Roran raised an eyebrow at Eragon when he said that he would help him " at the next opportunity". That just wasn't good enough. Katrina could be dying right now and it was all Roran's fault. His eyebrow went higher when Eragon told him he needed some training. He tried not to show that it offended him. He had evaded the Empire, saved an entire city, and killed many men; not to mention that he had done it without a dragon's help. He was about to comment when Eragon introduced Roran to the other people he hadn't noticed before.
One of the younger boys asked him if he was proud of Eragon. His eyebrow that had resumed it's normal position went up yet again. He tried not to let his anger rise, the boy had probably not meant to offend him. He was still trying to get over Eragon's role in Garrow's death, the destruction of Carvahall, and his loss of Katrina. He didn't hate his cousin, but he was not very happy with him. He turned his attention to Pike and spoke, choosing his words carefully, "Well, let's just say that proud wouldn't be my choice of words, to say the least. Not that what I think of Eragon is any of your business."

Jex was taken back by Roran's reply to Pike. He isn't the kindest of sorts. Jex said to Draith.
"So who is this Katrina person you speak of?"
Jex asked wanting to see if Pike's theory was right. Someone is upset. Jex said to Pike. He looked at Roran with dislike. I’m not sure training would be to fun with him. Jex told Draith. Draith walked forward to get a closer view of the boy Roran. He does look like he could hold his own in a battle though. That’s always good.

Niniel listened in on what the one called Roran said about the renowned Eragon Shadeslayer. So Eragon makes mistakes as well, eh? she thought to herself. It wasn't everyday that she was allowed to hear what relatives of the great rider thought of him. It was a pity that there was such anger between the two who, apart from the highly noticable tension between them, seemed as though they could be brothers.
"So who is this Katrina person you speak of?" the young rider asked. Niniel's ears perked at the question.
She stepped closer to the group, "I think perhaps the answer to that question is no business of yours at the moment, young Argetlam. It would be wise for you to withdraw the question and apologize for your lack of consideration in the matter. It is obvious that this subject causes this man great pain, and it would be best if you didn't remind him of the ache," she said with a meaningful glance.

Pike looked at Roran with a questioning eye and laughed slightly as Niniel spoke. "Why give manners to a man who does not use them?" Pike asked, looking at Roran. "And everything about this rider if my business now. After all, I am his... associate, I guess would be the right word."
You should not tempt the lion, even if you're only tempting him with words, Forest said to Pike and Jex.
Pike continued looking at Roran. Weren't you going to find something to eat? Forest let out a low growl and took off, leaving Pike's bag behind. Pike smiled and then walked to his bag, rummaging through it until he found his twin daggers and slipped it into his belt.
"Well, Shadeslayer," Pike said, looking at Eragon. "Are we going to stand here talking all day or shall we train? Perhaps that cousin of yours would like to join us.

Angela came walking up towards the training area, she was walking quietly with Solembum at her side still apparering like a rather large cat. She had heard that some new riders were around since she had last been in the company of Eragon and Saphria and was rather excited at the propect of meeting the new dragons and riders.
She wasn't one for trianing of course, though someone else of the Varden had told her where she would be able to find them and it appears that she had found the right place. Angela smiled at the sight of the other dragons and seemed fairly excited about meeting them.

((OOC: wow. you guys got far.....sorry. was gone yesterday >.<)) Lira walked into the courtyard and saw Pike and Jex 'playing' some sort of game with headless arrows. She turned as Eragon introduced his cousin "It's nice to meet you" "Pike, not everything is your business. Somehting is only your business if it concerns you" 'He seems to love this Katrina person very much' 'Yes. He does' 'I wonder why there is so much tension between them' 'That, as you say, is their business' 'I know. But one cannot help being curious' 'That is human nature. But you must control tha' 'I know Eri. I wonder what we'll learn today' 'Not much i assume. He'll probably just want to see how much you already know' 'Probably. And that won't be much' 'True'

Jex turned his head not wanting to say sorry. Pike is right he has no manners. Jex said to Draith. Just because he doesn't use his doesn't mean you shouldn't use yours. Jex said nothing back. You still have a lot to learn young Jex. Jex paid no attention to what Draith was saying.
He broke the stick in his hand over knee and began a sword fight by himself. He dueled his left hand against his right. He waited for Eragon to tell him what they would be doing.

Roran narrowed his eyes at the boy, anger and hurt flowing in his veins. He glared at the boy and said, "I give respect where it is due. You have not yet given me a reason to respect you. All you have done is show me that you the lack manners and respect that I would expect from even the smallest child." He was getting tired with the situation and turned to Eragon and said, "I am leaving the day after tomorrow, with or without you Eragon. Remember your promise Eragon."
He turned away from everyone, fighting back tears. How could he have so much anger for Eragon when mere months ago they were closer than brothers? He stormed from the feild and returned to his tent to think.
EDIT: I'm sorry if this post is bad, I was so freakin drunk when I wrote it.

((OOC:Wow, you guys post fast. I was gone for a day and a half and I find myself sitting here with as much catching up to do as a barefoot giraff chasing a long-legged cheeta. Like the simily.))
Eragon sighed and shook his head. So much to do, so little time to do it, especailly now that Roran had proposed going alone. He's going to get himself killed, if I don't go with him.
At least he will die for what he loves, and all the more reason to help him. Saphira said, The others are waiting, I suggest you begin training them.
Eragon looked at her, sighed again, and turned back to the other riders. He touched all three of their minds, looking for barriers, some of them had barriers. (can you guys specify which for me in your posts) He asked a question that had been nagging at the back of his mind, "Have any of you used magic before?" The answer could mean a difference in a year of training.

