tian thought back to something Arkantos has said, 'I should revert back, if only to keep you all in line...' " 'I should revert back?' " she murmured out loud. She looked up again, her brow furrowed, "Does that mean that you once worked for the Varden?" she asked Arkantos.

" You want to go to Du Weldenvarden?" Tristan asked. " I don't think thats a good idea. I mean I doubt the Shade will be able to catch us there but have either of you ever been there before? It is dangerous."
He turned hearing Akrantos's words. " You were with the Varden? Somehow I doubt it. Don't lisnten to him Tian. He's probably lying"

Tian took her eyes off of Arkantos to look at Tristan. "No," she said just a hint of excitement reached her eyes at the thought, "I've never been to Du Weldenvarden, and I can handle dangerous," she gave Tristan a meaningful smile. "But I don't think he's lying..." Tian added, but and unsure look in her eyes.

An offended expression crossed Arkantos's face."Of course I'm not lying!" He huffed indignantly. "I've been playing double agent for the Varden against the Empire for a few months now. The soldier I swore my alliegience to didn't know the ancient language, so I put a clause in my oath that allowed me to revert to the Varden whenever the higher ups needed me..Or until I got bored." A mischeivious smirk played across his face as he said this, his memories showing him the irony of his situation...

Vedrit shook his head. "I may not be Varden, but thats a rediculous excuse for us to let you go, made by some on in a bad situation." He said, crossing his arms "So, if possible, we find out if you ever were Varden, for I, myself intend to join the Varden" He sighed as he sat down, "But as I was taught long ago, 'Live in the now.'. For now, we are safe, with no reason to go anywhere."

Tian nodded in agreement and stood up, she swayed a little, her head spinning, but stayed on her feet. Slowly, as not to trigger nausea, he walked over to Arkantos, and stood in front of him, gazing down at him with eyes like flint. "I just have a question," she said coldly, "why me? What use would I have been to you, or the Empire for that matter?!" her voice was rising in anger, her hands clenched into fists. "Or did you decide to take what looked like the weakest person there, just for fun?!" She was trembling now, exhausted, but she would not back down.

"Calm down Tian," Tristan said. He put his hands on her shoulders."He is our barganing chip, and he is under no obligation to tell the truth." He led her away from him and sat her on the bed. " Your exahusted. Eat something."
