Eragon noticed out of the corner of his eye that Niniel and Pike's match had begun. He kept part of his attention on it, looking at it every once in a while to see how well Pike was doing, he knew the older rider had less of a chance of beating the elf than he used to have against Arya, before the dragons changed him. He repeated his instructions to Lira, and taught her how to block her mind.
A moment later, Eragon heard Jex's laugh. He's probibly laughing at what Draith is doing, Draith might have sent him a picture, and you thought it was comical when you saw me streach in the same ways... I think. Saphira guessed.
That gave him an idea for the next part of his lesson, the first level of the Rimgar.

(oh sorry with the late post, been kinda very sick)
Angela nodded slighty as she listened to the Solembum, "I believe he has learned well from Oromis. He has made mistakes in the past, but he is much wiser and stronger now from what he has been through, and he says he shall fix his wrongs."
She believed in both Eragon and Saphira, they had proven themselves to be brave and wise when needed in the recent past, and while she indeed did disapprove of a few of his actions, they were getting better over time. She shook had been sorting her herbs all the while, though she did take a minute to look up at the new riders and they dragons. "They are young, and really not very good."

Pike stalled as he watched the elf run. Her speed was like none he had ever seen. Pike only managed to spin slightly out of Niniel's way but still received a slight hit on his arm. He looked down at his arm where a small bruise was already appearing. "I hope you're not going easy on me," he said, smiling. "It's more humiliating if I lose slowly then quickly."
Pike flipped the dagger over in his hand and held the handle between his index and thumb. "Catch!" he shouted, pulling his arm back and then firing the dagger like a throwing knife. Hoping that small distraction was enough, he shot forward at Niniel with his other dagger in hand.

Don't want me to go easy on you? Very well, she thought to herself. Pike then threw a dagger in her direction and yelled, "Catch!"
Niniel contemplated trying to catch the dagger, after all, it was blunted so the worst thing that could happen would be a broken bone. She began to reach up with her hand, then noticed that Pike was close behind the dagger running towards her.
Once more using her speed to her advantage, she spun in a circle, grabbed the dagger and then leapt right back at Pike, dropping her sword as she went. Now it would be fair, each of them had a dagger to use, along with whatever wit they could muster during the quick confrontation.

Pike, suprised by the actual catch, quickly changed direction. He had expected a dodge or even a sword blocking him, but a dagger was smaller and harder to block back. Dagger met dagger as Pike tried to push Niniel back when they hit the ground. Figuring it was no use after a moment, he used most of his strength to use her body as support and pushed off her instead. His feet skid across the floor as he landed, kicking dirt into the air. "Is it to late to change my mind?" he joked, laughing slightly. "Too bad I can't use magic, eh? Brisogner! Brisonger! Brizinger? No? Ah well, worth a shot."

Niniel stumbled backwards after Pike pushed off of her. She straightened up and found her footing again and smiled at his attempts at using the ancient language. "We'll have to work on your pronunciation later I suppose. Here, try this one: malthinae," she said clearly and waited for Pike to try it. She didn't think that he would be able to get the full effect of it, but it was worth a shot, she just hoped that it wouldn't take too much out of him.
((Thanks for the adivce and all Ragond, perhaps I should have made my purpose clearer, but I was just trying to get him to learn words and pronunciation, not actually use magic. If you'll look to when I start talking, I say we'll have to work on his pronunciation and then give him a word. Thanks for the magic lesson anyways though.--Niniel))

Forest flew over head and watched Pike closely. He had nothing to do as Saphira was teaching Draith the Dragon Rimgar. Better be careful, Forest said, pushing a little energy into his body. Pike shivered as a weird energy entered his body, but he could see and feel it easily.
"Malthinae," he said softly. He felt a tug at his hand as it closed tightly around his blade. He shook his arm but his hand wouldn't open nor would the dagger fall. "Looks like I'll have to work on my aim as well... Well, I won't be losing this dagger easily."
Pike staggered slightly but quickly regained himself. "Quite the drain, eh?" Pike said. He shook his head and then charged at Niniel again. He swung his arms like he was boxing, swinging punches as well as swinging his blade.