Pike looked a the sky thinking Forest would be around as Eragon had asked the question. He did not look down from his sky gazing as he answered the question. "Forest tried teaching me a few words he knew since he was born," Pike said, slowly lowering his gaze towards Eragon, "but I was never into learning new languages. Forest performs some rope tricks but that's basically it."
Pike looked at Eragon and brushed his mind with his, making sure he'd feel it. "What I am skilled in is mind reading. I've been communicating with animals since Forest hatched. I don't normally block my mind, as you may know, unless I feel like it. Not even Forest can't through my barriers if I don't want him to."

Jex watched Eragon's cousin Roran leave the courtyard. About time he was getting a little to angry. He thought to himself.
Jex then heard Eragon's question. "Have any of you used magic before?" Do you know any magic Draith? He asked turning to his dragon. I'm sure I do but I don't know how to use it or control it.
"Um nope don't know any magic." He said embarrassed that he didn’t know how to use magic.

Lira watched as Roran left the courtyard. 'Now there's one who could use some anger management classes' 'Yes Lira, but he has reason' 'That he does but one should control one's anger. Anger can make one susceptible to ll kinds of things' 'That it can' Suddenly Lira felt a strange mind touch her own. One that was alien to her. She panicked and put up barriers on her mind frantically trying to get the person out of her head. 'Peace Lira. it is just Eragon' 'Oh' She slowly lowered her barriers and answered the question "No i have never used magic before." I didn't know you knew how to put up barriers on your mind Lira' 'Neither did I. I guess its because i panicked...well.....something like that' 'Probably'

At the answers from the three riders, Niniel's jaw dropped slightly. Never used magic and they are the ones who are to save this land from a tyrant? They don't stand a chance, not even combined. She thought. She truly felt for Eragon, she could see that he had a lot on his plate to handle at the moment.
As she stood and watched the group, she decided to offer her services to Eragon to help him in teaching the ancient language to these hopelessly uneducated humans. If there was one thing she knew in this world, it was how to use the ancient language; she had grown up speaking it, and although she did not know all the words in it's vastness, she knew enough to perform the tasks that she needed to get done.

((OOC: I didn't quite get that, did she offer her help, or just think about it? Sorry for the minor shortness.))
Eragon sighed again, the third time today. This was going to be difficult. At least they all know how to protect their minds. He thought to himself, although Lira's barriers were weak, a mark of inexperience. On to the next step, he knew that both Pike and Jex had entered the mind of someone other than their dragon, but had Lira? "Lira, have you ever touched the mind of anyone but Eridor?"
Later, he would have to see how skilled they were with their weopons of choice, appernetly Pike knew how to use his bow, but Lira and Jex hadn't had much training at all, as far as he knew. Remember not to forget that the mind and magic are just as powerful as phisical weopons. Saphira reminded him.

She heard Eragon sigh and she knew this wasn't going to be easy for anyone. She knew nothing and was supposed to somehow protect Alagaesia. Then Eragon aksed her if she had touched the mind of anyone besides her dragon. "No i haven't" when she gave her answer she felt so inexperienced compared to the other riders. How was she going to learn enough to be a proper rider? 'Lira, don't worry, you'll learn' 'I know. But there's so much i have to learn and so little time. We have to defeat Galbatorix now so that no one else has to deal with him and how will I help if I'm not prepared?' 'I know how you fell. I know very little aswell. But we will work together and learn as much as we can in the time we have so we are not totally useless' 'I hope we'll be able to' 'I do too'

Frustiration coused through Eragon, although he was calm on the extierior. This was going to be very difficult, both for Oromis and him. None of them had ever used magic before, and one of them couldn't reach out with her mind. Then he remembered Brom, speaking to him just after he touched Cadoc's, his old horse, mind. The old rider had told him that it was rare that a rider could touch a mind other than their dragon without training. All he was doing was finding out what the others could do, not training them.
"Do any of you have skill with the sword, other than Jex?" He asked all of them.

Turning Jex looked at the two others waiting for they're answers. He leaned back to fall on Draith's ribs. I wonder how hard and long all this training will be. Jex said looking down at the stone floor of the courtyard. I'm guessing more than a year and it will push you to your limits. It won't be easy to defeat Galbatorix. Draith said answering Jex's questions. The young rider smiled. Sounds like fun. Jex then realized there was a woman in the courtyard accompanied by a rather large cat.
“Eragon we have company.” He said still focused on the cat.

Eragon turned, Angela walked up the path towards him, Solembum trotted beside her with his cat-like gait. "Good morning, Angela. What brings you here?" He asked. It had been quite some time since he had last seen the witch and the werecat, and then he remembered his promise to heal Elva.
I forgot about the girl as well, for that I am sorry. Saphira said to him, but she will understand why we forgot, I hope.

Angela walked right up to where Eragon stood, she would ask about the others in a moment, right now she had a solemn look upon her face as she stood there with her hands on her hips and looking hard at him.
"You know very well what brings me here, I may not have been here for a while, though I know what's going on and I see you still have not kept up your promise. Have you any idea what that poor girl has gone through and is having to go through even now"
Her voice had slowly raised as she watched him, while she was fairly shorot, she still would stand up to anyone who she thought had done wrong and Eragon had made a terrible mistake that he still had not taken the time to fix. Solembum had gone over to Saphira and was rubbing against her leg, it had been some time since he had seen them as well.

Jex was shocked that the woman was getting so loud she had seemed so kind walking over to Eragon. Jex then realized Eragon had made another promise that he apparently hadn't kept. I hope all these promise don’t cause problems with our training. It seems his cousin wants him to rescue this Katrina as soon as possible. I wonder if she is talking about Katrina too. Jex pondered his thoughts on it for some time but soon gave up as he lost himself
