((OOC: Wow, isn't this the third topic with the name "Training"))
Eragon quickened his breathing and willed himself to wake. Upon hearing contact from his mind, Saphira lifted her membranious wing and let in a flood of moring light. The light came from the rising sun peeping over the easteren horizon. Today he was going to begin training the new riders, and a feast would happen this eavning.
The other riders, am I to go with them? He asked himself. The Varden needed him, they had almost captured the last egg that the empire held recently, instead they had gotten more than they bargained for, and so did the Empire. He needed more training though, for if he met Galbitorix all he could do would be run.
Remember your promise Saphira told him. She was right, Eragon had promised to return. Oromis did not have much time left, and he needed help to train three riders at the same time.

Jex jumped up from his bed the sun was just raising.
"Today is the day we began training with Eragon." He said stretching. He quickly cleaned himself up. Wake up Draith. He yelled into his dragon's mind. I've been up for at least an hour. Jex left his room throwing on his boots. Meet me in the courtyard. He said racing to the courtyard. Draith was already in the courtyard when Jex arrived. Good morning Jex.
"Good morning Draith." The two said greeting each other.

Lira woke at the crack of dawn. she rose and glanced at Eri, who was still sound asleep in the small bed that had been layed out for him. She gently prodded his mind 'Wake up sleepy head' 'No......' 'Come on. Wake up. you should be getting up before me.' 'I usually do. You just got up before me today' 'True....' 'Well, today I begin training. That should be fun' 'Yes. It should. And then there's the feast later today' 'That too.' She got up, put on her boots and walked out the door towards the court yard. Eri following her

Eragon would meet the other riders in the courtyard, today he would need the saddle. Saphira let him strap it to her back. He looked over at the saddle that Brom made, Brom. He mourned. Shaking his head, he resolved not to dwell on the past. He settled himself into Saphira's saddle, and let her carry him to the courtyard.

Jex looked up into the sky it was a beautiful shade of blue the golden sun was shining down on Draith's dark gray scales.
"Lets train for training!" Jex said while putting the saddle on Draith's back. As soon as he sat on down on the saddle Draith took off into the air. Jex was getting use to it his stomach no longer dropped when they went up so fast.
"Can't get me with that anymore." He said laughing. Get you with what? Draith asked.

Roran woke early in the morning, the dew still on the grass and the sun barley shining. He had no need for an alarm clock, as his mental one always woke him when he needed to get up. He sat up and pulled the covers off of himself, rubbing the sleep out of his hard brown eyes. He swung his legs out of the cot he was in and hurriedly went to his clothes. He pulled on plain tan pants and a tan shirt, both soft and elvin made. He pulled on his boots and strapped his hammer to his belt.
Today was the day he would confront Eragon. He had been sitting in the god forsaken camp for weeks, waiting for Eragon to fulfill his promise and track the Ra'Zac with him. It seemed that Eragon had forgotten about him and that annoyed him greatly. He left his tent with his head high and jaw set. He walked quickly to the courtyard, where he knew Eragon would be. He reached it to find Eragon already there.
He marched over to Eragon and stepped infront of him, glaring at him unintentionally. "You promised me you would help me find Katrina!" he said in an accusing tone, "How long are we going to just sit here doing nothing? She's in trouble and could be killed by those beasts at any moment. Are you going to help me save her or not?"

As Lira neared the courtyard she heard a man yelling. Something about someone named Katrina and being in trouble. 'Who is that?' 'Someone we haven't met yet apparently. His voice sounds unfamiliar.' 'Yes. It does' 'He seems to want to save this Katrina person very much' 'Yes. He does.' 'When we get there we will find out who he is. Maybe we can help' 'Maybe. Maybe not. It seems rather personal. Maybe he's related to Eragon?' 'Maybe' Lira and Eri walked in to the courtard. In Eri's case more of a waddle though. And stood at the entrance. Contemplating whether to walk in or to wait or turn back and come back after the conversation was over.