Niniel was a little shocked that he had actually gotten the magic to work, she was just trying to get him to start learning words and their pronunciations. Whatever works, I suppose.
As Pike came at swinging his arms around, Niniel was tempted to laugh at the ridiculous way he looked doing that, but she held it in and waited for him to get closer. When the punches and slashes were close enough to touch her, she began to dodge and block most of them with ease. After a few seconds of doing this, she got bored and decided to try something new.
She spun in towards his chest, dodging the swings coming at her, and she grabbed one of his arms. Then she ducked and slid through his legs, coming up behind him. With little effort, she pulled up on his arm and flipped him onto his back. Then she straddled his chest, squatting low over him. She realized that she was holding the hand that had the dagger in it, and so she swiftly stuck it up against his throat, moving her own dagger to match it.
"Had enough, Argetlam?" she asked.

((^^; Sorry, didn't know I wasn't suppose to do magic... hehe))
Pike laughed slightly, a little out of breath. "If I say yes, does that you have to get off?" he said, looking up at the elf. He attempted to move his hand but the dagger was making it too difficult and his other hand wouldn't be able to fend him off as well. He sighed and stopped trying. "Did I lose, Miss Niniel? Cause I feel like I just won myself a nice prize. Either I've won me an elf or you've won yourself a nice chair."
Forest gave a laugh and dropped down, landing softly behind Niniel. He opened his mouth and carefully bit down on Niniel's shirt, lifting her up to her feet and putting her down gently. It's not good for Pike to be enjoying himself so much,[/i] Forest said, nudging Pike with his horn. Pike lifted himself up and dusted himself off.
"He speaks the truth," Pike said, patting Forest on the nose. "If I lose like that all the time, I don't know if I ever want to win."

Niniel rolled her eyes and laughed a little bit, "You'd do better with women if you weren't so forward all the time. Not all women will be as tolerate as I, but even I can only take so much, Argetlam. One day you'll win against me," she smirked, "But that will be quite awhile, and after much training on your part, I assure you," she walked to her sword and dusted it off as she picked it up.
She walked back to where Eragon was with the other riders, "Shadeslayer, perhaps I'll have the pleasure of being able to spar with you someday. I'd like to see how I fare against a trained rider. But just so you know, Argetlam, I'm willing to help you in training, well, training or teaching as much as I possibly can. I know I can't do much, but I do know the Rimgar, an extensive amount of the ancient language, and I'm a fair sparrer, so you have but to ask," she said bowing slightly.
She turned to walk away from Eragon, but then she stopped and turned back, "Oh, and I was just wondering, but when is this feast that was spoken of yesterday evening?"

((OOC:Lets make it at sunset, how does that sound. I'm getting bored, so how 'bout Eragon and Niniel sparring.))
Eragon observed their dule as he begun to teach Jex the first level of the Rimgar, he was amazed at Pike using magic so easily, but apparently he still didn't have any controll over the spell.
Eragon answered her simpily, "The feast is at sunset." Then an idea sprung to mind, "Why don't we show these beginers what a real sparring match is like."
The only person who could match Eragon's skill here among the Varden was Arya, and Eragon wasn't sure he even wanted to be around her; he needed time to sort himself out. He wanted a good sparring match, he hadn't used his sword since his last mission, and that was weeks ago.

Niniel was a little shocked, "I'd be honored to spar with you, Argetlam," she said with a bow, and then walked a few steps away and faced Eragon.
She spread her feet apart a little to get in a good balanced position, and drew her sword once more. She spun it around a little bit, and then proceeded to block it, and also blocked the dagger that was sheathed at her thigh, she just wanted to be safe because she might be forced to use it while fighting one as skilled as Eragon.
She looked at Eragon, "Whenever you are ready, Shadeslayer."
((OOC: I'm heading off to bed, so our little fight will have to wait till tomorrow, sorry Ragond.))