Eragon surveied his surroundings from Saphira's saddle, looking for other riders. Draith was flying nearby, but he saw no sign of the other riders. He turned his gaze back to the ground of the courtyard, and he saw Roran. Roran, what is he doing here? He hadn't seen his cousin since he had returned from his mission.
He unstraped himself from the sadle(sp?) and lept to the ground, landing lightly despite the distance. He waited as Roran aproched. Something simmilar to anger rolled off of Rorans mind, he didn't invade his cousins counciousness, but some things were hard to miss. Eragon noticed somthing of a glare in his eyes. He dismissed it though. Then his cousin spoke.
"You promised me you would help me find Katrina!" he said in an accusing tone, "How long are we going to just sit here doing nothing? She's in trouble and could be killed by those beasts at any moment. Are you going to help me save her or not?"
He didn't have much of a response, though. Fortunatly, Saphira resqued him. Eragon, he does have a point, tell him your sorry and that you will go with him at the next avalible oprotunity.
Eragon spoke, relying on Saphira's advice. "I'm sorry Roran, my duties have kept me from doing so." That was only part true, yes his duties were time consuming, but truthfully, he had forgoten his promise. "I will help you at the next oprotunity, but right now I have much that needs to be done."

Draith landed back in the courtyard and Jex jumped off of his back seeing Eragon. Jex stared at the man who had just appeared infront of Eragon yelling at him about what seemed to be a girl. He looked the man up and down he had a hammer. Must be a Varden soldier but why would Eragon promise him something like that when he has more important things to do? Jex asked Draith. I have no clue but you should let Eragon take care of himself. Jex was just about to speak when Draith said that. I guess your right.

Forest and the others flew over the courtyard. They circled it several times and watched the others carefully. Pike held his long bow tightly and set up an arrow. He stood up and walked on Forest's head, taking aim.
What are you doing?[/i] Forest asked. His eyes looked up as much as they could to see Pike.
"Just playing..." he said. He released the arrow as it flew through the air towards Jex, landing a few inches from his feet in the ground. Pike smiled to himself as Forest got lower and hopped off, dropping a few feet and landing softly on the ground. He grabbed his arrow and pulled it out of the ground, a deep hole the only sign it was previously there. "What's up? Am I late?"

Jex jumped back as the arrow landed in the ground. Pike landed in the same place seconds later. Jex looked up to see Forest flying in the sky. Just as I thought. His head turned back to Pike the oddest of all the riders. Jex took a step forward in order to be able to whisper to Pike without the others hearing.
"Yes and you have missed a few events. See that man right there." He said pointing his finger at the man who had confronted Eragon.
" He wants Eragon to save some girl with him. I think that’s crazy because he has more important things to do than save some girl. Don't you think it’s crazy?" He hoped Pike would agree with him unlike Draith.

Pike looked at Jex and then watched Roran. "Crazy indeed..." Pike said to himself and Forest flew down behind him. Pike turned and slowly walked towards Forest and Niniel. "You know, young Jex, there are a lot of crazy things a man would do for a woman. This is not 'some girl' to the man, this is, I would assume, his love."
What are you going on about now? Forest asked as Pike approached him. Pike rubbed Forest's head down and looked over at the elf, smiling. It's okay, I'm behaving.
Pike turned and looked back at Jex. "You'll risk anything for your love. Even risk the Varden and the life of all the riders. He's crazy, young Jex. Crazy in love. You'll understand when you're older, trust me."
Pike drew another arrow and set it up on his bow. "Now, how about we chatter less and fight more."

"I would never risk Draith for some girl." Jex said still thinking about love. He knew the word and knew some what of the meaning but not the true meaning.
Jex did a half back flip grabbing a stick from the ground. He stood in a fighting stance.
"Yes fighting is fun." He said with a small smirk on his face. He was excited he hadn't been able to fight since before Draith was born. You better be careful. Draith warned. Don't worry about me I'll be fine. Jex said reassuring his dragon.

"Ahhh, so that is how we're playing, eh?" Pike said, watching Jex. Pike walked over to Forest and reached into the saddle, pulling out several arrows that weren't finished. They were missing their arrow heads but the feathers were already set up nicely. "What about we play a little game, eh?"
Pike placed two arrows on each of his ears and held one against his bow. "I'll fire the arrows and you see how you can block it. The arrows won't kill you, but it might give you some bruises. Ready?" Before saying go, Pike let the arrow fly. He snatched another from his ear quickly and fired the other one, the third one flying a second behind it.