((wow. sorry haven't posted here in a while. lot of stuff been going on and i sorta forgot >.< sorry))
She heard Eragon's instructions and followed them best she could. Stone block , stone block, stone block. then she heard Jex laugh and her concentration broke. What is he laughing about...then Eri sent her a picture of what they were doing and she burst out laughing as well. 'So you think its funny do you?' 'Of course I do. Not everday I get to see a dragon dancing' 'Just wait till you do this stuff. then we'll see who laughs' 'Yup. Me. At myself'
Then she turned to see how Pike and Niniel's match was going. Apparently Niniel had won and now was going to spar Eragon. This should be interesting. She would get to see a real sparring match.

Solembum inclined his head toward Angela at her remark. Yes, but we have put all our faith in them. If they fail, Galbatorix will rule us all.
Solembum got up and stretched, his paws kneading the ground. He turned his red eyes on the young elf who had challenged Eragon.
This should prove to be amusing, he thought. The young girl shows promise,he said to Angela.
Watch yourself Eragon,he said, touching the other's mind for the first time in quite a while. She's stronger than she appears to be.

Eragon drew his own sword, made sure that it was blocked. and dropped into a fighting stance. He noticed Niniels dagger, I'll have to watch out for that, he thought.
Watch yourself Eragon, She's stronger than she appears to be. Solembum said to him, it had been quite some time since he had last spoken to the werecat.
I learned that a long time ago. He answered, thinking of the first time he had sparred with Arya. "Ready," he said out loud to the elf, warning her before he feinted at her right side with lightening speed.
Saphira progressed to the next part of her lesson, Follow me, if you can. she said to all of the other dragons. She lauched herself into the air, and exicuted a series of manuvers designed too avoid arrows just as you take off.

"Ready," Eragon said to her, and then quickly feinted to her right.
Niniel could feel her heart pounding in her chest and hear the blood rushing past her ears. She only hoped that she wouldn't make a fool of herself as she fought. She relaxed her body partially, allowing her body to meld with her weapon. Then she charged towards Eragon, but controlled her body as it hurtled towards him quickly. As she approached him, she leapt into the air and flipped over him, then spun quickly to face him and decided to make the first attempt at an attack. She began to move her sword in a graceful pattern that she had been taught by a warrior in her home town before she had left. She didn't expect it to do too much damage, only to test Eragon's strength so that she knew what she was going up against.

Eragon didn't expect her to attempt jumping over his head, or else he would have jumped as well, and knocked her to the ground. Instead he simpily turned and faced her. In three quick mauvers he parried knocking her sword slightly to the side, then struck out with a hard swing. The swing would hopefully not give her enough time to recuperate, and them Eragon could seize the offensive. He had little hope of actually striking her with his wild swing. His sword felt clumzy in his hand, the dwarven blade did not hold the grace of Zar'roc.

Niniel was impressed with how quickly Eragon was able to stop her small attack. Then he swung hard, and in the split second that she had to think about it, she went through two possible courses of action; one she could try to block the swing, but it was likely that she would be knocked off balance. So she decided to go her second choice. Quickly dropping to the ground, she squatted on one leg, and with the other attempted to sweep Eragon's legs out from under him. She knew that this wouldn't work seeing as he was as agile as any elf, but maybe it would throw him off a little.

Eragon stopped his blade in the air, keeping the stroke from pulling him too far off balance, and moved his feet back out of range of Niniels kick in one fluid movement. He realized that this first excange of blows they were mostly finding out what their respective oppenent was made of. The elf was quick, he knew that, but how strong was she. He begain a series of attacks that would force her to stand, then he would lock blades, and hope to gain the advantage.

Eragon began a series of attacks at Niniel after her failed attempt to knock him off of his feet. She stood kind of awkwardly as she warded off the blows, but she held her own for the moment. He was strong! That much was extremely obvious to her as she felt herself being driven backwards slowly but surely. Two could play that game though, she would lead him on for the moment, and lull him into the false sense that she was weaker than she really was, and then once he was in that set mode, she would retaliate in her real strength. She knew it was risky, because she could be taken unawares very easily while trying to do this, but it was worth a shot. She knew that to beat Eragon, she was going to have to use more than just her muscles.