Jex dropped to the ground as the first arrow flew at him. He got up blocking the second with the hilt of the stick. He tried to block the third one but was not successful and it hit a knuckle on his left hand. He wanted to yell but held it in. See I told you I'd be fine. He said to Draith. You can't full me I know that hurt more than your showing. Draith said laughing. He had decided it was good for Jex to learn this way it might even make him a little less arrogant.

Pike walked towards Jex and started picking up the arrows. He walked past Jex to go find where the first arrow had gone. "Not bad, better then I expected," he said, grabbing the last arrow. "Now, let's go again, eh?"
Pike grabbed another three arrows and set up two on his bow at once. "Let's go with more speed but a greater distance, shall we? And multiple arrows from different directions." Pike started running in a simple circle, pulling the bow strings and letting two arrows fly. He ran in the opposite direction and sent out another set of arrows.

An idea came to Eragon's mind. He looked at Roran, his cousin weilded only a hammer, probibly not the best weapon against the Ra'zac, there hardened exoscelitons protected them against most crushing blows, unless you knew just where to hit. He looked over when he noticed Forest flying, Pike riding him. He sensed his intentions, they were too strong to be hidden, through the other riders mental barriers. He might have felt Eragons touch, but that would take more concentration, for Eragon only brushed the very extirior of his counciousness. He watched as Pike shot an arrow that landed at Jex's feet. He decided to voice his thoughts to Roran, and said, "You could do with some training yourself, and I would be happy to give it."
Eragon turned back to the other riders. He saw Pike fire an arrow--a headless arrow--at Jex. The first arrow he let fly at its target, but the rest were stopped dead as he muttered, "Letta Thorna."
((OOC: that means halt arrows, or somthing like that, can you let the arrow that flew on hit Jex, Metri. After all, the only time that people knock arrows out of the air with sticks is in martial arts movies, and I have a good lecture planned.))
"This is my cousin, Roran." He introcduced to the rest of the riders, gesturing towards Roran.
Edit: ((OOC:Well, it looks like we posted at the same time, can you edit yours? Please and thank you.))

Jex smiled he was happy that he was better than what Pike expected to him. When Jex heard the word speed his smile grew it was something he was good at.
As the arrow came at him he side stepped it his eyes stayed on Pike. He looked at the next arrow it dropped in mid air.
"What happened?" He asked looking around. Eragon stopped them. Draith said. He turned to look at Eragon who was introducing his cousin Roran. Jex gave a small wave at the man.

Pike stopped running and skidding slightly. He slipped his bow over his body and held the end against his shoulder. He tucked the remaining arrows onto his belt and looked over at Eragon. "Just having a little fun is all, Shadeslayer," he said, smiling. He looked over and Roran and nodded. "Evening, Roran. Proud of your cousin the rider?"
Forest's tail swept behind Pike without his notice and wrapped around his stomach. It moved, dragging Pike along with until he was pressed against Forest's body. You're gonna cause trouble again[/i] Forest said, squeezing him a little.
"Come on, I didn't mean anything of it. Just a question."

Post by Niniel on Dec 30, 2005 22:47:36 GMT -5
Niniel relished in the brief ride that she had while on Forest. She had never been in the air like that before; the closest thing to it she had ever experienced was jumping off of an 80 foot cliff into a lake.
As she and Forest landed, Pike, who was already on the ground, walked towards them explaining something to the younger rider. She listened carefully to what he was saying, and couldn't help but grin. This man was definitely a romantic, that much she knew for certain. She made a mental note of what Pike was saying about love, she would have to discuss his feelings on the subject later.
As Pike and the younger rider started to "play", Niniel slid off of Forest, bowing to him in gratitude. She walked slowly off to one side of the courtyard to watch what would take place in this training session, and just maybe get to participate a little bit. As she reached a spot away from the riders, she pulled her sword out of its sheath hanging across her back and set it on the ground. Niniel closed her eyes and took a slow, deep breath, and then proceeded to do some Rimgar.
